If all watch companies CEOs could be as passionate and genuinely interesting as this gentleman.
And create such stunning designs!
We can only wish good luck to this passionate chap.
It's interviews such as this one that can really draw me to a watch company. Seeing Nicholas humbly sharing his passion and history draws me closer to the brand. And the watches themselves are very attractive. Wishing Fears all the best (and I may very well be a customer some day).
Thanks for watching Tom.
I'll just stick to Patek or AP. These watches do not command the same respect I'm my opinion
@@clegsmegson2627 I'm not sure if you are making the correct comparison. I'm not sure a $3k watch is intended to be compared to such brands.
Interesting story. The gentleman seems passionate about the history and the brand. I like it. Not my style of case but I'll keep an eye out.
@Cleg Smegson more like Cleg Smugson
@@clegsmegson2627 Yes Patek and AP are the obvious comparisons you utter Cretin
Those skeleton hands against those raised numerals just look FANTASTIC.
I love the Fears watch company massively, Nicholas took time out of his busy schedule and gave a tour with myself and wife around Bristol and the history of fears. Firstly anyone that runs a business will understand that time is so precious and I can’t imagine a CEO of Swiss watch company doing this!
Even if you are not a fan of the watches we have to admit this is a great thing for our hobby! I can’t wait to see more from Fears!
Was he nice in person? I got some weird vibes from him in this video.
ausleys chevelle the only weirdness on our meet would of come from me 😂
The nicest most genuine person you can meet. Also Adrian is a little cherub, I haven’t actually met Adrian but he keeps sending me love DMs on Instagram. He’s only human is suppose 😍
“I look like a sack of potatoes” being a dad myself that actually made me laugh out loud
Haha. 🙌🏻
I could listen to this guy talk about watches for hours. Seems like a genuine guy who actually cares about the products he's putting out to market. Great video as always :-)
Truly beautiful watches with correctly sized cushion cases at 38mm. Pure class!
that was a great interview - letting the man eloquently explain the brand, history, stories. proper job and lovely wrist candy. well done.
This guy epitomises the phrase ‘buy the seller’.
Brilliant little interview loved the history could listen all day about watches
Never heard of fears , thank you bark n jack , this is an eye opener of the watch companies out there , I really enjoyed this episode 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Thanks for watching Nicholas. 👍🏻
@@mozebulbulia but it is a stunning watch
I’ve watched this interview at least 4 times now (and I’m back after 2 years!) and it’s just so great and genuine. Love Nick and hope to own a fears watch one day. Thanks for this one Adrian!
Nicholas‘s story is massively interesting and compelling. Thanks for bringing it to us.
Thanks for featuring Nicholas. He’s such a sweetheart! We had him on our podcast and he is the kindest guy in the world. His new releases are beautiful and the attention to detail is incredible. Thank you again Adrian!
Miguel
Thanks for watching Miguel. Nicholas really is a nice chap.
Love the simplicity of the designs. Utterly classic beautiful watches. Going to investigate further
What a remarkable “show & tell” an absolute joy to listen to the history of a British Company 🚒👍
Love this format of videos, please do more of such interview! :) Thanks!
That salmon dial is a lovely watch but seems quite expensive. There is a lot of options for that price. Enjoyed the interview and I will certainly keep an eye on Fears Watches.
Neil Wade maybe a fab Tudor for that money my friend ??👍👍🇬🇧
Exactly what i was thinking...
I somewhat disagree ☺️ You are paying for a highly customised hand finished watch. The additional man hours that goes into the finishing means that you are getting effectively a hand made product. I own and have owned brands like rolex and omega and as I get older I appreciate product made with more attention to detail
@@Philippe_R maybe the case, dial, and hands are hand finished but that movement is a different story. For someone that worked at final quality control at rolex he certainly has let his standards drop for his own company. Take a look at 7:12 there is an enormous scratch across the balance shock setting. Even on a rolex with no display backing this would not be acceptable.
His brand is embarrassing. Anyone walking into my boardroom with those garbage watches will be sent out! Sort of thing a little girl wears
That was not only a gorgeous set of watches, particularly the salmon one, but an amazing story. Great episode Adrian...wish It had been longer!
Terrific video indeed. Just wish Adrian had gone to the trouble to actually "get dressed" for this interview. "Sack of potatoes" or not. Nothing a blazer and cleaned pressed dress shirt from the dry cleaners couldn't have solved. Ho'hum... Jus' sayin'.
just checked the Fears website...beautiful work!
Great content Adrian, awesome to see a discussion on a British brand with such great history.
Thanks for watching Chris.
Adrian, you have become an indispensable steward of all things watches. George Plimpton used to refer to himself as a Participatory Journalist. While unobtrusively availing yourself of all modern technologies, you do an incredible job of bringing us into your journey. And it's a gift to be here with you.
Nicholas is seriously one of the most amazing people out there! Absolutely love hearing his passion for Fears and the watches they produce.
Agree 1000% friend!
He seems very disconnected to the brand. You can’t just go from taking one passion then to another in just 7 months and taking advise from your mother on watch brand. So many people in the watch world are breathing watches before they even to claim a brand new line of watches. The price point of these is what triggered me to comment. If Fears are 3K then Seiko have to be starting price at 100K.
Thx for highlighting this brand. I’m already waiting for my watch to arrive
Brilliant episode...The moment he said that his mom told him to restart the family watch company...ahh I had goosebumps all over my body...loved it...Liked the watches but too expensive for me currently but one day.....
The Panerai look in a normal size! *_Well done._*
I listened to the podcast first and now I've watched the interview. It's great hearing someone passionate about what he does, seeing the effort he puts into his work. The watches look great.
Absolutely love the story, the watch itself (yes - that includes the ETA), the brilliant chap behind it all - and the honesty! Great video 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Cracking interview Adrian, informative and entertaining. Lovely watches too.
Thanks for watching Simon and glad you liked it. 👍🏻
That’s the best watch video I have seen. What a perfect gentleman presenting some of his beautiful British watches. Great interview Adrian. Loved every minute.
Absolutely fantastic to showcase a brand such as this, well done!
That man looks like he's in his 20s, and talks like he's well in his 50s. And actually he is 30 odd years old. He kind of gives this vibe of amassing all the knowledge and heritage of previous generations. Weird, but it makes sense that they manufacture these incredible timepieces. I also like that they don't overthink the movement, it really is a nicely finished and regulated ETA, that is nothing to be embarrassed about, but also doesn't make owning and maintaining the watch super expensive.
I agree. I'm a straight man but would absolutely get on his old boy in a instant. Think he might be up for it too. To be honest, his company is pure bin - I only wear Patek or AP, which actually impresses people - only this.
These watches are *NOT* inexpensive.
@@clegsmegson2627: *_"...straight man but would absolutely get on his old boy..."
@@joeskeptical4762 I'm trans - you got a problem with that? GET OVER IT
@@joeskeptical4762 yeah, no one said they are. I said owning and maintaining them isn't super expensive. They are high end, premium watches, of course they aren't inexpensive.
This is such new and refreshing content! very good
What a fantastic interview! After 2 minutes and I am thinking, "what a nice guy!" Beautiful watches, best wishes and continued success!
What a great video Adrian, very nice to see this interviews. Great sound and quality.
Lovely history from this great watch makers what a history and heritage.
I have to say that this video is one of your best. The production levels are amazing and of course this is helped by Nicholas ( Fears Watches ). Keep up the great work Adrian.
Great video. Coming from Bristol I know all about FEARS watches, so was a little surprised that Bristol wasn’t even mentioned when talking about the heritage of the company. Especially as they started in and spent most of their history in Bristol. Even down to most of their watches are named after Bristol areas and landmarks.
The full conversation will be posted tomorrow. He talks about Bristol in that. 👍🏻
Good to here. I look forward to it, as I do all your videos. Thanks for replying Adrian 👍🏼
Super interesting. I recall reading about the owner working in a supermarket to help keep the company running and pay his staff. Really cool guy and hope it all works out well for him.
Oh finally a Bark and Jack video. Be right back gunna grab a coffee...
☕️
Loved it. Thanks for spotlighting
I've been following Nicholas and Fears since Salon 2016. So happy for him, such a nice humble guy. I hope to own a Fears one day- beautiful watches
Great interview and love Nicholas passion. Plus I am Bristol born and bred so the brand has more of a link with me. I will be getting one 100% - been following them for a few months now. Great work Adrian.
Thanks for watching Jason. Nicholas is very proud of the Bristol connection. We talk more about it in the full length unedited conversation that will be uploaded today. 👍🏻
Listened to this interview on your podcast, so good!
This is a very well thought out classic looking watch.
I really do appreciate the effort here.
Will check out the website.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Excellent video Adrian. Great chat. Wishing this young man all the luck in the world in his venture. His watches are beautiful. That salmon dial (chef’s kiss). The design is not for everyone but that’s precisely the point. THIS is something unique and special that needs to be amplified by channels like this. Thanks Adrian for shining a light. 👏🏼
Amazing interview and watches 👍🏻 Adrian, your channel pulled me into YT as well as Instagram and further increased my watch passion - thank you 🙏🏻
This was a great interview! Superb content
Dragons den judges have a wrestling match and punch-up to sign him up 😂
Seriously, lovely humble guy...great watches and love the ‘Paneresque’ cushion case. Brilliant vid!
That Salmon dial is sublime.
Very nicely done.
Another great video Adrian, thank you for introducing to me (to us) such a nice chap as Nicholas. I absolutely love the "old" gold watch. Will start saving, then perhaps, one day...
I never get tired of seeing Nicholas in an interview about Fears. I love the story, love the watches, and those hands are magnificent. I was aiming at getting a Brunswick Blue at some point, but now there's that Salmon! Wow. Amazing stuff, and I hope Fears IS around well past Nicholas' 80th birthday.
Great vid, great interview, which has all culminated in my interest for the brand. Cheers!
Great brand and loved the video of two chaps sitting and talking watches. More should be like this. Great respect for Fears. Love my Brunswick Blue. Tempted by the new versions. Keep it up Fears.
Great interview. Finding out your family heritage of watchmaking is like striking gold. What a 'lightbulb " moment. Priceless. The name Fears sounds like a new microbrand but nice to know it has heritage. Love the interview.
Wow thank you for putting that company on my map. On the lookout for a dressy watch, their Brunswick Blue has made an impression. My search isnt done quite yet, but she is on the list now.
Great interview. Nicholas is such a great guy. Needs to swing by NYC again.
Stunning watches, thanks for sharing
What a fascinating backstory behind the company of today. Thanks for sharing. I heard him on Tenn & Two a while back. Would love to own one of his watches one day.
Love this style of video for you Adrian
Thanks for watching James and glad you liked it. 👍🏻
Really enjoyed hearing Nicholas talk about his journey and the new watches. The Midas looks stunning 👌🏻 Thanks for sharing the story Adrian 👍🏻
Great episode and beautiful pieces :)
Was hanging off his every word. Great to capture Nick in his element. Good stuff, Adrian!
This was a awesome discussion I loved it. This video sold me on Fears.
10:28 Totally saw that coming
Good to see a genuine chap who is obviously passionate about his family trade. Good luck to them, I hope one day I can afford one.
Thanks Adrian, good episode 👍🏻👍🏻
Always loved the Midas! Looks great in the video, glad to see Fears on the channel.
Great video and hope the guy does well, nice to see a few British watch companies getting off the ground.
Beautiful each watch ... absolutely gorgeous.
First became aware of this brand when a pal of mine bought one of their vintage pieces (circa 1950) and asked me to check out the movement (a Felsa, if memory serves). Interesting to know a little more about their heritage. Thanks for the video Adrian.
Very interesting! More videos on British brands will be great to see. Also, maybe worth a video on a rundown on British watch brands from the past?
2 guys with a passion for massive passion for watches. What could top that? The new models are really stunning, however still love the white dial myself. Cracking stuff. 👏👏👏
In terms of finish on those hands, he is miles away from like Tudor. Where is the asking price of £3,100 coming from? Like you said, there are a lot of watchmaking companies that's gonna bankrupt after the COVID-19 Pandemic. Cut the prices - make watches more affordable - learn from Chinese; Huawei, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme. Started cheap once they built some reputation they slowly increased the price. I can design watch - source ETA movement and put it together in China and ask for £2000... This is not the way IMHO... Beautifull reissue watches btw I love it.
Totally love that each watch is named after Fear's addresses in Bristol. I'm thinking grail watch for me.
Heading to Fears right now. Stunningly beautiful!. Well done.
Fantastic interview brilliant to see British watches making a statement.
Thanks
This is great! Thanks for sharing this with us!
Love the peseaux 7001 movement - never had a bad one. The cushion case is also a favourite, these are right in my wheelhouse. I'll have to think about this but I'm quite smitten by the blue.😍😍 - Really good content Adrian.
Great video Adrian. I really enjoyed watching and learning about an English watch company.
Pay attention, people. This is how a watch can be high-end, while having an ETA movement.
Lovely looking watches, and I do appreciate the well-considered and executed dials and numerals. I wish the company well.
Amazing story and watches! Thank you!
Great story , Huge history , fantastic manual work : thank you Adrian !
Beautiful watches. Hands, numerals and finishing elevate these above the norm. The salmon dial and gold case are particularly well done I think.
Thanks so much for such an informative, interesting discussion. I was not aware of Fears history or brand but I went straight to their site and what beautiful, elegant timepieces. 🥰 Thank you for sharing
Adrain, great interview, posh, training spotting geek, owners a watch company, brilliant Omega seamster GMT as his grail is cool choice
Nailed the designs, beautiful and elegant with amazing attention to detail.
Nice looking watches. Love the cushion case and the numerals.
Outstanding video, absolutely love these independent /artisan craftsmen watches. More content like this please 👍👌
How wonderful to see the resurrection of a British watch company by the same family. 👍
(4:50) So inspiring, so unique, so wonderful, so... enough superlatives. Best of luck to Nicholas and Fears!
Very nice looking watch, with great attention to detail. Great interview.
Damn, I love those watches. Thanks Adrian for shining a light on this watch maker.
I like these. The case designs have a strong Panerai look that I love.
What a nice entertaining and most of all inspiring discussion 👍
Thank you, Adrian, for shining a light on a small company swinging against the big guys.
I think that Fears is more worthy of both notice and support than brands under the umbrellas of Rolex, Swatch, LVMH or Richemont. Fears is a British brand devoted to showing the craft of horology as applied to cases, dials and hand sets.
Love these designs. Simple with high quality finishes.
Great vid Adrian, more on this fascinating brand!! 👍
welp, I need one of these. lovely family story and stunning watches.
