Man their sound engineer for this was phenomenal. Everything is distinct and powerful, huge props.
Using those old Boogies and Marshalls probably helps!

It’s because of the way his vocals changed throughout his career. If he would have kept screaming like the Justice Era for 40 years he would sound like Axl Rose does so I’m thankful he made the transition😂

I think his playing it a bit more "everything" then the faces he's making.
He makes those faces because it hurts he has arthritis and/or carpel tunnel
It's amazing how James' late voice sounds great with the old stuff than it does with later releases.
He seems to struggle to sing songs from the Load-Reload era but not from Kill'em all.
So he won't go prince charming and didn't sing i disappear at all)
I think that Load is a great album but doesn't represent Metallica at all, maybe that's why James likes more to play songs from the old days that songs from the 90's. I hope they'll play more stuff from the first albums

Load and Reload are harder to sing.
@@marcobaldini6568 If you listen to them playing the Load/Reload stuff recently, it's pretty clear that he struggles to sing it. Look at the original cut of Fixxxer live from the 40th anniversary show, for a particularly painful example. He's much more in his comfort zone here and on the newer material.
So bizarre hearing this song. Takes me back to when this came out me and my small circle of friends drinking beers thinking we had our own secret favorite band that nobody knew about . Fast forward almost 40 years these songs are still being enjoyed by a whole new generation .
James has already found comfort in his new vocal range, and it's wonderful to hear the confidence in his singing voice return.
Can we just acknowledge for a moment that these guys are knocking on the door of 60. They look and sound incredible

It really was an unbelievable night. I’ve seen them a few times and this was the best concert I’ve been to. To witness that set list was incredible and all the tribute videos they played made it cool. Agree with Raven what an awesome opening act.

Nah they do this for every show so they can pick a handful of songs from the show to throw on RUclips. Go on their page there's always like 3 or songs from every show now. Which is cool that they're doing that

As a newer fan (listening to metallica since 7 or 8 years ago) and reading these comments, i feel so privileged to have been able to witness this setlist live in a more intimate setting since they usually sell out full blown stadiums and arenas. It was amazing!!
