This channel is the best! It's great to see an actual real carnivore channel, showing all the different ways to cook meat and add lots of variety to your meals, without having to compromise. Good to see the zstar getting a run! Thank you for another experiment!
Good morning Mitch, I woke up thinking of you this morning. I want to wish you a very Blessed Easter Sunday. Your videos are very inspiring and educational. Thank you for leading the way for so many of us older folks!🌹🙏
I always wanted to try braising baby back ribs in bacon grease. Finally tried it last week. Came out great. Cut apart. Cook 25 to 30 min covered. Medium low heat. Turn once or twice. Uncover, bring up heat for 5 min.
I was just debating on cooking beef ribs on my griddle or in my air fryer. Now, the choice has been made! Thanks Mitch. Looks and sounds easy peasy to me.
My husband loves the Maldon smoked salt!!! That is the only one we have that isn't 'too salty' for him. He is still salt sensitive with his BP for a yet unknown reason. I can't believe you can cook ribs in 30 minutes!! I'm still watching so it remains a mystery. Looking forward to the reveal!
I just did short ribs for the first time the other day, no seasoning, just flaky sea salt. They were delicious! Today I'm doing baby back ribs the same way. 😋
I bought 2 boxes of the Maldon flaked sea salt (smoked & plain). I tried the smoked first & loved it. I may try out the plain salt soon just to see what it’s like.
Mitch, I bought a Zstar on your recommendation and I love it however I also have an intapot and for baby back ribs it is so very hard to beat but I must say I haven't tried them yet in the Zstar. I will see. Have you tried bacon in the Zstar ?
Did you remove the membrane on the bottom side of the ribs before cooking? I'm going to give this a shot today. I like how simple your approach to cooking the ribs is.
I don't because I don't care if it blocks rubs and seasoning because I use none, and the membrane contains a ton of collagen and other nutrients. After cooking, the texture is kind of like a sausage casing and it has a great flavor as well.
@OldGuyCarnivore Well, I'm relieved that you don't have to remove the membrane. Less overall prep work involved while maximizing the natural flavor meat is always a good thing. I appreciate you clarifying this, my good sir!
Hey Mitch Great channel Love your style Is whole chicken with skin good on Carnivore I Love chicken the Bell & Evan’s whole Roasted Chicken I can eat it everyday & Eggs Bacon Steak Have A Great Night
I checked the ingredients in the roasted chickens that they sell at Walmart, Sam's Club, and Costco and I'm not sure about the ingredients. They list seed oils and spices on the label. I would rather buy uncooked meat, salt it, and cook it myself. But that's just me
Mitch, where did you you get your baby back ribs? They look thick and juicy. I have some regular pork ribs which I'm Thanks making this week in my new Zstar. Thanks for the post.
That’s funny, I had ribs for my first meal today too. They were beef ribs from a rib roast I bought to cut into steaks. I cut it up today and vacuum sealed the steaks and said what the heck, may as well Ninja the ribs and they were delicious.
Hi Mitch, iv started carnivore eating, been doing it for couple weeks. Just started with Dinner, then after a week of so I added Breakfast (only been doing bacon and eggs), I’m about to add lunch but I’m having problems in finding something interesting but easy to take to work, I’m 63 and work full time. Any suggestions? Any drama to put some cooked steak into a whole meal wrap?
I got to try out my Z-Star. After watching you use your Z-Star, I can definitely say that mine is not the one you have. Hmmm, how did that happen?? No window on mine. Also, I noticed that you can open your lid and leave it open without the whole thing wanting to do a back flip. Mine does. I cooked a steak the other day. I opened the lid and was going to leave it propped open and go get a plate. No can do. I couldn't walk away. The darn thing wanted to do a back flip. I had to close the lid. Go get a plate. Then hold it open with one hand, while I remove the meat with the other hand. Not that big of a deal - but I did notice you had no trouble leaving your lid open. Nice to know the ribs came out good. I probably would've baked mine in a enameled cast iron Dutch oven, low and slow. But when you're hungry and no time - looks like this is a good second option. Have a great day Mitch.
I might have missed your comparison if you made one, but now that you've used both the Ninja and the Zstar, not counting price, how do you rate them based on performance in cooking and quality of craftsmanship?
I'm still on the fence, and I think both are great. They raised the price of the Ninja and that leans me towards the z-star, but they'll probably lower that price again in the future.
@@OldGuyCarnivoreAnother feature of Ninja that impressed me was the built-in thermometer. A few months ago I purchased a Blackstone. Now after seeing your videos on these air fryers, I wish I'd done that instead! :-7
Happy Easter mitch have a beautiful day everyone!.
Thank you, you too

I appreciate that, Jason. Nice of you to say.
I have steak in the air fryer while watching you do ribs 😊
That's the life of a true carnivore, Rosy

That sounds different, but delicious
That sounds amazing! A lot of keto recipes advise using olive oil but I rub bacon grease on my meat if it’s too lean.
@@carnivoreessie I stay away from all plant oils, even olive, avacado, and coconut oil. Animal fats ONLY for me!
I was just debating on cooking beef ribs on my griddle or in my air fryer. Now, the choice has been made! Thanks Mitch. Looks and sounds easy peasy to me.
I have a rack of baby back ribs in my freezer. I'm going to have to try using the Zstar on mine.
I hope you enjoy them

The actual cook time was only 20 minutes.
Best true carnivore ribs on RUclips so far.😋
Quite a compliment, thanks
Happy Easter Mitch. Even though many of us are alone, dont forget who is really in charge.
I just did short ribs for the first time the other day, no seasoning, just flaky sea salt. They were delicious! Today I'm doing baby back ribs the same way. 😋
Sounds great!
I was so shocked to see the Z-star back in stock, I ordered one! Scary.
These things seem to come and go every few months.
Now that I have a ZStar I’ll give the ribs a shot, also will be doing cross cut pork belly on air crisp. Thanks Mitch!
You're welcome, Stanley
Mitch!! Happy Easter! Hope you had a great weekend.
Same to you, Barbie
Hello from Canada. I will try this.
Hope you enjoy
Hey Mitch!
Great show! I’ve got an air fryer setting on my Emirell Lagasee portable oven and I’m thinking Ribs!🥳
Sounds great!
I bought 2 boxes of the Maldon flaked sea salt (smoked & plain). I tried the smoked first & loved it. I may try out the plain salt soon just to see what it’s like.

I was wondering if that method would work I was thinking of trying it myself Now you did the experiment for me. thank you
You bet
Hehehe, gotta do it!
"I love my
baby back, baby back, baby back, baby back, baby back,
baby back, baby back..."
😅
Lol, Cliff
I would like to see you make this in the new Ninja. Mine comes tomorrow the Ninja 7
I intend to try that

I always cook my bacon in a pan, but an air fryer works great as well. I just don't want to have to clean the air fryer for four strips of bacon.

Let me know how it comes out you may have to cook it longer
Happy Easter Mitch
Thank you, you too
Mitch...those ribs look so good; if they were in front of me, those bones would look like polished ivory.😂
Thanks, they really were delicious.
Looked amazing great video Mitch and I just checked and the zstar is available in the Amazon UK store £69 deal
That's quite a deal
@@OldGuyCarnivore Yes I pressed play could not give it a go for that price

Sams.
I got those ribs at Sam's Club. They're less than $3 a pound and come to full wrecks to a package for around 20 bucks
That’s funny, I had ribs for my first meal today too. They were beef ribs from a rib roast I bought to cut into steaks. I cut it up today and vacuum sealed the steaks and said what the heck, may as well Ninja the ribs and they were delicious.
I do that myself when Publix has their rib roast sales around the holidays.
I will try it in my humble xiaomi air fryer
Let me know how it turned out, Juan

I don't know about the wrap, but that's up to you.

I’ll scrap the wrap 😄

I've never seen a z-star like you describe. If you got it from Amazon I would send it back. Other than that I don't know what to say

Yumm !
YUMMY!!🤪
😊❤
Im surprised the meat is tender after cooking a short time compared to slow in the oven.
Yes, I was surprised as well.
I’m surprised it took 20 minutes 🎉
I don't know if you were surprised it took only 20 minutes, or if 20 minutes was too long. Turns out 10 minutes aside at 400° cook them perfectly.
@@OldGuyCarnivore
Ha! Yea, I was think since my chicken wings take 23 minutes, ribs had to take at least 30.
I smoke all my meat and solt thanks for sharing
My pleasure
Need some sugarless BBQ sauce cheat a little
I'd rather have it without sauces or spices. As I said in the video I really enjoy the flavor of the meat with salt only.
