The mammoth hunting scene on the wall was Manny's family so his taking care of the human baby is quite the noble act.
Yeah, it was already a nice gesture to help the baby, but when you realize Manny's history with humans, what he does is honestly incredible. Really love that part of the film

@@marcusfridh8489 It was confirmed by the creators that it was Manny's wife and child who were killed by humans. In the flashback cave painting we see Manny separated from them while the female and child are cornered
@@marcusfridh8489 Manny wasn’t the child. The child was Manny’s kid. The whole reason why Manny finally opened up and let the baby hug him was because he reminded him of his kid.

Yeah, I loved how serious Manny's tragic backstory turned out to be, it made his choice to help the baby so much more meaningful

It was kind of weird that he just randomly showed up and was fine. Not only that but he just made it in time to say goodbye.
@@Nameless82284 because it was divine intervention, hehe! No really I have been a part of the Ice Age fandom online since 2010 and that is one of the biggest fan theories to try and explain Diego's Unexplained Recovery at the end.
I havent watched this film in years so I'm just now realizing how much Sid and Mannys introduction to each other mirrors Shrek and Donkeys....we really liked this particular character dynamic in the early 2000s, didn't we?

I will never forget the moment in Cinema we saw scrat for the first time, destroing the ice. We were laughing like crazy and the whole cinema went crazy when we realised: this wasn't a funny short film before the movie, but a Trailer! I think I was never in my life as hyped for a movie than the weeks before the Ice Age release.
Scrat (the squirrel) is always having a rough time, dude never gets a break 😅 also fun fact the voice actor for Sid is the same for Bruno from Encanto!

I think Diego is smart enough he would not have openly shown himself and let the humans see him. He knows his presence wouldn't have gone over well.

In case you missed it, when Manny sees the drawings on the cave that was him and his wife and his baby. Basically Manny’s family ended up killed by the hunters
So incredibly sad, and it adds so much to his character and decision to help

Love this movie. Some of my personal favorite bits that still make me chuckle
3:21 - youngsters look like they are playing in the mud, and their father says “You can play extinction later.” It was a reference to tar pits, some have lasted millions of years, and have preserved the remains of several extinct species. So, they are just practicing.
‘Where’s the Baby’ when you’re toothy just makes it more fun.

I love how the human characters have no dialogue. The comedy overall is great, and it’s fun entertainment
One of my favorites too !! But I'm a little disapointed with the sequel... I mean, they're cool and loved them all and laught so hard on them but... apart from the way they stay together, there is nothing about the first one. I mean... I would love to see the baby find them as an adulte and like, know how to talk, because of them rising him/her for some time ! Alors, the baby really look like the mother and I always see it as a girl ! Imagine a cute cavern girl coming to them "Hey, remember me, dads ?" I would love that !!

In the first iteration of the movie Diego did die but it upset the test audience kids too much so they changed the end.
Ah ok, I can see why they would change it, and I will admit I'm happy to spend more time with Diego in the sequels at least
Not only that, but Diego's voice actor, Denis Leary, actually was against the notion of Diego dying as well and protested it himself. When test audiences of children cried he was proven right and Diego lived! :)

Big Fish is amazing!!!
Sid is actually supposed to be a giant ground sloth. In the film he more closely resembles the size of the common tree sloth but some species of ground sloth were around the size of mammoths.
Oh my GOD, those things are huge!!!! And horrendous!!!
The squirrel's name is Scrat and he is such a cool character! Can't wait to see you react to the next one, this is a great series of movies!

I absolutely love this franchise. Used to binge watch the films as a kid every weekend. There are a good bit who dislike the fourth and fifth movies, but for a kid's movie, they are still quite entertaining.
For now, I've watched the first three, but I might check those ones out eventually

Never realised the similarities between Ice Age & Shrek characters before lol, i.e:
* Manny / Shrek
- very large
- initially thought to be last of their kind
- prefer being alone (at first)
* Sid / Donkey
- saved by the big guy & follows him around
- comic relief
- annoys the big guy
* Diego / Puss in Boots
- tough guy
- initially an assassin on a mission
- finds a family, etc
I love how the baby was warning Sid about the Sabre tooth tigers his little rawr rawr rawr is so precious

This series is honestly one of the best I’m so glad your reacting to it😄
This movie is so amazing, especially two things I like the most:
First: Manny is such an incredible character: humans killed his wife and his child and he still brings a human child back to the father, just fantastic!
And second: when the father gives the necklace of his wife to Manny. He gives the only thing that reminds him of his wife to the one who has brought him the most important.
I don't know, but even as a kid I always found these two facts magical and just wonderful!
But one thing makes me really sad, everytime I'm thinking about it (little SPOILER for the next movies):
Manny won't wear the necklace in the other movies :( If he would, that would make my second favourite scene much more heartwarming!!

One of my favorites! Love this reaction, the story is one of my favorites although the third one for me is the real comedic masterpiece this one I remember was refreshing and moving.
There are 5 actually, but after the third, the quality falls off a bit
I like 5 just for the beautiful animation and that I get more Buck.
Only for the last. 4 was fun and unique, plus it had amazing new characters like Granny and Guts
I think the only movie not worth watching of this saga is N°5.🛸

It's interesting watching these movies, because you get to see how animation has evolved over the years. Like the scene at the very beginning with Scrat the squirrel and the two glaciers coming at him? It looks completely like a beginner computer animation project. But the scenery improves in detail with every movie and the characters look a bit more realistic.
Love these movie but no.3 is my absolute favourite. Epic adventure and rib hurting hilarity!

This movie was so educational. They never covered the specifics of how the dodos went extinct in any of my history classes in school. It's good to know the full story now 🤪.

uuh... well, it's the first time I think french version's better.... really, the french Manny have a big deep voice really suiting him, and Diego too. Sid is ok in both version.
The first 3 films are good, while the last 2 are terrible!
They even released a Spinoff film called The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild, which got negative Reviews already.

Sabertooths definetly could have hunted down a mammoth. Mammoth's were big but not very agile
Realistically Diego and Sid's roles would probably be reversed due to most sloths being closer in size to mammoths.

Me: "This is just the beginning",and you gotta watch all the sequels to see that,the fourth one is a downhill,while still being a fun movie overall,but I found that fifth makes up for it,I really loved it,but it's just me quite literally,the people that liked it are a minority unfortunately,because basically the complete fandom hated it.
Ice Age wasn't the biggest movie among the ones from my childhood,but it was still pretty big given that just a while before I watched my first animal documentary,which was on prehistoric mammals and my favorite episode was precisely that on the Ice Age,and leading it was a herd of Mammoths

If he was the baby mammoth why would the flashback end with the trumpeting of the father mammoth showing it still clearly alive while the baby mammoth and the female were hit by those rocks? If he was the baby he ould be shown alive in the end.

I would have to say this one is the best out of the sequels of course since it’s the first one. I feel like the sequels are just trash but that’s just me. Maybe Dawn of The Dinosaurs is the only one I like too but the rest aren’t that great in my opinion
