Fun fact: In the original script Ryan Coogler wrote before Chadwick’s passing, it was a father son story. The black panther got blipped out in infinity war before he knew he was having a son. The movie would’ve taken place shortly after he got back and found out he has a 5 year old son.

@@camerongough3491agree and not a hot take from what I’ve seen. Even the people who didn’t like this movie say it wasn’t the fact the movie lacked a black panther/T chala, most of the time it’s because the movie doesn’t feel the same as the BP they fell in love with. I think this movie shows how amazing Ryan Coogler is, and his flexibility handling something like this while grieving too.

Though I sympathize with this statement, I believe that this movie kinda let us all down in the end. This movie was not really made for a Marvel fan and it had a lot of messages pretty apparent, white man is bad kinda message and it kinda ended hurting this movie a lot. I know this might sound serious, but I kinda feel like this movie was just a way for Marvel/Hollywood to monotize on Chadwicks death. I only watched this movie via Stream and Im glad I did, though it was sad how this movie started it would make me even sadder paying money to watch this.

one little detail i really like is that the Talokanil are only blue when they're *not* underwater. Because they get oxygen through the water, so when they're on land they're not getting as much as they're used to.

I’ve somewhat recently became a father, my boy is 2. Unfortunately it didn’t work out with me and his mom. That happened a little before this movie came out. When I see his son sit down with Shuri, and even without really knowing his Dad he shows a clear love and admiration for him. Brings me to tears every time.
Probably just getting way too personal and divulging too much, but I know I struggled with the idea of not being there always when my boy needs me. Or the fear of something happening to him when I could’ve been there to prevent it. Or the fear of something happening to me so I’m not here to protect him at all. So seeing that reality of him having a son, and the great Black Panther isn’t their to protect him. It just really hits for me.

I'm not sure what you mean by the film not "hitting as a hard" without Chadwick, I actually feel like the way they did it (centering the film around his passing) was a phenomenal choice and "hit hard." People said they would have liked a recast to continue T'Challa's story, and some said they should not continue, and some even said to write him out but not have him pass--but I think the way they handled it was just so beautiful. It didn't feel like he "wasn't there"--it felt like he *was,* in every scene. So rare for a film to capture that feeling, actually portraying a legacy lingering over people's heads without just saying that's what's happening. You really feel it here, in every shot, and the fact that the movie is even remotely good (saying this for effect, I think it's actually VERY good lol) despite all of the trouble they faced with his passing is a testament to how much they cared about him as a person, and not just the character.

In my opinion, this was really a pretty strong way to wrap up Phase 4. Much stronger than the previous movie, Love and Thunder. Thor 4 had it's moments, but the more I think about it the more I dislike it because of the over saturation of the jokes and bits like the screaming goats. I think even Chris Hemsworth isn't fully satisfied with the final product either since he commented afterwards that if he got to do another movie he would like to try going in a different direction. Got a bit side tracked, but Wakanda Forever is a touching tribute and way to establish Shuri as the next Black Panther. I'm interested to see if M'Baku will also receive the heartshaped herb and become another Black Panther. I'm looking forward to seeing these characters again in the future of the MCU.

Ree-Ree's super-hero name is "Iron-Heart", and in the comics she was Stark's protogée before Stark died. So the similar visual elements are on purpose.

Wakanda Forever was the perfect sequel to the first one. From an artistic stand point it is a much better film than the original film and has some of the best acting ever in the MCU. Letitia Wright and Angela Bassett were incredible. It was hard to watch at first without Chadwick but Ryan Coogler does a very good job that although he isn't physically on screen, his presence is constantly felt throughout the movie. Namor was an excellent villain too and the soundtrack rocks in every way. A solid film and well within my top 10 MCU films.

Still i'm so glad they did not recast T'challa , it would have "failed" to hit even more than the movie we got . And oddly as a comics fan , a major Black Panther and T'challa comics fan , some part of me wishes the character was still around , even without Chadiwk Boseman , but it just would not work the same for the movies .

The reason its’s slower is because they have to tell a whole new story and give you the exposition and back story not the new characters. We were introduced to Black Panther in Civil War and we didn’t have to go into a lot of the character development to understand why the motivations behind the characters actions. Even with Kilmonger they were able to give us simple explanation for his motivations and we all understood his assignment. Where as with this movie you aren’t only getting to learn the motivations of a new antagonist, you’re getting to learn the motivations of a new protagonist. Plus this isn’t an action movie, it’s a movie about grieve with a little action added
