@@Polarfuchs Are you sure? Although Remake is visually the best mod, gameplay wise AOTR is even complexer. The economy, the different units, unit research for both space and ground and the fact that there are missions, make AOTR way more interesting for me than the current Remake.. Also, the 2 teams work together so they share a lot of the same models. AOTR still looks quite good and shares models with Remake like the ISD, but doesn't have the great shaders. If you haven't already, I suggest you give Awakening of the Rebellion a try

man i need to look at some mods, those drawn out fights look really fun after you spend so much time sniping bridges with 2 KM railguns.
The pretty lights of space battles are so pleasant to look at. The fact that the rebel scum perishes it in the thousands while doing is just icing on the cake.
Chances of victory are rapidly declining? You just didn't follow Granddaddy Palpi's orders correctly.
You turned Star Wars battles to 18th century naval warfare - so basically to Homeworld. Pure Perfection.

Have you tried Starsector? Ships are a lot more simplified compared to this, but it has warcrimes and spacecannibals.
Starsector is on my radar for a long time now, but I'm scared of getting addicted to it because it looks like it's right up my alley.
I have a decent amount of time in that game and i can comfortably say both vanilla and modded starsector is INCREDIBLE.
Especially when you get into making colonies and then producing ships for your fleet.@@Polarfuchs

I hope you're aware that this is a one-off for.. reasons and if you're not interested in War Thunder, you should prolly unsub. If you don't you're actively hurting the channel. Except if that is exactly what you intend to do, then go ahead.

I started this game and thought man , if i had a unlimited budget i could really design a monster... then found the free build settings.
Designed a 7 million monster... and guess what? Was wiped clean out of space by a ship that costs 2 mil. In fact all of my ships i have designed in my now 60hrs of game time all get wiped out by less expensive ships.
So yep ..ive learned: throwing money and resources at the problem doesnt solve the problem if you just suck at design. Thanks Cosmoteer!
sometimes, i do fleet tactics... send in the big, armored and shielded ship to tank the hits, and get a smaller, faster, more nimble ship to go around and kill it.
@@xXCursedWorgenXx as long as the bigger ship has more damage potential they will aim for it unless that has changed (been a long time since i played)

Venators typically tend to be trash unless they’re traveling in a pack. Then they have a chance at winning an engagement so this is lore accurate
Well in combat alone Venators just fucking suck, what saves them is their fighter garrison

if you grab and drag the entire painting area around the ship, the paint scheme will usually highlight then you can drag and paste it onto your ship.

Cosmoteer is the only game where I'll spend several hours in the sandbox trying to make a half decent ship and then realizing it's hot garbage once I take it into career mode.

You can build them, but they're not very useful most of the time
Unfortunately, in this game, fighters are pretty inconsequential in comparison to the larger vessels. Especially against modded ones..

this game seems interesting but is the ai always bad like that ? raming and doing 360° over and over cant they keep their gun/missile range instead of going in close combat melle.
Nah I think the mod is fucking with it a bit, maybe the ships are just too big and clumsy so it can't react properly
Best designs are walls and cubes. Which kinda ruin the game imo.
I am no fan of the mods for this game. They always give you an advantage over the base game ships. Like circular Shields who easily make you immortal. Also top placed weapons let you build without any weaknesses. Using mods in this game is just playing easy mode...
Bro. It's a sandbox game where people want to build cool spaceships. There's no "easy mode". Let people play however they want.

No that's an opinion. There's such things as rebalancing mods, as well as mods that make the AI even more bull then they might be in vanilla. You're just narrow-minded.
@@MagnaSonic3000 those are exceptions and not the norm. Check out the most used mods and you'll see it's what I listet above. It's mostly advantageous mods like thruster that can be build inside your ship without having a deathspace, weapons on top of your ship, stronger armor, better shields. Those are all advantages
Both of you are right for different reasons.
As far as sandbox goes, people that want to build crazy ships with mods (and PvP or whatever), mods are great.
As far as career mode goes, most mods give the player advantages without giving the enemies the same advantages so it is basically cheating.
Depends what you want to get out of the game. That's why I rarely, if ever, use mods... And when I do, I make sure the mods affect the AI just as much as me.
