The berretta makes me feel like a good shooter, it hits almost everything you aim at, great natural point of aim.
Beretta, not berretta.
Im partial to the sig myself. Both are great guns
Very good gun. Very accurate.
I just ordered, received, then brought home my 92FS made in Gallatin Tn. I specifically wanted the FS over the M9 because it is more cut in under the backstrap and having medium sized hands I knew this was the way to go. I was initially disappointed with it as the finish is two tone. The frame is purplish gray (ugly AF) and the slide is dark jet black, it looks rattle can sprayed really. Well guess what? After closer inspection I realized that the frame is an M9 frame!!! WTF?!?!?!?!!! Absurd. Literally the only thing FS about it is the 3 dot sights and the stamping on the slide! I will now forever own this gun knowing it would have fit my hand better had they actually sold me what I thought I was buying. VERY big disappointment after wanting a Beretta 92FS for roughly 35 years...This pisses me off so much that the gun will now likely be sold on consignment at my local gun store some day or sit in the bottom of my safe. I bought 3 Glocks before I finally purchased this Beretta, and I gotta say Glock never did me dirty like this. They are surplus'ing those M9 frames off to us now underneath FS stamped slides...I also ran across a guy in a gun forum who said the same thing happened to him. Beretta is dead to me, will never buy a new one again.
Nerettta is better
Hello from Italy, Fair comparison. Your are a real Gentleman.
Hello from America.. Beretta makes great guns! I have a 92 and it is easily my favorite hand gun, flawless performer and beautiful. Just an amazing design.. reliable and shoots any ammo without a hiccup.
I've owned about 15 handguns and have shot much more. The 92FS was always the best range gun I ever used. Shoots great.
I haven't shot a gun yet but if I see one I'll choose it for my first one I think.
@@INF1NI73I'm a bit late, but if you have an experienced friend, you can go to a range that rents guns, and you can try out several to see what you like
I've had a P226 for over 25 years. Such a good gun. That double to single pull is simple to get used to. But clearly both are excellent handguns.
Great video. .I couldn't make make my mind up . ....So the Only way out of this dilemma...I bought both of them .......problem solved. . Life is good ;-)
Frank Poindexter hell yeah
Which do you prefer?
I did the same thing.....
There's no way to choose. If you buy one, you'll still want the other. You must have both 😎 I had a bad impression of the Beretta from handling the used and abused units in CATM, but the M9A3 has given me a new appreciation for them!
So did I.
I’ll stick with the Beretta 92 fs or M9. I was trained with it since the late 80’s, used and abused it but still works and never had a single malfunction. All firearms are good if you’re trained with it but I love an all metal non plastic pistol. You’re awesome hickok45. I use Federal ammunitions because of you. Thanks for all the vids.
I’m tired of plastic too. I find the aluminum frames like the sig or beretta or all steel frames like the SW 5906 and the all steel P 220 version, a 1911 or a browning high power
I've fired both. Hands down my favorite is the P226. I like the frame mounted decocker. The Italian is certainly dead sexay though.
Hi I hope you can reply in a total noob in this world which gun would you recommend for a beginner out of this two or other handgun you can think of.
@@siloecruz6477 both or a Glock
@@siloecruz6477 I’d recommend not getting too caught up on choosing; just buy the one you like. There are tons of great options these days, and the important thing is getting time in training with it. Pick the one you like best, and get familiar with it.
I have the M9 Beretta myself and I love it!.... I bought it because of John McClain and Martin Riggs...... always wanted their gun since I was a kid, so when I got older and was able to get it i got it, and at the time they had an M9 so I got they one....and iam so glad I did I love it so much!... and I have other guns and I like the way they shoot too....
Not to mention my childhood hero growing up playing Resident Evil... Jill Valentines gun you start off with a 92fs.
Martin Riggs uses the M9. John McClain used the 92FS. All the same the beretta 92 rules the battlefield and the Hollywood screen!
how much money this guy is spending on soda bottles in one year :) ??
Like 10 bucks, maybe? It's probably cheaper than actual paper targets. Just look at the cheap no-name soda isles at Walmart...considering what the stuff is made of, he's doing his part of the world a favor.
Fugettaboutit not really .. You buy more they make more.
Good point. Maybe he should put the bottles back on the shelf after 'using' them.....
PJP, he gets it donated by buds Pop Shop. Bud's Pop Shop the only shop to buy your pop.
He bring back the empty's for a Deposit etc
This was a good comparison but no gun is truly tested until it takes down a two litre in mortal combat.
Bernard Flood hi on "angle dust"
I love his laugh when he does that.
go 4 it warrior
😅
2 liter chuckles
Sir Hickok, On 03:03 you just said "I am not an expert". I was just wondering, who can be more expert than you? :)
is it me or does anyone else love the fact that any time Hickok walks around his range, he hear what sounds like a floor of brass at his feet! well done.
In a few hundred years archeologists will no doubt deduce that a great battle was waged on this land.
@@briansavage932 they won’t have to deduce anything… Hickok will still be out there, plinking away, and he will tell them all anything they need to hear himself
I'm a big Sig Sauer fan, but I found a great deal on a Beretta 92FS that I couldn't pass up. I'm very, very impressed with the accuracy of the 92FS, and it's incredibly smooth to shoot. In my opinion, both are top notch and it's completely personal preference between the P226 and the 92FS, whichever feels more comfortable to the individual.
I love the P226, but the Beretta is a sexy gun too! I've got both. :)
I have both and love them
I have both.
I have two 92s and just ordered two 365 XL with the safety on them. I won’t have one without a safety. If you practice enough you don’t even know you put it off when it comes up. Just like a shotgun. Repetition is key. You can tell 45 doesn’t ever shoot a gun with safeties. He misses them every time and doesn’t like him. Shot to many Glocks in his time.
The p226 was the first sig i ever fired and i fell in love with sigs from that point on
this guy sucks watched him and determined had to get both. every time I watch him it cost me. guess I can't really blame him for doing a great job on his vids and watching him does help on buying guns.
"We never leave a loaded magazine. Could be dangerous right!?" -Hickok45
Lmao I love this guy!
I like them both, but i love the SIG.
I also love that it's very compatible with lights/lasers if needed..
Tried the 92fs and loved it. Fit me like a glove. Then I shot the p226 and it was even better, which in my mind was hard to believe. He is right on about both being really fun to shoot, but I give the Sig the winning vote.
Just had this experience. Definitely gotta add the P226 now.
I was looking at buying one of these for my first real pistol, back in 012, and this video helped me decide. Went with the 92A1.
Man.... I came to this video because I personally carry the Beretta 92fs, but I got so distracted by your range.... I want one so bad. You lucky duck! I would be out there all day probably freezing to death and hungry, but I wouldn't be able to stop if I had your range. :P
Lyubomir Kirillov I have an M9.
I carried a Beretta 92fs for a year straight inside the waist and it was big MF and I complained alot but I still carried that MF cause that gun was a beast..will sling lead as fast as you pull the trigger everytime wit no problem
gang land ahh the old waste band holster.
The Sig P226 is One of the Smoothest Double Action Firearms I have ever shot 💯
Love my P226 nd P225, but truthfully the 92FS shoots much smoother. Non-tilting barrel makes a difference in perceived recoil and target reacquisition.
@ I feel the same way. While I prefer how the aesthetics of the Sig P226 more (seems more modern to me even if the both guns have a timeless/iconic design), I give the Beretta 92 a slight edge. The trigger is so smooth, break is great, reset is excellent, the grip feels like it was made for my hands, I can maneuver all the buttons/safety/release much easier, and I'm just a better shot with the 92. The P226 does all of this great as well and it really just comes down to each user.
The Beretta is a better shooter for me. It Is also sexy as hell. They make all sorts of accessories for them. I just ordered two Sig 365 XL to replace my both our carry guns (going to all 9’s). I hear the trigger is about the same.
The M92FS was a weapon I trained with in the Marine Corps, is a weapon I personally owned and customized, always true to its reputation and handling. Sig P226 I've never handled but I conceal with the SP2022, also a Sig, great gun. This video alone makes me very happy
please, get a grip on one. you'll know when you hold it
Great video; I purchased both, the Beretta 92 and the Sig 226. I love them both.😊😊
I've shot both handguns but fell in love with the P226 , been carrying it for duty since 2013 ...wouldn't trade it for the world !👍✌

Absolutely no debate that the Beretta is the worlds most awesomely beautiful pistol. Prove me wrong.
XM9 trials already did
I got a 220 stainless looks pretty sweet. But I’d say a long slide 1911 in nickel😂 is most bute
I own both models but my Sig p226 is in .357SIG and has a .40S&W barrel. I converted my M9/92fs to the 92G configuration which converts the safety/decocker to decocker only which I prefer. Great video.
I have a Sig P220 45ACP and a Beretta 92S 9mm Euro-Mag style and a Heckler & Koch .40 USP and I love them. They really feel great in the hand and is reliable at least for me. My E.D.C. SCCY CPX-2 9mm. I take them to the gun range and enjoy every minute I am there. Just keep them clean & lubed for years of trouble free service. Thanks for the great demo of two legends.
both are great guns. reliable, 0 malfunction.... But I just like the sig more... the decocker on the sig is so smooth, its butter really, and the mechanism is perfect, the best decocker in the market today
The slide-mounted safety on the Beretta is initially counter-intuitive but, after time, it will eventually become ingrained in your muscle memory. It’s a wonderful pistol, shoots better than a lot of the polymer varieties offered these days, and is about as sleek and sexy a handgun as one can imagine. I can’t speak for the Sig226, but have little doubt it is a quality pistol, as well. Nice review. 👍
Nerettta is better
@@waynekeer Sig Sauer P226 is better.
The safety is an extra move even for proficient shooters. Weapons with a safety are for the range.
For concealed carry personal defense, I chose the SIG P226 over everything else for these primary reasons:
1) Its reputation for performance reliability amoung elite combat & law enforcement professionals
2) No safety - The 1st shot Double Action 10lb. trigger offers a safety element without sacrificing combat readiness
3) It fits my hands perfectly
4) I got it at FFL cost price
5) Emotionally, I think it's a damn sexy gun
Comfortably carrying this full-sized pistol concealed on my 6' 190lb frame isn't difficult. I carry outside the waistband in a Raven Concealment Systems Phantom Modular Holster. If my clothing attire demands inside the waistband concealment, I carry holstered in a White Hat Holsters' MaxTuck.
Skep Tical Sig is cheap stamp metal slide. Beretta is milled. Checkmate.
Jim K yes, but Beretta have mediocre triggers which are quite pricey to modify, also the sigg has a few more customization options But don't get me wrong completely agree with the slide being "less than satisfactory".
relax buddy it was just opinion not a fact.
out of my research on the gun is how i came to my view. everybody is different.
Another thing I'm not alone. the m9 is being discontinued in the US military while many Sigg models are still being used across the world including the SAS which are considered one of the most elite soldier divisionson the planet. There is two types of "cool" in distinguishing handguns. first type of cool is actual ability of the object itself. While second kind of cool is where an individual holds an object to a higher regard than it actually deserves. This is due to a handguns unique attributes that may compliment an individual shooter or a preconceived notion of "cool" solely given out of personal opinion. I think your getting them twisted.
+Skep Tical can you say which is better for concealed carry beretta 92 compact, glock 19 or sig p320 compact ?
Got a Sig 226 Mk 25 and the Beretta M9 A1. Can’t possibly go wrong with either. Both great firearms.
I have the Sig P 226 my brother has the Beretta 92 we have lots of fun shooting them, both are excellent firearms.
I love sigs. My edc has been the p320 the last year, I've fired about 1000 rounds through it and not one ftf. Through a whole variety of ammo, jhp included. I just got a p227 the other day and up next is the 220 legion in 10mm coming out soon. Quickly becoming a fanatic!
Cicadas in stereo are so loud. Gotta shoot some of them bugs!
I been carryin' the Beretta 92 for 20 years, inside the waistband, every day...
I mean, I haven't, but now I kind of wish I had.
A very kind person took the time to point out to me that I used their when I should have used there.......nice!! :)
DIE HARD... AND LETHAL WEAPON are the two big Hollywood action movie series where the berretta was really showcased well to the viewing public.
those were cool movies and they made the Berretta seem like such a cool gun.
One handed, these movies displayed them well. But dual yielding them really set me off, like in the matrix and John woo films. Had to get the pt92, I'm a thumb break leather holster guy and the Beretta slide controls just to snaggy for me. Would like to get girsan regard soon also.
I was torn between these 2 pistols when I was looking for one. I ended up renting both of them at the same time at a range and after about 300 rounds each I chose the Beretta. For me I thought it felt better and was more accurate then the 226. This was 3 years ago and i still really enjoy it. I honestly think it’s more accurate then my Glock model 22.
John Woo would have been proud :)
Than, not then.
going threw the same thing rn. i have not made a choice yet. thx for your comment. i will probably do the same and shoot them both.
The 92FS can be safely carried with safety off.
It can also be safely carried with hammer decocked and safety off. If you're seriously gonna reach for your gun and squeeze the trigger while drawing then you shouldn't even touch a gun
The p226 has no safety...lol
@@claytoncallon180 there's no need for it, especially in double action

@@jamesfranco7090 If you did an index finger on the side of the weapon draw in the Old West you'd be singing sapprano with the angels.
I was trained and competed with the Beretta M9 in the Army, and bought a couple for personal training and use. After some research, I decided to buy a SIG P226. I figured that anything the Navy SEALS favored couldn't be at all bad. I have since sold every other automatic pistol I owned (including my 1911, and several other fine weapons). Both of these pistols are top-notch. This video is one of a very few that gives a fairly objective look at them. Nothing in the world like a professional educator with a good grounding in their subject. Thanks!
Had a Beretta in .40 S&W which consistently had stovepipe issues with hollow points. I finally got rid of it because I didn't like keeping FMJ in it when I carried it with me. I switched to a Sig P226 and it eats everything I feed it including just about every major brand of hollow point defensive ammo you can find. You can have the Beretta and I'll keep my Sig. Interestingly I did get a 96fs .380 Beretta for my wife which looks like a scaled down version of the 92fs and it eats all of the .380 HP ammo I've fed it. I suppose I could have taken the Beretta .40 to a gunsmith to polish the feed ramps or something like that but I want a gun that is reliable out of the box. I seem to shoot better with the Sig too.
I owned both of the same guns back in the mid-late 80's. Without a doubt the Sig 226 was a more refined pistol. Both are for people with fairly large hands. When opportunity came along and I could trade off , I let go of the 92FS. I still have the Sig P226, and its superior to any other modern pistol I have purchased.
The Beretta 92 is an awesome piece, it shoots fantastic.
it really does. It's definitely quality. The size is a bit large for a 9, but that doesn't make it anything less than a fine handgun.
The sig is better..
Yeah shoots fantastic until you get a grain of dirt in it.
Asturian Cetorix yes i love it
Rick Taylor combat tupaware
Why Beretta won the military contract is a no brainer, it's a much prettier gun.
My understanding is that they tied on all the testing and price, but Beretta won out because of pricing of the mags and service kits.
The early Beretta slide failures were very rare and it was determined that the ammo being used was way over normal pressure because of an oversight when the brass was changed leading to 'early' failures after many thousand rounds. They also had an issue with locking block failures that were discovered to be because of after-market blocks being used that had very unpredictable lifespans where the Beretta blocks were very durable and relatively predictable. The factory blocks have their limit too, but generally reliable to 10,000 rounds and will usually go way past that with standard pressure ammo.
moral of the story. The us army should stop being so cheap and buy the spare parts from beretta and stop using the aftermarket parts.
Got a 92fs new in ‘93, then got a new P226 in ‘95. Never had any issues with either one. Had a match barrel and had the trigger smoothed out on the P226 it is extremely accurate now. Love them both. Just apples and oranges kind of thing. Carry the 92FS with me. 👍
I like Your videos: always polite and respectful for every single gun.
P226 is my 24/7 carry
P226 does have SIG branded 20-capacity magazines
I think the exposed barrel of berreta looks very unique and really cool.
I'd love to own one
I guess we all differ, that's what I don't like about the Beretta,I think that exposed barrel is ugly .
sepultura7771 You are a minority with that opinion.
@@MrInzombia They know
I see nothing unique about a wathler p38 copy. Sorry but no, good looking in its own right yes but far from unique.
I hit wrong button I could call the sig a browning copy as well.
I owned both in 9mm. While the Beretta was more comfortable in the hand the accuracy of the Sig was far greater and the reliability was a little better (occasional FTF in the Beretta with certain ammo). I sold the Beretta and put a set of Hogue rubber grips on the SIg and its now my favorite gun I own! I consider the 226 the Mercedes Benz of guns. Thanks for making these videos.
Manufacturers still can't make a pistol better than a 92, 226 , or a g17.
+jeremy beverly Honestly, how could they? All three are virtually 100% reliable, more accurate than the shooter, and great in virtually every other department. Even if something were better in a few respects, the improvement would be negligible because all three are so damn good already, generally speaking. You can nitpick about features, aesthetics, and perceived level of quality, none of them fall short of being perfectly enjoyable.
+FM57 another iconic pistol, makes you wonder why the military is even looking for a new pistol.
CZ 75 is the boss...it's better than a sig
Id have to agree, Although all these pistols mentioned are fantastic, I still have to say the CZ 75 in both full size and compact beat them all and its priced the least as well.Actually the Beretta and CZ are about the same cost. Sig is way overpriced
Id add the usp to that list as well.
The Barrett’s is just a sexy gun. I remember being a kid in the 80s and watching action movies with my uncle who was NYPD, and talking about how cool the Barretta was.
Wish I lived in America (Preferably next door to Hickok) as I’m British and live in the U.K. I love both these guns! The Betetta 92 is an iconic gun that you see a lot in films and the P226 is used by the most revered special forces unit in the world, the British SAS after they switched from the Browning high power (I think) .... Hickok you have the best job in the world me ole son!! 👊🏻👊🏻
The Beretta decocker and safety become so convenient, you get used to it real quick. From the M9 proven in warfare for decades to the 96 and even CC Storm compact, great and reliable weapons
S.F.
The beretta is a pretty gun
I love the beretta and owning one feels amazing, but I like how the magazine on yours is flushed down to the point where it feels comfortable on the hand, i dont really like the usual magazines where the clip is a little longer which makes it feel alot larger than the palm of my hand. P226 is a great pistol aswell but personally i prefer the 92fs.
There's A Reason Why The SIG Sauer P226 Couldn't Beat Out The Beretta M9 In The Military? SIG Sauer Had To Come Up With A Whole New Pistol To Beat Out The Beretta And It Took Over Dirty Years To Do it 💯
I recently got interested in the P226 and this information was good to find. Thank you.
I have the MK25. The bore axis is a non issue for me. It does take work to get used to the DA/SA transition.
IMO the CZ 75 varieties have a better DA pull, but the Sig SA is amazing.
Depends on CZ My CZ PO1 has an atrocious DA pull.
@@Hialeah1925 Out of the box I agree, it’s not great. You can drop in a 15# mainspring as a stand-alone part (CGW or CZ Custom) and the DA press greatly improves without diminishing reliability. Better still, the best $50 you’ll ever spend is the CGW Ultra-lite kit, which includes 13# & 11.5# mainsprings with a firing pin kit to keep things reliable. You owe it to yourself. Just do it!!!!
@@jimm244 appreciate that info Sir.. will get right on it! Easy enough to do oneself?

Glad you decided to start making weapon videos... had a great time watching
From info i read, Beretta did not beat out the Sig. It was basically a draw but Beretta was cheaper so military chose it instead if Sig.
Beretta 92FS all the way.
Yes
Now take it home and clean it. Tell me which one is better... They're both superior handguns, one is just better than the other.
@@siksika4603 what does cleaning it have to do with anything? I have both, they’re pretty similar.
I have had my Baretta 92 SB Compact since the mid 90s. I love the way it shoots and never have had any problems with it. Thanks for all the videos Hickok45.
Mr. Hickok, I'd love to see you do a shooting review on the Sig SP2022 in 9mm or 40 S&W. I own one in 40 and would love to see and hear what you think about it.
It would be hilarious to have a scene in John Wick 5 where he visits his dad and it’s Hickok45.
My brother owns a 226 and I use the M9A4 so this competition is the real deal.
I will just say, Bare Bones Stock, my Mk25 (226 which is what's in the vid) and my 92fs are both amazing! I personally like the Beretta's Stock Trigger Reset. The Stock Mk25 reset is much longer in direct comparison. Clearly there are Short Reset options (Currently have one coming right now for the 226) that can adjust that but there is an added cost.
They are incredibly smooth shooters and fun to shoot. I personally just thought the stock trigger reset was better in the cheaper gun.
I am truly happy with both though! just my $.02
Sig's bore axis is just too high for me. The Beretta 92fs will always be one of thee most dependable, accurate & beautiful firearms ever made. The open top slide design will always be more reliable than a closed side. The U.S. Military made a big mistake switching to Sig, which cost us tax payers Billions, when the new Beretta M9 -A3 was submitted for trials with all the upgrades the Military wanted, it was not even allowed to compete. And Beretta said they would only be penny's more to buy than the M-9, with any or all of the upgrades they made, PLUS there wouldn't have to be any new training by the Soldiers, another $Billion saved to us tax payers. They'll find out soon enough. The only advantage to the Sig is you can put different size slides on the same frame, that's it ! The Beretta is thee most tested & proven combat pistol in the world, including the 1911, which is still in use with many Special Forces teams. Plus on the 92fs u can rack a round into the chamber with the gun still on safe. U made a big expensive mistake U.S Military at tax payers expense ! Someone got payed off !
I really like the classic look of the 92. Im sure the Sig is a great pistol but not worth the extra few hundred bucks IMO. Add a CZ75 in the mix and you got a real comparo. You can carry CZ75 cocked and locked but you can't lock it in DA.
The Beretta IMO has always been the most beautiful gun out there
One of my all time favorites but the real champ is a nice kimber 1911 45 acp fmj beautiful gun
I think it’s super sexy too. Picking mine up this week.
Concurred. Pretty much a pumped up German p38 and I have always found the old wathler to be an aesthetically pleasing gun. As for Beretta, Italians have a knack for crafting beautiful designs. Brazilians and Turkey also have well crafted versions. Also the rare Egyptian model, all look marvelous.
Sandy Mitchell 1911 ,P30L ,Beretta, all beautiful
@Rusty Shackleford and how are they nothing to show off its one of the best EDC's I don't own one yet I do have a glock 19 a Baretta m9a3 and a 357. magnum revolver thats only for my pistols I'm getting my Kimber soon I know how good kimbers are the 1911 is my favorite sidearm don't assume stuff about me but I still thinks its awesome
Love my Sig 229 Elite!!! Happily sold my Beretta 92 Centurion and moved to Sig. When I cc its with the sig or my Walther p99.
Id like to have both of these in my collection someday. Both are unique and iconic in their own way.
Owned both but never at the same time, last summer it was a Beretta (for the 4th time) this summer I got 3 HKs (Traded out for Glocks) an M&P Shield Performance Center and just got the 226 stainless and LOVE IT...had to get rid of a USP (Which I hated that but....c'est la vie, wanted that steel piece, plenty of other HKs etc.), to make up the difference im getting a Beretta 92S Italian Surplus, to anyone wanting both of these for under $750 I highly recommend getting the SIG stainless .40 DAK, try it, you might like it esp if you operate a revolver or an HK LEM (LEM is nicer overall but both are great)....1) Buy the DA/SA SRT kit, cheaper than buying a non-DAK with the SRT by a few hundred bucks! Install it. 2) Buy a 9mm and/or .357 SIG barrel. 3) Enjoy your $1000 pistol you got for $450-550 ;)
4) Get a Beretta 92S surplus for $250-450
5) Be amazed at how nice the Beretta is next to the higher-priced SIG
6) Carve a little section of the new grips you get to fit the euro mag-release, and don't worry so much about it! Perfect home-defense, street carry and plinking gun!
92 is too bulky for me. I like the sleek 226. Both quality guns.
Nothing sleek about a block with high bore axis and 92 maybe longer but bulky, far from that.
Really wish he brought the calipers out to prove this. And not sure why scale was out but from what l gathered in my library was that both roughly weigh 34 oz with load magazine.
Love my Beretta 92fs
I own a P226 and have put thousands of rounds through it, I have also qualified on the M9 through the military. I love my 226, I feel like I could have slept through the M9 qual and still get expert because of my 226. I don't care for the looks or slide length of the M9 but it's simply a fantastic weapon like the 226. I would keep my 226 over the M9 in the end though. Just my $0.02.
I've never shot a p226.but I own a p229 and a 92fs. One thing I will say is the grip on the p229 fits my hand like a glove.and the double action pull on the Sig its far better then the Beretta.but I still shot better with the Beretta.they are both great guns although the Beretta is still my overall favorite the Sig gets the nod for overall quality
I love my Sig P226. I have the E2 grips, and I'd swear Sig made that gun specifically for my hand. No other gun feels as comfortable.
There is one gripe I have with the M9 or 92FS that I agree with you hickok, sir, is the 10+lb trigger pull on the double action. There is one modification I will do with mine...once I get one, is the Brownells Hammer D Spring which brings the trigger pull down to a nice 8lbs.
I am AD Navy and in my training with the safety is to try and get you dominate thumb to push the safety off. Of course I have big hands and long fingers which is easy for me. But it the training of setting your mind to use your dominate thumb to make that maneuver when quick drawing.
Berreta 92FS is flawless
Jet li disagrees with your comment.
It will do its job but I was never comfortable with it.
@@ihitwrongbutton194 lololol good stuff man, and true haha.
Beretta wins just bc I'm left handed.
Lefty pride. Woot!
Southpaw FTW!
EEP! DEVIL CHILDREN!
Negrolas what does being left handed have to do with anything
I have shot with both of these, and consider both of them to be fine pistols. I find both to be highly accurate. Either one is heavy enough to absorb a lot of the recoil impulse, thus making shooting a breeze. You really can't go wrong with either.
hammerki1 That's been my point all along. Nice to see someone shares my opinion too.
hammerki1 Before it's said and done I'll have both. I like the Sig better most of the time just because finding a 92G is like finding a Singer 1911. If the M9 A3 comes out at the right price, it'll be a no brainer.
I don't know if they did, but even IF they did, it's just the mag, that shouldn't affect someones decision to buy one or the other.
Personally, I think I'll be picking up a Sig P226 as my first hand gun but I'm undecided. I've narrowed my choices down to P226, Kimber 1911 or any of the Gen 4 9mm Glocks
Just keep in mind, Hickok knows his way around guns. Twice he pulled the Beretta and twice it did not go off. If you are under stress and your life is hanging in the balance when that happened you might just end up dead. You can train all day and still make that mistake and once is all it takes.
Know what the best handgun is? The one the works for you. People are far too invested in what they think is better. That's why I love Hickok vids. He's impartial and just tells you the way it is. Thanks Hick!
Look up the Nambu pistols and get back to me
leftcoaster67 XD!!!!!!
@@ivanrivera3293 - OMG the Nambus are such pieces of shit. Made of crap metal and when they finally break they cannot be repaired.
@@ivanrivera3293 Nambu means 2nd world war era Japanese pistols??
You can actually use 92FS magazines in the P226 and the other way around too. I don't know why, but it works flawlessly.
That's very good info. I will definitely look into that. Doesnt the same company make the magazines for both weapon systems? Thanks.
I don't believe you. I'm going to check it out. Berettas are VERY sensitive to magazine latch hole location, can't even use Taurus mags in a Beretta.
Wait… for real?
That is not true!I own both pistols and that is absolute rubbish.Mags do not interchange.
Love them both. If I have to choose my vote will be the Sig P226 :)
Qualified on both the M9 and M11 (Sig 229...close enough). in the Air Force. I definitely liked the Sig better!
Retired cop here... the Beretta was a very good gun :)
As a die-hard, tried and true, birth under fire, committed SIG guy, the ONLY other firearm that I'd trust my life to would be the Beretta M9/92. That being said, I do not own a Beretta. I have shot the Beretta in the past thought and they are good smooth firearms.
I love my berries! I got a 92fs a Cheetah and a Tomcat! My most accurate of my Firearms. :)
For me is Beretta better just because it isn't that angular, that bulky and uncomfortable to carry like SIG, which is great and accurate gun but still more cop's or soldier's gun than for concealed carry. My girlfriend had Beretta 92 in .40 calibre, hed it on some competitions and later sold it because amno was really expensive. As cop she has CZ 75 as servise gun, so Beretta was her favourite, just after her Colt Commander Elite. Her Beretta was really early .40 calibre model, so after extensive shooting needed new barrel and extractor but was reliable.
Thanks for this video. I was surprised that my local range does not rent Beretta 92 nor 96. I have shot the p226.
The Sig 226 may very well stand with legendary company: the classic 1911A1, Browning High Power, CZ75. I just "feels like no other". The special grips on the Select Model ought to give Ol'45 all the grab he might ever want. Let's hope Ol'45 does a reposte -- for the Sig 226 Select!
BTW, Hickok... the P226 actually won the competition... but the price was too high.
I thought the Sig was cheaper as a firearm but more expensive as a complete package with magazines, support etc. than the Beretta
My P226 cost me around a thousand dollars. Beretta is not as expensive as far as I know
Not sure how good a deal the military could negotiate, but I got mine for like 500 bucks. Used though.
Got my p226 in 92' for 600 bucks. West German made. :p
The prices for both came out the same. As did the testing. The parts and mags for the Beretta came out cheaper, and with that they won the contract. The pistols themselves came out equal in the testing, as well as the base cost.
Hey. Have you fired a Beretta 92A1? I'd like to see that...
That'd be a M9A1, not a 92A1.
Red Car - Nope. Beretta makes and sells the 92A1 the military just calls it M9.
the clinking of brass underfoot :')
I have both .. The Beretta shoots a little smoother but the p226 works best for me , I'm am way more accurate with my P226 than my Beretta ( This does not mean the sig is more accurate ) It just means it is more accurate for me . I think you should rent them first . Be sure to check out the FNH FNX before you decide . Also don't forget Glock they are very reliable and you might find out your more accurate with it . RENT THEM FIRST ! Every shooter is different .
I am dating myself. I was in the Army when we went to M9s. We hated giving up the 1911 for 'spaghetti pistols.' What are my two favorite pistols now? The 1911A1 and the M9. Others may be better, but they always work and they are what I know.
