I'm so glad they still play this song diamond head deserves more love.
Indeed + specially this time Bring The full Versión in 72 Tour.
They're millionaires because Metallica covered the song...
According to Brian, the royalties that he receives from the DIAMOND HEAD back catalog, including the METALLICA recordings of his songs, are enough for him to live on. "It's my biggest source of income," he revealed in a 2019 interview. "It's great and I don't know what I would do without it. It gives me the freedom to do what I like. I'm very grateful."

Finally!...they played it in full length! 🥲
They've done so the last 3 times it's been played.
When I got to see them in Lisbon I have waited for that song and they didn’t played it 😢😢😢
They played it in full in Hollywood Florida a couple of years ago
Very Rare.

Love to see them playing the full version of the song often!
Totally agree, the short version is always kind of a bummer, this kicks ass
Cant believe it
yes full version with the proper solo
When was the last time they played the full version of this song?
This is even longer than the recorded version. Did they add part of Four Horsemen to it?
“One of the heaviest riffs ever written. Thank you for that, Brian.” Our sentiments exactly!
Totally underrated, definitely not Sabbath this was something else
I think you can hear a tad bit of sabbath in this but you can tell that Slayer might have listened to this song as well...^^
7:49 you can see that James is genuinely excited and in the zone. The joy of music.
James sounds powerful and confident. Love it.
....helloooo ???
Metallica was on fire in Oslo, seen the band 36 times from 82-2024, easily my top 3 gig

james vocales are outstanding. probably one of the best since the 80s
No.
@@aitorayala si
4:32 his vocals here are so clean and beautiful! His singing is the best I’ve ever heard for a near 61 year old
His best since the late 90s, 80’s can’t be touched. And through no fault of his own. Can’t expect him to sound like Seattle 89 when he’s 60 years old. He sounds amazing though!
This venue is like 30 minutes from the city center by bus, and you could hear them play as clear as day from there. So good.
more like 15 minutes by bus and 8-10 minutes by car
Metallica has one of the most powerful amplification systems in the world!
Metallica's cover songs are always so good🤟❤️
_Some_ of them are good. Possibly even _most._ Not all, though.
Backhanded compliment
@@creamwobbly Which one are you thinking about? On the Garage Inc., they all seem pretty solid to me, even if some people complains about the 1988/1992 covers not being produced, or being barely produced (The Prince, Breadfan, etc...) and the Motorhead cover being recorded live which means far from the studio quality.
The 3 covers they made that ended up on the HTSD deluxe edition are amazing as far as I am concerned (and still astonished they never played live two of those).
The Ennio Morricone tribute they made in 2007 of the Ecstasy of Gold is fantastic.
The only ones that can be debatable are probably the Ramones covers they made during the St Anger period (some of them are OK, but some are horrible), and that acoustic version of Alice in Chain's Would? they recorded alongside with the Blackened 2020 is also quite debatable for it doesn't brings justice to this amazing song.
I wish they would make one more cover album before they retire

@@TGPilar no way
Metallica with more guitars is certainly what the world needs right now! ‼
The stage setup is crazy - a combo of the Death Magnetic and M72 stages. And everyone just seems happy in this video. I'm glad this band is still going after everything they've been through.
Yeahh they weren’t this happy in Copenhagen haha
@@Crepitom Who would? Naaah just kidding. XD
It’s amazing they are still here doing great and glad to see James healthy as ever and happy again
True Metallica fans know how awesome it is to hear the full song 👀👀
I don't believe since Ride the lightning they played the full song ,usually before the solo would go to a different song
@@JawsVader1970 I think they played it live in 2007.
@@JawsVader1970they’ve played it quite a few times!!

8:28 - That genuine smile is what this is all about! Without it, they wouldn't be around today. The love for what you do drives the world! Thank you, James, thank you, Brian, and thank you, Metallica!
One of their best covers ever! Well played live here too!
One of the best covers of Metallica. The longer version always the better.
Epic!!! the solo part was perfect.
Except for the video director switching the view in the middle of it, geez
Played the full song? Oh Yeah!
Best part of all, they really look like they're having a blast in each other's company on stage.
I now feel the need to jamm on this song with my bandmates - yup. It's that inspiring.
Thank you Brian and thank you Metallica!
Metallica's cover songs - never get tired of hearing them.
This song was played in 1979 before Metallica even existed.. wow.Great cover and solo !
Captain Obviouso
This is what I'm waiting for!
HQ, Full version with Brian Tatler! 🤟🤘🔥
They need to play the full song more often. The main riff is probably my favorite riff ever. So fun to play.
Nice " Get Larsed" moment at 6:20. Great song.
laughed so hard 😆
yea WTF was that?
* Guitar hero metallica memories *
🤣
I was there and I cried when that happened... :D
This is beyond epic. Brian still shreds like a beast 😮
I can die in peace now, they played the full version!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
They have done before... Big 4 comes to mind, 30th and 40th anniversary shows, during the Garage Inc. shows... granted, they should do it more often 😂
@@TheFerry7791 They have come to my mind, late. Even so, the Big 4 hasn't played the full version. In '98, in 2021 and in 2022, yes, there are several records. I hope they do it in Argentina 😂.
2007 Portugal is the odd one
@@8tonystark8 I found that in Finland too, 2007.
@@Maxlfnz they didn't? Somehow I remember they played it in full once, but I think you're right.

Believe You Me when I first started watching the video I was praying “Lars please do not fucked it up” 😂😂

@@totallycashed9656 from what I can see in the video yes he fucking can, all you Lars haters can fuck off that shit got old already
@@totallycashed9656 I prefer he makes such a genuine mistake, same as Kirk often does on Nothing Else Matters...than to play on backing track. Nothing wrong with that :)
Fantastic song and a top concert in Oslo 2024. The first time I saw Metallica was back in 1986 in Skedsmohallen, Norway. On bass was Cliff Burton, I shook his hand that night. 2 days later he was gone. RIP ❤️ 🤘
3:15 - What a fucking moment! (This also needs to become a staple in their setlist again)
So happy to hear this song fully live! Was having a terrible work day and saw this right after and totally made my day! Metallica for fucking life! 🤘
I was there and it was so epic to see Saxon and later the same evening Metallica playing Am I Evil again and even together with Brian. Saxon, Diamond Head and Metallica are such great bands. Metal for ever 🔥🎸
So glad they played the whole version!!!
One of their best cover in my opinion 🤟🏼🤟🏼
Since Metallica went full digital amps when playing live, it´s a rare sight to see amps on stage. I guess Brian Tatler really loves those Marshalls lol
Actually he plays that Kemper too
Those amps are just for stage "air" and the signal comes from the digital amps
James using the same guitar he used all those years ago opening for diamond head, but in present day, Is so cool.
Brian literally nailed that solo
Literally? There were no nails except for his fingernails and those weren't used to play the solo.
He did nail it though.
He should, it's his song
not really
Am I Evil? Yes I fucking am.
FUCK YEAH
Yeah, we all are!!! 🤘🤘🤘😈😈😈

What a solo! Literally I cried, this song is my adolescence, I can remember me playing Guitar hero Metallica and playing this solo in expert a lot of times.

Metallica always paying it forward and giving respect. Legends.

So awesome man I hope they sounded good.
@@mearndt1 They sounded great!
Tatler played the shit outta that! Everyone was great! I especially loved when all three guitars came together for that chug in unison after the intro! Talk about THICK n HEAVY! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Fan since 84 when I was introduced to you guys when I was 6 years old!! Still rocking with you guys years later
Special moment, performed by 5 special guys. Lots of love from Romania, we can't wait to have you back! 🤘🏻🇷🇴
That is fucking awesome! Great to have Tatler join them on stage for this!
One of the best things about Metallica is that they are still--after all their success and all their fame--genuinely, star-struck fans over the people that inspired them.
Metallica and Diamond Head & Saxon 😎
I so Very VERY GLAD Brian bring Am I Evil? In these Tour M72 and now Full Versión 🎧🎸😎
Well no not really. If you go down that route you'll have to say "and Suicidal Tendencies" and a bunch of others I can't be bothered to list out
I like this kind of stage much better
Metallica look so f**king happy!!! It's so cool to watch!!!
Brings me back to the 90s when I was a teenager banging my head to this song, it made me Evil 🤟
Attended Tons Of Rock and it was actually my first time seeing Metallica live. Quite pleased i got to see this happening. 😊😊
Same here 😁 felt extra blessed when he started talking about Diamonhead and "a song we havent played in a long time"!! My neck is still sore from the headbanging 😂
7:41 solo wow 😮
Some bands simply have more charisma and talent than others. I fell in love with Metallica in '92, and I'm so grateful that they are still alive and kicking ass !!!!!!
Goosebumps and shivers down my spine!
I am glad they took the opportunity to play it in full!
Performing with your inspirations is amazing
tHIS IS WHY WE LOVE METALLICA...........AWESOME LIVE SHOWS BADASS COLLABORATIONS
They sound even heavier with 2 rhythm guitars and a lead. The solo section was freaking awesome!
This brought me to tears!
Hell yeah fire as always, Cliff would be proud.
The full version yes! Great to have Brian up there!
FANTASTIC! I'm Norwegian and I'm so sad that I missed this (Living in South Africa at the moment)! Diamond Head are great!
Love it good job James

One of the most beautiful James vocals I've heard lately. It was great to have Brian Tatler accompany the song.

Love the 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 by the entire band!! 🤘🏻🎸😎
I was there and it was epic 🤘🏽They seemed so happy and like they were enjoying themselves 🙂 well worth the flight to get there 🤘🏽 Great festival.
The first concert I ever went to without my parents was Metallica over 25 years ago now, crazy how good they are still sounding live at this age.
Have to give it to Lars for okaying this 6:20. He makes a mistake on the fill and could’ve easily cut away to a crowd shot and edit the audio to make it seem that it was played flawlessly but instead left in the error
I doubt any of the members review this footage tbh
he just dont care anymore. mistake or not, its a moment in time that should be embrace 🤘🏻
@@beirch If you think they don’t get permission to post a big mistake like that you’re naive. If it’s a 6th flawless video of Enter Sandman of course they probably don’t run it by them but something like this (Rare song with blatant mistake, enough that he has to restart the fill) I’m sure it makes it up the ladder.
@@jd0879 You have no idea what naive means do you? All of them are over 60, they dont give a shit about mistakes, they dont give a shit about this youtube channel. You think they're reviewing footage with their editor telling them what they can and cant put in and what songs to upload?
I can guarantee you the four band members have nothing to do with the channel or what goes on it. They have entire teams to do that for them. They even have a team to hire teams to do that for them.
I can’t describe how fucking cool this is.
I was there with my gf and it was amazing!! Seeing them live for the very first time was very special after knowing of them for three decades. ❤️🔥🤘🔥
