Yo
Great shots of the watch!
Farer is such a great watch company. Love the colors they use. The Stanhope II is such a nice piece.
Awesome watch!
I had to subscribe. The quality of your content is top notch. You’re also talking about some other brands that deserve some limelight.
Played out quite well that Farer won the contest.
I appreciate the effort they made to decorate the movement. Makes you want to show it off much more
I just bought the "Meredith" and upon arrival it exceeded my expectations. This was the first expensive watch (for me) that I've purchased myself and I was a bit apprehensive about plunking down that much money for a non-mainstream brand. I've had my eye on several from Hamilton, Sinn, Oris, Damasko and Stowa. But the design, the story and features of this watch were in a class of their own. Even the name and the production number I was able to choose have a very special meaning to me. This will not be the last Farer watch in my collection. I'm a fan.
Interesting brand. Didn't know you did a face-off against other microbrands and this is a great idea. Never knew much about Farer and will have to do more research. Thanks for a great overview/review. Was also surprised to see Norquain and Chris Ward on here as I thought they would be higher volume. Will be looking out for more content like this.
I’ve only heard of Farer in passing but, having just checked their website and must say that this is one of my new favourite microbrands, the cushion shape piece is quite unique!
awesome video Max! Thank you for everything that you're doing for this community!
Thanks Joseph for your support!
pithy, to the point, interesting, short and sweet and no stoopid introduction. thank you!
Cheers Ed 👍
Great video Max!!, as always. I have been in love with this brand for some time now and agree with you on the dedication to detail and design of this micro-brand. I hope to be able to enjoy it one day and I hope it will be soon, hehe. Good luck to all!!
Max has a very unique way of talking about these mechanical machines. His laid back yet very knowledgeable approach makes him one of the top guys in our crazy little hobby. Keep up the great work Max 👏
Hardly can live up to the high praise, thanks Miguel, your positivity is infectious 👌😎
@@WatchCrunchOfficial ❤️
There getting sued by starfleet
I have a Fairford an absolutely love it. I wouldn't say it beats my CW Worldglow, but that might just be the difference in price rather than the brand. The Fairford is so easy to wear, the colours are fun but not distracting and the use of the split second ETA movement is really unusual and gives it a party trick that I never get tired of.
Great video Max, thanks for all that you and everyone @ Watch Crunch do for the community.
Cheers buddy 🍻
Agree. Farer has stood out as something special since their first models.
My wife and I recently bought and received matching Resolute II and Resolute 36mm and they are beautiful. We’re absolutely love them.
Superb video I'm new to the whole watch collecting, your videos are helping greatly. Found out about Farer a month ago .Trying to find the Pendine2 stunning watch.great informative video, thank you
I’m really enjoying these videos. This is a great watch!
I really dig that "squarish tier" that is melted and draped over the case. It's a really cool mix of sharp angles and curves.
Great video and great to see Farer getting some love. I bought the Farer Cobb monopusher a few weeks ago and absolutely love it!
Oh I love that blue dial 😍
Great review! I agree with everything you said being an owner of the Farer Mansfield (the green one) with the same case! Awesome piece!
Love the attention to details which FARER had put into this watch. A beautiful and charismatic watch.
I love this watch! Had my eye on it for some time. Thanks for the opportunity to get one! 😎👍🏼
Cheers and G'luck 👍
Great vid. Love the design, nice and simple but full of detail at the same time. Cost though....might just think about the AnOrdain and pay that little bit extra for it.
Some interesting micros I hadn't heard of and will check out. Also some interesting omissions, eg Helm, Phoibus, Vario.
This is the best video you’ve done so far!! Bravo
Aw thanks Ryan 👍
Great video and thank you for opening my eyes to Farer! This piece is actually surprisingly spectacular! I hope I win it!
Thanks for a great video Max. I came close to ordering the MR01 but baulked at the quality of the movement. The Stanhope on the other hand has it all, quality, looks, fit and affordability.
Exactly the reason I sold my MR01 😢
@@WatchCrunchOfficial Hi Max. I received an email letting me know that I have been short listed and asked me to acknowledge my prize. Do I do this here?
I don't know if Farer is the nest microbrand out there, but for sure it's one of the best. I haven't one yet in my collection, but I'm considering different models from their line up. Probably in the future I will add one to my collection.
What a fun challenge!
I’m a bit surprised with the winner but not disappointed as I own a Lander IV from Farer and a MR01 in salmon from Baltic. I would have reversed the final outcome but hey they’re both great and worthy.
I love my Vaer D5 Pacific diver, but Farer is definitely on my list!
The movement isn’t just swiss, the whole watch is. They are made white label by Roventa Henex. They make this very clear in all their literature and even on the caseback: “british design x swiss made.” The transparency is admirable and they are a leader amongst microbrands in mvt. (Christipher Ward has had to play catch up) My Lander IV Sellita is top grade and keeps time as well as my Rolex superlative chronometers.
Awesome info, good on Farer 👍
What do you mean catch up? CWard has its own movements.
Lovely watch. I really like the colour palettes used in the different Farer watches. So many watches are monochromatic.
To be honest, I never heard of this brand of watches. Thank you for bringing it to my eyes, and I'm so fascinated of the design. Good luck to everyone.
Cheers 👍
Thank you for another slickly edited and informative video. Was looking hard at the Lethbridge but this Stanhope II looks fantastic and more playful. The Star Trek insignia only adds to my lust for this watch! 😂 Waiting to see if lust will turn into love before pulling the trigger!
They ship soon. I went with the Lethbridge.
Got to check out Farer in person at the Wind Up in SF. Cool designs and colors for sure!
Oh I'm going this month in Chicago!
I was interested to see a review of this model, after FARER took the WC crown. Great review!
Thanks! They deserve the win 👍
Love the channel and love this Farer watch. I’m in the market for a while dial Summer watch!
Love this watch, it's so versatile, I could dress it up with a nice suit or wear it with jeans and a nice polo shirt. Big thumbs up. 👍🏾
Level of refinement for a micro brand looks really impressive. Im really intrigued now.
Great review. Looks like a very nice watch. It’s nice to see these micro brands step it up.
Yeah they are on another level!
I just ordered the latest Endeavor Aqua compressor titanium white dial. I can’t wait. A buddy has had the black dial for 6 months now and wears it almost daily. The quality of this watch is quite good and I see why it won in this micro brand face-off. I also have a Vaer, which was a big mistake.
Sinceramente non avevo mai preso seriamente in considerazione questo marchio... ma mi devo ricredere! tanto questo modello, quanto gli altri, sono veramente originali
This particular model really speaks to me, the dial and case shape are both winners 🏆
Love this watch & what Farer is doing with colors and design philosophy. 👍🏻🇫🇮
I voted Baltic, but you convinced me than Farer deserved the win. Amazing attention to detail! 👏👏👏
Both awesome choices!
That watch has a real retro classic look, beautiful.
Like the looks of Farer. Very nice and thanks for giving us a chance to win one.
Cheers mark 👍
I own 3 farer, it just a great design and very refreshing. I think my collection will get larger...
Pique is a weave pattern used in white tie attire, it's a very formal pattern.
Menswear Expert and Master Tailor
While I am fond of Farer and of this lovely piece, it's the initiative of the microbrand challenge that I appreciate even more. Many microbrands around the world are underrated and collectively, they deserve to more attention.
The microbrand challenge clearly helps (congrats to Farer). Thank you for stirring the discussion up!
no one mentioned Steinhart (Rolex Homage)
Great video. Farer definitely is one of the most intresting microbrands.
Excellent Segment. An Eye Opening about Microbrand Watch. Kudos.
This is a quality micro brand, and they have another interesting and beautiful piece.
Beautiful watch indeed. Would like to explore other contestants in the tournament.
Very interesting video, thanks for pulling it together ... the Farer you reviewed is clearly an impressive watch! Fingers crossed that you pull my name to win it! :)
Cheers and G'luck Tony 👍
Just picked up the Stanhope II, great time piece!
I own a lot of micro brand watches and I think Farer and Christopher Ward are hardly micros anymore, they get pretty expensive and their output is huge compared to other micros. That being said, I agree that Farer makes a hell of a watch, I own the Farer Lander Chrono and it is easily the most beautiful Chrono in my 30+ collection. I would say this... Halios vs Baltic is a really tough one to call, I would have gone Halios because they have the best bracelet in the micro space hands down (get a Halios Fairwind or Universal and you'll see who hard is is to beat those 2 watches with ANYTHING that Baltic could throw at them). Great content!!
I am waiting for Halios to fairwind 5. Love the yellow.
Great looking piece. Sold (unfortunately) my Resolute piece. This would be a nice replacement and thank you
Love Farer, and this one in particular , hope I win and that’ll be the best gift of this summer to me
I fulfilled requirements for the giveaway. Thanks for showing us a way to join a disscusion.
Love the design inside. And out
Gorgeous watches. Great video. Thanks.
Thanks for the opportunity! Good luck everyone!
Fingers crossed. Would love to win such a great watch, brilliant British brand
No Instagram, so maybe next time, but I really enjoyed the video. Baltic watches look amazing btw
The new Baily moonphase in green has won my heart!
What a watch😲🤤, i dont like white but when there is blue and red. It looks so good and and the polish Numbers. It reminds me of longines dial but a little more affordable. Now one me list 😅
Great watch. Your giving teddy baldessarre a run for his money!!!
Haha, no one can match Teddy...and O'Leary 😂
Piqué is a french word. It can be a type of fabric or also means a bite. Like a bug bite. In that case I think it refers to a fabric like pattern. Great watch!
Yet another generous giveaway. Thanks Max!
Cheers! 🍻
Great video! I agree farer is pretty bomb
Great watch, wish there were more!
Yeah they should've made 2000 😂
A very good review. Thank you very mutch. And stay also crunchy 👌see you next time.
Stay crunchy 😉
You just drew my attention to this brand.
Wow... this watch is great. Its everything i would want in a watch.... thin frame, 39mm, retro feeling cushion shape with enough color to keep it interesting. I especially like the the markers at 3, 9 and 12, like the Rolex explorer (which has them on 3, 6 and 9), which i love but cant afford. Wonder how appropriate it would look in a formal setting.
Note of import: would have loved if you could have done a lume-shot...i hope it does have some lume.
Yeah I ran out of time for lume. Not a whole lot there, just hands and lil plots on the periphery
My only micro band watch is a Marloe Derwent Gauge, also a British company. Take a look to it!
Fantastic watch, sadly one I could never afford and probably never win as Instagram is not something I do or want to do. Good luck to all those that do
I believe Laine and AnOrdain is on another level. Both in build and aesthetic
Great watch, I’d buy one if I could, not a snowflake in sight too😊 oh and definitely Trekish too👍🏽
Trekish 😂. Love it!
Great video. Nice watches.
Nice one, Max! Such a unique watch.
Thanks Joel 👍
I got one of these on day one, #44, love it
I've owned four Farers and they are indeed lovely, well-built watches. But as you suggest, their online ads -- essentially mini documentaries with a dramatic '60s flair -- are magnificent and a key ingredient in their success. [P.s. - Pique is a weaving technique used in things like polo shirts.]
Love these watch movies 😎
Would recommend Helm. Fantastic micro. I dont want another watch after getting a Miyako
Oh I'll look into them👍
Such a beautiful watch. I'd love to win it!
Farer is the best for many reasons... Lets start by the first impression...
The fact that you mentioned star trek put you at the top of the list for watch reviewers
Whew, there's at least 2 of us here!
!!!! Seriously?
I got liv watches they are solid well made they are different just amazed they are never included in with all the micro brands
Another great review
I like Farer and think it’s worth being in the top tier of microbrands. But I still feel like Monta or Baltic should have won.
I received the same message above. This is spam right!?
@@jamesibanez3642 yes
Monta is the clear champ in my view.
Steinhart
Helios should have won. None of your money is going to marketing with them. All into the watch. A good portion of your money is going to marketing with the farmer. So lower build quality.
Beautiful watch
Hi Max, stumbled on your channel and really enjoying content and video edit. Curious if you have an opinion on LIV watches( also micro brand)… with a definite good story. New subscriber 🇨🇦 cheers
Thanks Tomy! Welcome. I've seen Liv ads, haven't seen a design that really speaks to me yet
I like the cushion case. Overpolished though.
Lovely watch. Size, shape, dial and the details. Cheers.
The proportions are so perfect 👌
Please review the new Light Side of the Moon!!! The Burbidge model with baby blue is sick!!
Agreed! I'm giving one to my wife today for her 35th. #35 of the Burbidge - pretty cool you can pick your number! I'm amazed this watch isn't making waves on RUclips
ooooh bold. I'd say that Monta is king but love Farer as well!
Great watch
Just got a aquamatic farer. Wow. Just wow.
I like the brand image, details and quality seem very good. Tried to find one to fall in love with but failed. The design and the color compilation didn't catch my eyes. It is always a little off-beat which makes you think, e.g. if they do the hands in red instead of bright orange and turquoise, I will go for it.
Great watch, very beautiful and good construction
Definitely 👌
If you keep going, this channel will blow up. You're a great presenter. Call it snobbery, but it isn't just a story I need, it is heritage (which I suppose is a story of a certain age, that has endured through time). I literally write fiction, and it didn't occur to me until you said it, that it is perhaps the "stories" that is why I love watches. I thought it was the mechanisms and designs, but perhaps this explains why I only go for watches with heritage. That was eye-opening. A watch doesn't need to be expensive. I just picked up a Bulova "Hack" watch, and yeah, it's their American military heritage that did it for me.
Thanks! Totally agree with you 👍
