Are FARER watches as GOOD as everyone says? ⌚🤔 Chrono-Contempo reviewed!

- I bought a Farer Universal Chronograph watch, from the Farer Chrono-Contempo range. This was not a watch purchase I took lightly, in-fact it's quite a lot of money to spend on a new watch brand and not a watch that I could try in advance. However the watch community INSISTS that Farer are a truly great brand... and we should all give them a go...was the community right, is the hype justified for these watches?

Too add a small update - I have since received the official integrated rubber strap and it's a total game changer. Way more comfortable, suits the watch perfectly and elevates the whole package to kind of where I wanted it to start with. I have a channel update video that's shows this off posted just after this one - if you're curious... 🙂👍
I have this watch and agree - the orange bezel is so striking and beautiful. This is my summer chrono.
I have two Farers.Classic Chrono Jackson and Aquatmatic Freshwater.Great pieces and perfect finish.Bracelet and two straps good value.
Excellent Review! Yes it's the colours that are the standout point with Farer. So much so that I bought a Farer Bernina with White, Red and Blue. The attention to detail is phenomenal. White white dial has cream subdials and the overall look is captivating. Really do wish it was at least 42mm though so that my aging eyes could appreciate it more!
Nice 👌... the red and white contrast is another home run from Farer on the Bernina... and I bet it's a pleasure to wear being titanium 👍
I agree with you about the overall design. It’s very attractive. However, the misaligned chrono seconds hand would drive me nuts, and for that price I’d have sent it back for adjustment or replacement. The lume, on the other hand, wouldn’t bother me at all - I can’t see well enough without my glasses to read it at night anyway :)
Maybe I should email farer and I'm a little too forgiving? Haha yeah I'm also pretty non fussed about the lume 😆 I can't remember ever using a bezel insert at night seriously. Cheers as always for watching chief 😆🍻

Great review. Question, how does this watch wind? Does it have over wind protection such that it allows winding passing the max power reserve?
It doesn't have a clutch like an auto - so you know to stop winding when it starts to get stiff, like most manual winds I've owned in all fairness I haven't yet had a clutch on a manual. 🙂👍. I imagine it'll be pretty durable as a top tier ETA movement, you'd have to deliberately wind it with aggression way past the natural stopping point to damage the spring. Hopefully that helps? 🙌
I like the Farer “RESOLUTE SORBET” but currently sold out. Also not sure if 36mm watch diameter is too small for my big wrist. Mostly wear around 40mm watches. Thanks for the feedback.
I have a wonderful Farer Pendine - beautiful watch. Unfortunately it stopped working after around two years. Five attempts to contact Farer through their website. Not one single reply. Looks like I'm on my own in trying to get my watch working again.
That's a shocking one to hear - have you had any luck since posting this comment? I have contacted them a few times regarding a strap order that got lost and did have to wait 1-3 days for reply. Keen to hear how this develops and sorry to hear of the issues, you're right I looked it up and it's a beautiful watch.

I like the colour and design but dont enjoy the glossiness of the dial. I feel it would look more premium with a matte finish. Cool movement though, impressive power reserve.
I hear you 🙌 - it's worth to note that my studio lights make everything super reflective and shiny so it's more accurate for most scenarios I guess in the natural light shots, where it's less shiny and a bit more toned down 😆...I just need the power of the studio lights to get all the texture and details in decent quality 😀....cheers for the comments an watching the vid 😎🍻
I don't have a Farer but really like their designs and sizing for my slim wrist. This looks a lovely watch at a reasonable price for a mechanical chrono and sensibly sized. After your review I'm very tempted but I'd go for the Chalcot with the green dial, orange chrono seconds hand and the oversized minute sub-dial, all of which gives better contrast and legibility I think. Also wish they had a bracelet option but you can't have everything.
That Chalcot is also such a cool crisp piece especially with summer coming up, and the oversize subdial is 👌 - agreed on the bracelet if they release one that fits this case I'll be first in line to buy it. Currently waiting for delivery of the fitted rubber on mine 🙂
Just put on my Farer Lander IV Kano (GMT, 36mm, pink sunburst dial). It's a beauty. Currently on a Hirsch leather strap.

I’ve had no QC issues dealing with Farer. But I know that sometimes people may have them. But to be honest, I don’t see your issues. Your watch looks fine to me. I watched this on mobile so maybe something didn’t come across.
Yeah it's hard to capture on camera, particularly the misalignment on the chrono hand. I wouldn't be an honest reviewer if I didn't tell you how it is 🙂
Cool looking watch, but yeah that strap needs to go. It does nothing to bring out the vibrant colors of the watch and to have it not be comfortable is disappointing. I would love to see an orange or white FKM strap on it. I also agree that’s a lot of $ to have those QC issues and you’re quite right to bring them up and be annoyed. Microbrands offer cool aesthetics, but at this price, I feel better spending my money on established brands. Enjoy it though, it’s a cool watch for sure! Another great vid!
Thanks mate 🙂🍻 - it does always feel like a safer place for your money with the traditional brands. I have ordered the official integrated blue FKM and actually for summer your idea of white is a great suggestion...I didn't think of that but I think I'll get something ordered up 😅 equally if I can find a good match for orange fkm, definitely!
