Let us cross our fingers for Bleeding Me and Trapped Under Ice
Trapped under ice was mind blowing 🤘🏼
Fr
Bleeding me was so emotional for james on pinkpop. Cant wait to watch it on the official channel
I think they're going to upload Trapped under Ice and One from Florence
they played Trapped Under Ice in Hockenheim, which was the first time I saw them live, I hope they upload some songs from that show, it was awesome
"Are you sure about this?" - First song of the Encore.
Legend.
Maybe he said that 'cause the crowd doesn't even move
The fact James even attempted to sing a song he sung when he was basically a kid is amazing. they’ve looked pretty good lately
I respect him for being nearly 60 at the time of this around 58 pretty sure and trying to sound like he did on kill em all back when he was 19 in ‘83
@@goldenwolf8081To be fair, he could never really nail this song, even in 83’.
James looking and sounding solid AF. The whole band has been nailing these songs really well lately, like they've found the fountain of youth.
Right now, they're sounding better than ever. They all sound great, Robert and Lars together is just amazing. I'm just loving all I'm hearing from them.
James needs to find the tekneek for this song again cuz his voice is all over the place with the voice cracks again
@@mikeortiz9664 i think he's doin aight all things considered . he kills the pre chorus and chorus tho especially the end one🤘
Kreator
eh...that's a stretch. they're still sloppy AF.
The fuck? Since when did papa have the ability go that high with singing? Very impressive.
The KILL 'EM ALL album shouldn't be missing in any metal collection, otherwise you've missed something. And preferably on LP. 😎🤘🏻
Well said. If you're missing something then you're missing something.
@@whahappend8222 pure poetry
Have it on picture disk album !!! 🤘🤘🤘
Ah yeah, I have the original LP!
"I'm cool I listen to vinyls"
The most underrated metallica song from their youth
Mm no ? you must be very young to think that.
@@Mark.13. i think it's just one of those songs that sounds a billion times better live than on the recording.
@@Mark.13. it’s better thank seek and destroy
ENOUGH WITH THIS UNDERRATED CRAP!!!!!! IT'S FREAKIN' ANNOYING!!!!!!!
I was about to say that.
You know shit is serious when James plays the whole song looking down at his guitar
They definitely have found a sweet spot in their sound and performance! Amazing how they are improving with age
Better than ever in some aspects!
they cut way back on the shows after 2017. I think they do 60 or 100 shows a year now that's it so they make sure they all count.
@@prodigalbrock I think they are at the 30-50 count now which is good.
@@luisugalde6956and there touring currently all in there 60s! There’s a reason there the number 1 metal band in the world and forever will be THEYLL NEVER STOP THEYLL NEVER QUIT CAUSE THERE METALLICA!!🔥🔥
Wow. Hetfield hitting his vintage vocal tones at 60, whilst Axl Rose can't not embarrass himself. Post-covid Metallica is super tight
Axl isn’t as bad as he gets made out to be, he still hits all the notes but his voice just isn’t as powerful but neither is James’s. Vince Neil or Bon Jovi on the other hand….
@@PortlandSucksss I wouldn’t go that far, he was better during the Chinese democracy tours especially from 2006-2010 but he still kills it
This was one of his better vintage vocal performances. On other songs like Ride the Lightning and Trapped Under Ice, his voice cracks like someone going through puberty.
Fair enough. But you have to admit, post-covid Axl's vocals are nearly shot. I can't unhear the Herbert Family Guy voice as he sings now. I say this not as a hater, 'cause I've seen GnR twice since 2009 and the first time (Chinese Democracy) was one of the WORST shows I've ever seen, but the reunion show on the 1st leg I'll never forget.
James whoops Axl's ass all day long on everything...
Color me surprised. This is the tightest I've hear them live in years. James' voice was great, Kirk's solo was spot on, Lars kept tempo. Awesome job.
They’ve been really tight since coming back from Covid. Saw them back in November and the entire show was this clean
They’re tighter than ever now! I think they’ve got Lars using a metronome in-ear!
"Lars kept tempo" LOL that bar is really low 🤣
Almost everything was spot on, except Lars riding his infamous china cymbal. Those cymbals are not made for riding, much too noisy and awful tone. He should ride on a crash instead, but theyre too high I guess?
@@robinleveille3772dude, Who the hell are you too tell the drummer for the biggest band on the planet who he should be playing. He can play anyway he god dam pleases.
How the hell James can sing playing that riff??!!
Even more mind blowing if you remember that it was basically his 2nd year as a frontman
@@deran1983 well yeah, but I mean nowadays, he still can do it!
Practice, practice, and then.... practice!
He's skipping half the notes on this performance
He plays WAY more complicated riffs while singing than that. He's a gangster.
"Through the mist and the madness we are trying to get the message to you"
UNREAL. The quality of these performances is so good given their age. It sounds tight. James gives a amazing vocal performance given that he's 40 ish years older than when he first recorded this. So grateful to have them still able to perform at this level. Amazing
oh my gosh why is it that your breed is absolutely totally committed to type the most sterile, solemn, dismal, preachy e-sermons??? Christ, get a life!
Yes and hope it stays that way for a looooong time...
I concur
@@michaelrichey6783 His guitar playing is already getting worse, you can see it when he plays songs like fight fire with fire:(
@Melor pelor Not Lol, he skips a lot of notes in high speed songs. In Fight Fire with Fire, instead of playing the support notes among the last 2 power chords of the main riff, he just plays the power chords. Stuff like that
James totally nailed here. The more he aged the better he manage to sing Metal Militia, really!
It is understandable amazing, this has to be the nicest metal militia play ever
Why METALLICA don't play MY APOCALYPSE in any Live concerts ??? This song is so UNDERRATED as well very Brutal.
I agree with you. I remember how i was in Moscow and songs from Death Magnetic not sound. That sad, but true
Too fast
Cause Lars
@@КириллВахненко They played it on Moscow' show in 2010 on the second day. As for me the song is rather boring. Not one of my favorites.
It's shit
An intro tape for Metal Militia? Awesome!
I was thinking the same thing!
@@chafdawg2000 Same haha
F / Bb and then:

@@Underdogrecording yes dude! LETS GO
It's bringing tears to my eyes how good they sound at this age and point of their career. I hope i get to see them live at least one more time
2:26 How did he hit those high notes? Simply amazing performance!
Yes, and he is enjoying it.
Unfortunatly, I think he uses autotune for high notes. But if this is the case, it's alright because : first of all James is getting old, and his voice can't be as powerful as it was before ; and second of all he doesn't overuse it.
@Tristan Ribeiro not pitch corrected at all, he's using his head voice. Easier to reach high notes and sounds more powerful than falsetto
@@VitorBarbosa hum... Nevermind. I just thought he used it at 2:04 or 2:15 for example, but it is way more impressive if he doesn't use autotune.
@@VitorBarbosa but again, autotune is like a calculator : you can use it to correct yourself, but many people use it to cheat.
Almost 40 years on, there's no way James can hit those notes like on the original, but holy fuck he gave it his best here... awesome!
James nailed the singing perfectly, it's the good balance between his older more mature and heavy voice with some of those outrageous "80s-james hetfield screams" right where they count! It's one of the better live versions I've heard of the song!
He blows my mind every time.
They are playing it like they are in their 20s again. It's insane! Rebirth of Thrash Metal right there. Those fans are lucky.
Rob's bass over there sounding ferocious. This has always been on my top 3 off of Kill 'Em All. Underrated tune when it comes to the old stuff.
After 40 years and they still kick ass !!!
i been looking this for 6 hours now, is Beautiful
im still looking and listening daily
Oh man chills when James opens his mouth and hits those 1983 notes. This performance is a time machine!
You guys did your 20-year-old selves proud, effing awesome.
I know Cliff was smiling brightly at this and playing his bass in heaven like he was there!
Omg James. I dont know how much improvement his voice can take? Every year is getting better and better
Just unbelievable how James's voice is perfect, and reaches such notes still !!!! | M |
Kill 'Em All is my fav album! My father and i would listen to it whenever we were in the car, and I'm glad to have a vinyl of it from 1985 in my possession, thank you for the pinnacle of the thrash album!
I like Load the most ngl
@@haidee58 love mama said from there!
@@kreatiftroubadour6738 ?
@@haidee58 I like the song "Mama Said" from that album
I wish I had a father like that
Hetfield are playing and singing like never before even passing trough some tough sh1t.
Keep it going, Hetfield, you're such a badass (now more than ever!)
Love from Brazil!!!
This video came out 5 days ago and I’ve shamelessly watched it at least 16 times now. Amazing execution.
Shame and Metallica don't go together!
It has been amazing listening to James' voice on the old material, get better and better, over the last decade or so. I mean, it is an AMAZING feat, that he can pull off those "Kill 'em All" vocals, better than he EVER has. Hell, hats off to the whole band. They just keep getting tighter and tighter, every time I hear them. I love it! :)
Playing everything in Eb standard was a great choice for James's vocals, just not so much for the actual songs (well some of them, specifically the ones in E, others like this one (A) sound great a half step down (Ab/G#)
God they need to play this song more. It’s still very underrated after nearly 40 years.
These live performances just hit different if you've been there yourself! This band has the most passion when playing I've ever seen live! That is what makes Metallica more then great for me. They don't just play music, they live it!
I love the imperfections, because It's what makes This performance unique.
Clean and powerful performance
0:53 can't embrace how I love that single bend, both in the 1983 and live version.
Incredible performance, vocals sounds great, instruments tight af. Sounding better now live than they have for a long time!
They are having fun up there. That's the best part.
Wow, this is amazing. Even from mid or late '80s James lowered his voice when singing songs from their first album, like The Four Horsemen. Seeing him going again for those high notes at his age is great to see. Solid AF
The fact James still hittin them notes and playing that riff is insane
James can still get those high notes!
nope
@@carlosluismendez7392 yes
@@MegaAndyGG I’m gonna agree a bit with the other guy. He really can’t hit the high notes anymore. Specifically in this song and trapped under ice. Love him tho
They aren’t that hard to hit tbh, James is a great singer but his range isn’t that big
Was there and it was amazing ! Lot’s of energy and lot’s of fun. They really seemed to enjoy themselves, and so did the crowd … The whole concert was streamed live on Dutch tv that night. Great gesture from the best and biggest metalband 🤘🏻💪🏻
Man that was amazing, metallica hasn't missed a beat.
Every video they’ve put out from this tour has been amazing.. they are running on full power.
fuck yeah, they killed it. James voice was on point to the original. Keep up the great work, highly impressed!
Classic Metallica 🙌
I was there, shocked everybody when they played it, fucking amazing!
Metallica has been my favorite band since about 1986. love you guys.
This song sounds awesome at 2022.
Thanks for releasing your concerts to your community, long live Metallica family
I live for this moment...
Takes me back to my late teenage years,,,,love it!
When the white “V” comes out, it’s on!
4:11 Bass 🤘
Always a treat when we get deep cuts! 🤘🏼
Out f~ing standing!!!!
Fuckin right, man. Thank you Metallica.
I'd like James to try some of these vocals in studio for a track or 2.
This band kicks ass always.
The message has been received!
Yesssss!!! The vintage Metallica is backkkkkkk. This is the sound I love and miss 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
LONG LIVE METALLICA
James' voice is PHENOMENAL.
This hits me right on the adolescence!!!! METAL MILITIAAAA
METAL MILITIA!!! Awesome
Metal Militia live performance was great. I can't wait to watch from official metallica channel
This is the official channel, no?
@@destructionman1 they put this comment in when it was still in the waiting room
Wow, The Speed, The Precision, Jamez his Vocals. As always What a Awesome Performance guys. Ik hope your Lives are Forever!!
Imagine being nearly 60 years old & trying to keep up with your 20 year old self! Somehow they did lol. Well played lads, well played!
hell yeah metal militia!!! 🤟
What an absolutely astounding performance from the mighty Metallica!! The fact they can all still play and sound this good when they're not exactly 18 any more is mind boggling! James' vocals are almost getting back to the early days of those hard to sing high notes, and he did amazingly well here, sounded bang on!! Lars did a spectacular job too, and indeed so did Rob and Kirk...Very very tight performance....Well done fellas!! \m/
I've seen this more than 10 times already
Please!! Upload Bleeding Me from Landgraaf. That song was even more then awesome!!
Phantom Lord, Jump in the Fire and Call of Ktulu!! True Metallica rivethead
Saúde vocal que fala!
Sonzeira, James e banda toda arrebentando!
What a festival was Pinkpop 2022! I was one of the lucky 70.000 to be here and see Nightwish, Volbeat, Kaleo, Turnstile, Nothing but Thieves, 21 Pilots, Deftones, Imagine Dragons, Nile Rodgers and many many others. And above this all we got Pearl Jam and Metallica preforming better then we have seen them do for a long time. These 3 days are never to be forgotten🤘🏻
Amazing singing!!!!
One of my favorites!! Wish I was there!!
I read that james felt depressed before going on stage, his mind messing with him that his old.. The older he gets and as long as he keeps playing the more of a legend he will become.
Best Metallica tune from there masterpiece 'Kill em all' .............Iron clad soldiers .
Interesting that they played this only in The Netherlands so far. Rest of the tour (including Prague where I saw them) they played Damage Inc. as the first encore.
METALLICA RULES SINCE 1981!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PERFECT PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's really epic to hear james sing and play with confidence like james hetfield again i loved every bit of it.
Amazing vocal!!!
Wow , what an oldie but a goodie! You guys nailed this, thank you for sharing! Much love from Utah USA
2:32 James knows that he has his voice back! Nice!
This is a track that sums up what Heavy Metal is all about! Masterpiece indeed!
My lord.. This Vocal is amazing!!
ABSOLUTELY SHREDDING!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
I'm watching metallica for days and don't realise what happened HAVE YOU SEEN LARS! And i hear bass!!! They sound greater than ever
Metal Militia
40 years later and they still rock it, So impressive.🤘
Damn, bass loud af, with nasty distortion 🤘 keep it up my friends!
This is amazing to watch. Gives me goosebumps to see this old stuff performed live still. Well done fellas!!!
finally lars is taking drumming practice seriously again
I love this song! (and my kids (7 and 11) as well!) Thank you James, Lars, Kirk and Robert for still doing this
Minha música favorita do kill em all 🤘
It’s a beautiful thing to see the spark of youth again in their playing. I think the vibe has spread throughout the entire Metallica community. I’m 46 and watching these guys since they started the tour has gotten me younger again. I quit drinking and drugs when inamorata hit my ears, moved back to my home town and started body building and playing guitar again and have never felt happier. Music is a magical spiritual gift! God bless Metallica!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🙏🙏
Isso é o Metallica que todo mundo gosta de escutar !
Compare James' vocals here to his performance of Metal Militia at the 30th anniversary show in 2011. He's gotten so much betterthese past 10 years!
Absolutley!
