  • Shooting and comparing two of the most common pistol models we might have or be shopping for, the Beretta 92FS and the Glock 19. This video is simply my impressions of the difference between the famous Beretta 92FS and the Glock. It's not a "service pistol" comparison, or I would have tried to borrow a G17. It's more a comparison between the formats and two very popular guns. The main difference between the G17 and G19 is that it's a bit longer in slide and grip; thickness is same as the G19. The G19 will take the G17 magazines, of course.

      22steve5150 Same here, I couldn't believe when I first held my M9A1, I was in the market for a full size 9mm and it came down to the Beretta or a Glock 19, and after holding the Beretta, that's one of the things that tipped the scale and won me over. Plus I've always wanted a da/sa pistol since I was a kid. But, I will eventually get the G19 too. But yeah the Beretta fits like a glove !!

    • @5Ring
      @5Ring 9 лет назад +9

      For the record, the Glock-19 is technically a compact 9mm, the Glock-17 being the full-size version and the Glock-26 being the subcompact. I'm not a fan of Glocks. I find them to be woefully inaccurate compared to CZ and Berretta, as well as being far less reliable than the "perfection" Glock pontificates about. I've had several FTFs with the Glock-22 I'm forced to carry on-duty and a Glock-23 I used to own. Not one problem with my M92A1 or CZ-75 PCR.

    • @BRadgambler
      @BRadgambler 9 лет назад +2

      I know he mentioned the G17 in the video, but I was wondering the same thing. Why would you put a compact size gun next to a really full size gun like the Beretta for comparison?. My best guess is the round count they both hold is similar can be the only reason he'd use a 19 instead of the 17 for this "Glock vs Beretta" review...

    I have a little experience with both.
    Handling the Beretta is like riding a magnificent well-trained horse. It even seems that it has the ability to teach me how to be a better shooter in the way a great horse can teach me how to ride better. The Beretta feels like an active, intelligent partner. After a day of shooting with it, I feel energized and focused.
    The Glock, on the other hand, is like dealing with a hot-tempered, poorly disciplined Napoleon. It is messy, vindictive, and out for itself. Yes, it is compact and powerful and can get the job done but it takes so much mental energy to work with it that it's not worth the benefit of its portability for me. After a day of shooting with the Glock, I'm sapped and grumpy.
    Yes, the Beretta is heavier and harder to conceal. But what it gives you in performance, personality, and feel can't compare to the Glock.
    If you have to choose one for frequent concealed carry, (especially if you are smaller) then the Glock does make more sense. Otherwise, leave that raging toddler alone and get the Beretta.

      Traded it for a Beretta 92A1, which very much sparks joy. It's funny how many other people in this comment section say it fits their hand perfectly, because I feel the same way. I'm more accurate with it than pretty much any other gun I own, and it's by far one of the nicest guns I have.

      Jack Saegar I just bought a Beretta 92FS and I fell in love with it. It's pretty, I love the hammer decocker on it, it's awesome how fast I can reload it, I fired 230 rounds threw it with out fail and it's much cheaper to shoot and easier to find ammo for then my 357. magnum revolver. I hated semi automatics and went with a revolver as my first handgun because of how ugly many of the models are until seeing the Beretta 92FS and others like the Browning HP and the 1911. How does the Glock make all other pistols obsolete?

    A note on suppressors(because that seems to be becoming a bigger thing these days): the Beretta 92 barrel can be direct-threaded for a suppressor, whereas the Glock(with an extended barrel to clear the frame and slide) has a tilting barrel and requires a Neilsen device to catch the suppressor weight while a round chambers. The factory sights on both pistols also sit too low on the slide to clear any suppressor body I've seen, and both would need to be switched to taller sights to use them over a can.

  • @tritonrecordings
    @tritonrecordings 4 года назад +30

    I absolutely love my Beretta 92A1. If I were to conceal carry, I think a Glock 19 makes a little more sense. It's just as reliable as well. Apart from that, Beretta all the way for me. Both are dependable firearms but like many have said, the look of the Beretta can't be argued with.

    • @liberty9348
      @liberty9348 2 года назад

      I shoot my 92A1 far more accurately and faster. And because of that, I carry it every day. I have an appendix carry holster and an OWB holster for open carry depending on what I'm doing and where I'm going. Both are made by Hidden Hybrid Holsters. They are surprisingly comfortable considering the size of the 92A1. I use a Magpul Tejas gun belt to support the extra weight of the Beretta and it works well. I wish a company like Alien Gear made a retention holster that would fit the 92A1 with a light and red dot. I put the suppressor and light on the rail and sleep with it on my strong hand side at night under the covers =]. It's the best pistol ever made if you ask me. I'll never sell it. The Wilson Combat upgrades turned it into a dream to shoot. I would have paid them double if I knew how good the improvements would be. It went from incredible out of the box to a unicorn.

      ***** The problems with the early 92s was because the military failed to follow Beretta's ammo recommendations. This was the same as the horror stories with the m16 early in the Vietnam War. E. Stoner recommened powder for the m16 and the military in their ultimate wisdom decided to ignore the designer. This was fixed, just as Beretta corrected a problem that would not have been a problem if military brass did not think they know more than those who built the weapon. You will find very few handguns that will survive a regular diet of submachine gun loads.

    I carry my Beretta 92 in a Cross Breed inside the waist holster in the 5 o clock position. Being a big person, it conceals well on me, and I do practice drawing quickly and firing and it works well for me. I was also issued this weapon in the Army as a 19K , was forced to remain on the range for as long as it took to qualify expert, and had to field strip and reassemble it, and perform malfunction clearing drills without looking at it.

      Ralin What is a "run-of-the-mill" handgun? Most guns are pretty common these days, and they are all just pretty good. Unless you are talking about high-end custom guns, one is not better than the other. Let me summarize how they work: Point gun at target, pull trigger to go bang, bullet exits muzzle and travels to target. Repeat steps. Glocks do this just as well as any other gun out there including your precious HK and Beretta

    • @strixt

    I just recently brought a Glock 20 Gen 4 and loved it! I've carried and fired the Beretta 92FS for 17 years, when I was a Military Police officer in the US Army. I don't like the Beretta's uneven weight distribution on the gun and the open barrel. The weight of the gun tends to be a little heavier in the front causing people to generally shoot low. The Beretta's I carried had a tendency to rust especially in the open barrel portion, no matter how many times you clean it, oil it, and wipe it dry.

    • @zacnovick7470

    What I find interesting is he hasn't had a lot of experience with the Baretta and a ton of experience with the Glock. He shoots the Baretta just as well as a gun that he has probably fired thousands of times. That's a testament to the Baretta, I believe. Watch a later video where he complained about the trigger pull of the Baretta while hitting every shot dead on as though it wasn't even an issue. The Baretta reminds me of more classic firearms. I'm drawn to it.

The frame of the italian piece is crisp in all of it's machine work, it feels like it's CNC machined from a block of billet (which it is) and the USA made version feels more like a forging with much less crispness. Does it matter? Nope... Just my $0.02 from comparing both in depth. I'm not sure how the USA lower is made, I would assume it's exactly the same so I'm not sure why there is a difference in the finish work.

    Seems to me that glocks are designed to be more of an idiot-proof, common denominator gun, i.e., no manual safety to get hung up on when you are bringing it in to action, easier for a female to grip, big easy-to-see sights, typical striker fired trigger that although mushy is not too hard to pull, etc. I view the Beretta as the superior gun in most aspects, not least of which is looks, but the important fact remains that it's just too darned big for most concealed carry situations.

    I have pretty large hands, so 92's, glock 20/21's, desert eagles etc.. Fit me just fine. I've shot 92's since I was 12. Always felt the most natural to me

    I'm a Beretta M9 owner who shot the Glock 19 today for the first time. Noticeable differences; the weight of the Glock is definitely lighter and recoil has a bit more punch, the Glock trigger is a bit weird to me since I'm not used to it, I couldn't figure out if I always want to keep the little trigger depressed for subsequent shots or release it all the way, was causing me to flinch a bit, a few times the Glock would eject the casing right back at my face, whereas the Beretta flings the casings over your right shoulder every single time. So the Berettas my baby, but different guns take practice to get the hang of.

      The glock can definitely feel like holding on to fish while shooting it. The short handle and increased recoil due to light weight polymer frame just makes them so hard to shoot one handed

    I have a 92FS Centurion compact which would be a much better size match to the Glock 19. It may be a compact but it still has that big fat perfectly comfortable Beretta grip. I love that grip. If you appreciate a bigger grip, you just can't go wrong with a Beretta 92/96.

    I love the double action for my M9. My thumps had no problem training first shot only at the range today. I took things slow for about 200 rounds only training that cusp of the trigger firing within the double action.

    I absolutely love all glocks. I would say the 92 being longer and heavier would probably be easier for first timers to be more accurate would you agree with that ?

    2 great handguns! I like the Beretta 92FS better, but both are awesome, you can get 30 round mags for the Beretta. I have Mec Gar 18+2 mags and they are maybe 1/2 inch past flush. The Mec Gar 18 round mag sits flush!

    Beginner firearm owner here. Just got a Beretta 92 FS as my first gun. Between all of the fan favorite 9mm hand guns I just had to go with the one which is “idiot proof.” It has a weird daft and decock yeah but because everything is weird it means you need to be very intentional when handling it so I prefer it. The Glock. I had some experience loading and unloading it during the firearm safety course. I didn’t get to shoot it but there are a few functions of the Glock I didn’t care for. My uncle is a town cop and swears by reliability of the Glock. But I on the other hand wanted to go with the Beretta,

    Sir, I love your videos but on this issue I clearly stand on the other side of the fence. I used the Beretta for years in service, and as law enforcement. Given the choice I will take my Beretta all day. As for carry or concealed carry this gun was not designed to be a concealed carry gun it was meant to be a military/law enforcement gun so no it does not play well for that roll. Speaking about this gun for concealed carry is like criticizing a Ferrari for poor off road performance. As to the Glock I have only shot one once in my life and it malfunctioned on the first shot.
    That said I think we are both biased, but I do thank you for all of the great videos please keep doing what you're doing.

    Hickok, I've carried the 92FS (stainless) inside my IWB for years. Glad I did it too when I almost carried a .25ACP one day, the passed on my Model 6o Chief one and and went withy 92. I went to a gun shop a little later where someone thought it would be a good idea to tey and rob it. As I was pulling my 92, I remember thinking, "Thank God I have to be 16 rounds!"

    I may be one of the few people who find the Glock beautiful to look at, it’s very aesthetically pleasing to my eye. The only reason I don’t own one is because I already own an M9 and I’m big enough to carry it without any discomfort. If there was a glock with a metal frame instead of plastic I’d have to own it, I’ve just never been a fan of plastic framed pistols.
