Say what you will about Tom Cruise, but he is killing it right now.
Guy is certifiable but he knows how to entertain an audience.
@@hardcutreviews Right on!
Funny how this works uncomplicated story line, no forced messages, and you have a hit,,,, something film makers did unconsciously till about 2010 it seems. Thx for the review boys!
I wish this movie had a little more breathing room at the theater. Huge movies came out the following weekend and knocked it way down at the box office. Ultimately it’s a good thing that theaters are full but it really killed the momentum for this film.
Just wanted to point that in the second Mission Impossible, Ethan never went Rogue, it was just a mission to stop Ambrose. But in every other one he does.
Fair point. I just purged every frame of that film from my mind. I have no memory of it, lol.
One heartbreaking and painfull fact from this film : REBECCA FERGUSON'S ILSA FAUST CHARACTER END UP DEAD AND BECOMING A CORPSE ON THE VENICE BRIDGE
Yeah, they had to raise the stakes and off someone. They can’t all keep surviving, lol. I figured Luther would get his turn but maybe they’re saving that for part 2. He’s the only other character around as long as Hunt.
Mission Uncuckable! Lmao you guys crack me up. Great review. Can’t wait to hear what you thought of Oppenheimer.
Thanks, dude! Oppie review coming in a few days!
I found the exposition to be too much of a deal breaker for me, likewise the unbeatable, all knowing all seeing adversary that is set up to be way too infallible to make the mistakes it ends up making because the plot needs our heroes to get the upper hand. (Also weird to hear Russians talking English to each other on a Russian submarine; a petty complaint I know so I can let that one slide)I hate to say it because I was stoked for this movie and it's still very enjoyable for the most part. Clearly a lot of love has gone in to making MI7, and 4, 5 and 6 had raised the bar so high. With some further edits to dialogue and plot with a shorter run time, I think the movie could be on a par with Fallout. Still great to see Cruise kicking ass and resisting the wokeitis which is the true enemy.
All great points. As you can tell, that's pretty much how we feel about it as well. McQ was a little lazy this time with the script unfortunately. I guess he had to put all his energy into the crazy shoot.
Regarding Russians speaking English, they actually did the same trick that The Hunt For Red October did, which was starting out in Russian (with sub-titles) then fading into English... so the Russians are still speaking Russian, but we're hearing English. It removes the need for sub-titles in that dramatic scene.
@@martinrenner2992 Fair enough, I didn't catch that the scene started that way and because there are scenes in the film where other languages are used, it seemed odd to me at the time
Such a great review, and a well crafted edit. PROPS to you guys! Excited for the Oppenheimer review!
Thanks bruh. Gotta keep up with you.
Return of the King of Summer Movies
Definitely. Wish it didn’t have such a massive drop off in week 2. Testament to some of the other films out right now.
You guys are the best movie reviewers on RUclips in my opinion. Probably because your views and opinions almost always align with mine haha.
I would give this movie a 7 or 7.5 too. Rainbow scale probably half a rainbow. There was something that felt woke but can't remember what it was.
Oh stop it 🤭
We felt like there was something too but I guess not egregious enough to remember.
Exactly! That exposition dump scene felt like a Neil Breen film to me...the one where he infiltrates a party and rich, evil people just stand around saying things like "global domination" and "manipulate interest rates"... not even really having a conversation, just saying words. That said, Dead Reckoning was still an 8/10.
Yeah man, it didn’t bring the overall score down too much. It’s just cringy to see.
Crazy how this probably isn’t a top 3 mission impossible yet it’s still as good as it is (1, 4, and especially 6 are excellent)
Hopefully part 2 expands on Gabriel and the entity
Definitely. Most film series by this point would have slipped so far they’d be a joke. They will figure out how to up the stakes for part 2.
Love all of your reviews!!! Wishing you more viewers and subscribers:)
Thank you!! If you happen to know where those subscribers are hiding, let us know. Lol.
I'm #TeamMatt when it comes to MI:2. What even is the rabbit's foot in MI:3? also i did like fallout over dead reckoning. tom cruise can do no wrong!
Team Matt salutes you.
Tom Cruise can do wrong. The Mummy.
Your reviews are so good, but they come so late. Do you guys spend a lot of time editing? Or do you just not see the movies until a week after they’re out?
It all comes down to our schedules. We both have full time jobs and editing can get time consuming. We’re trying to get faster by seeing movies before they come out. We went to the press screening for Oppenheimer last week and we have that one coming next but we fell behind with MI7 so had to get it out first. In an ideal world we’d see something a few days early and have it out on opening day. We’ll get there, we just need to neglect our families and lives. Lol.
@@hardcutreviews Gotcha. When an embargo lifts I always visit Jeremy Jahns, Critical Drinker, then you guys but the reviews are never there :(
hopefully you can nail down a flow to get them out efficiently without neglecting life. Maybe think of hiring an editor if it’s in the budget lol
@@eanderson9599 We actually just hired one, lol. We are committed to getting these out as fast as possible.
Excellent analysis and review
👍🖖
Thanks, dude!
Man, I still gotta get out to see this.
Definitely worth seeing in theaters.
@@hardcutreviews Can't say that about too many movies these days...
Havent seen the review yet. .but Tom can't be cucked!
It’s… impossible.
Another Cruise missile hits its target.
He never misses. The Mummy doesn't count.
Fallout is easily the best, then RN, DR is a solid 3rd.
MI 1 not even in the top 3? Blasphemous.

Guys, get over it! The old ones were awesome, just review this one without comparing with the others.
The box office for this one is disappointing given the quality and lack of political preaching. Maybe it would have benefitted from a bit of woke outrage. If Sound of Freedom hadn't occupied the left's insatiable derangement, maybe they would have screeched a bit about this movie instead and Streisanded it up about fifty to a hundred million in its first two weeks.
And frankly, its a little embarrassing that it dropped as much as it did in the second week. I'm afraid this one won't have the legs in the long run. Barbie just shamed it in comparison, and I suppose I get why; women haven't had a movie explicitly made for them in a long time and that market was starving for something other than hijacked boys' franchises.
Despite it's opening weekend success there was a massive drop off for week 2. Lots of high profile movies out right now, like you said. It's a huge shame. This movie should have had multi-week numbers. Sound of Freedom vs Barbie vs Oppenheimer. Hopefully it will make it's money down the road. They should probably be a little more strategic w/ the release date of part 2.
MI7 will fail on box offices
Unfortunately it had massive fall off in its 2nd week box office numbers thanks to films like Sound of Freedom. And now with Barbie and Oppenheimer going to the moon, MI7 is dead in the water.
@@hardcutreviews no it's not because of sound of freedom!!sounds of freedom have 20-30mil$ weekly not 100+ as barbie or Oppenheimer
@@Mr11ESSE111 I didn’t say it was only because of Sound of Freedom. I said all 3 played a part. And Sound of Freedom grossed more than MI7 did in it second weekend so it played a part.
@@hardcutreviews sounds of freedom have every week same box office
