I finally worked up the courage to attempt Dread Mode. I never thought I'd make it as far as I have, but the idea of skipping any save room blows my mind
@@MrHighwind Aw man, I used the speed boost trick, but that still took a while, because it's just so erratic. I got to Experiment z-57 and I know I can make it to the running portion, but every time, one of the walls of beams gets me, and I just put it down for a while

Idk why but it's the little things like when you spam "A" while you wait for the elevators/teleporters or when you just spin Samus around in place while you wait for things that I find so enjoyable about this play through. Awesome video and what a great run. Thanks for sharing this!

It took me like 15 hours to beat this game on normal mode. I am beyond impressed that you grinded this game out to the point where you could just do this. Congrats on the impeccable skills mate.

I subbed for 2 reasons. First, I appreciate the time effort put into optimizing your run for no damage and 100% and not getting lost or anything of that nature. As someone who's played this game a fair amount, goddamn, I'd almost think you're a dev for how well you did on this run. Raven on dread, good lord. 2nd reason... all the littke and random slide noises you put in throughout 😂 One that first one around 5 minutes I think, I did a rewind just to make sure I heard it right lol. Sure enough. Then you put them in seemingly random points as well. Love it 😂
I don't know why this showed up as suggested for me, since I don't have the game and I've never done anything related to it, but I'm glad it did. I watched the whole run. It was incredible. Simply amazing.

These Metroid games are nuts. I played this game to death like 4 times 100% every time. I knew the route like the back of my hand. Dropped the game for 2 years and came back not having a clue which direction to go.
I died like 350 times when I did dread mode ;-; Really felt like the game was designed for it though Edit: Insane!! 100% items in 3 hours, no saves, even knowing you beat it I was in suspense the whole time. Your movement as Samus is really awesome to watch
Unrelated but I once walked to work. It took me exactly 3 hours and 11 minutes! 😂❤ But those are some serious skills. If this game has Zero-Suit-Samus, you'd surely pull off a run with her. Great work! 🎉🎉❤
I imagine Raven Beak watching Samus move through the planet, skipping all conversations with "Adam", completely untouchable by any enemy, unfazed by anything happening, marching straight to Raven Beak and then destroying him effortlessly. "Dread" is what Raven Beak builds up to throughout this run while watching it unfold.

I can honestly say I learned something new watching this! I never knew that you could make Samus do a bicycle kick by sliding into a melee counter. It doesn't seem to have too many applications, but it's a cool move nonetheless!
I've done hundreds of no death runs on hard and I never save anymore, just play right through in roughly two hours, but if there's one thing I haven't done in this game, it's a no-hit run. My best Dread mode run Saw two deaths, the yellow emmi because he was in place he shouldn't have been when I entered the room and it threw me off my routine, then the fire escape before varia suit. There's on spot in the fire room before the varia suit that is really annoying for that and when you're not focusing, you always clip it and take at least a couple energy of damage from it, but I've never really practiced, just played though about a hundred times. lol Nice job man, that was awesome! I should actually commit to a deathless Dread Mode run.

Really? If I was using save states and editing my best segments together I wouldn't have used this sloppy attempt at this Speed Booster/Shinespark section 2:17:10. There are quite a few times throughout the run where my movement or just overall performance is lacking. Also I wouldn't try to trick people into thinking it's a legitimate run, if it wasn't.

I made it through dread mode once. The hardest part for me was Escue because the roving X Parasite kept hitting me.
