The bumpers really saved my current ship design in Career. I progressed up to Level 7-9 system before I ran into ships that were dangerous to me. The Quickdraw ship specifically - It is armed with one Deck Cannon and its strategy is to basically ram straight into your face and fire at close range. I had a couple close fights until a Pirate Base lvl 9 mission came up, where there were two Quickdraws defending the station. Those things kicked my ass, got straight into my shields and blew up my rail guns. I put a big bumper on my ship with armor, leaving gaps only for the rail guns to fire through. That saved me! they could no longer get straight past my shields - I came out of that fight with a couple hundred iron and some coils needed to repair, where before the same fight would lead to my ship being destroyed and usually both enemy ships still flying.
Wow. And I thought I knew everything about the game on the competitive side. Bumpers are such an ingenious way to both strengthen and spruce up your ship with a relatively cheap price!
At the point where I like before I start watching, good content. I’ll be back for this and any other colony/factory/sim/logistic type games you might take up. You have a digestible, smooth and detailed instructional flow.
I tried the No automatic doors option but found that I forget to add a door more often than not and the auto door placement is generally good enough for a first draft of a design. Small bit of trivia I just noticed is that the ship on the main menu that warps in when the game finishes starting also warps out when you exit the game.
That's what I did with the first submission I received. The video is going to take some time to get out because of the 5hr of footage, half being terrible or lagged because my laptop was overheating.
Thanks for the tips! Can you make a video on how to counter particular types of ships (mainly interested in career mode but pvp probably has some main archetypes)?
When I load a ship from my library in career mode, all crew tasks are gone, is there an option to save them as well or to load them. I know that you can load the crew roles but not which bed they belong to, is there something I'm overlooking or is it a feature that will hopefully be added, because on large ships it's really annoying to put the roles on the beds again every time. :)
This seems to be a common issue so I will try to include it in a video soon. Can you tell he how are you loading the ship from career? For me when I do replace blueprints it seems to work as long as I have the same roles on both ships.
how did u restock resources and have it fill up your storages with rockets aswell? my storages stay empty when i do it, and i have them all linked to the rocket pods
Assign your storages to the ammo type and it should autofill from factories and trading/transfers. They will also fill up when you restock from creative.
is there a way to save ship designs inside creative. then go into career and load them there WITH all roles assigned to the correct quarters? atm when i create a ship in creative, create all roles and assign everything. the roles in career wont be there and i have to assign every crew quarter again to the correct roles
I did build new ship and pasted/replaced using the ship made in creative and the role assignments worked. It also worked when using replace existing when changing a ship for me. I am using all the same crew roles so that might be your issue.
@@thatonekmc and all "beds" are corectly assigned from the creative mode into career? could you maybe make a little short video of that? like "how to get your ship from creative to career"
@@Matthew.1994 I'll mark it down to put in my next tips and tricks video, but it might not be out for a bit. If you want I can quickly show you on discord.
I like this video. But dam i forget how ‘competitive’ ships look. I hate the square designs even when its the best functional design. Not basing you or anyone else who uses them but i prefer my ships to look like you know… ships
im very excited for the pimp my ship series.
Same 🖖
this series also makes me wanne do something on my own. just to see it pimped =)
Keep it up! Looking forward to pimp my ship

This deathstar thing is fire!!
168 hours in. Finally I see how to know the current value of the ship by clicking the arrow on the right above the stats. Great videos!
The bumper thingy was very useful for future designs.
Thanks for the tips. I’m glad your channel is doing well. =]
Good stuff!! Keep it up !!
Damn that's another banger! Thank you for all the work you put into your videos for us!!

Very nice! Thanks.
im just making waves in the algorythm.
waaaaaaa i would like my ship to be optimized !! great video as always!
I'm more than happy to get to it
You heard him. JOIN THE DISCORD
first i thougt.. man shit, this is too short of an vid, but dang, is this some packed information in here. thanks.
Great videos, just got game 2 days ago. I think your mic sound might be a little low, not sure if that's just me. Keep it up :)
It would be cool in your ship series to try to retain certain design elements of the submission in some versions, such as profile or cost.

Yes, I plan to make a video on how to use and counter every ship type

Also. Learn to manual fire. If you play long enough, you can be better than the ai at predicting enemy movements.
Is there a way to lower the grid snap level? I want to place blocks every one square in the build menu but the game snaps to two
I am confused on what is happening, are you saying that you can only place corridors every other tile?
@@thatonekmc I was hoping to be able to half the snap level of the grid but I've since found out it's impossible
When are they going to add a torture chamber to catpure enemy crew and convert them?
