Tom Scholz of the band Boston invented the Rockman in the early 1980's. It did not need a tablet and an app to function. You could plug any model of headphones into it, and it had a line out. Super interesting product GF, this is missing wired in and outs. I still lean towards THR with line outs, and record, plus I can take cans off and hear myself. $400 for headphones w/ Li-Ion batteries’ and 3-5 year lifespan with no input or future usage potential is a concern personally. I’ve also heard this first batch has some “drift effect” that may or may not be fixed via firmware update. Seems that Boss may have been a bit aggressive on the steering of volume between left and right ears. Definitely on my radar for Waza-Air mk ii.
you should've just laid the headphones flat, maybe on a audio damping surface to avoid rattle, and mic them but i don't know if that would even sound good at all
Just wish there was some kind of demo on how they actually sound. As far as I know boss/katana/Waza has really good tones but a quick taste if the sound would have been nice, they seem cool overall
These are Katana tones, and there are tons of demos on the internet of those. For these headphones, check out the Andertons demo which had a special microphone set up.
I always find when I play guitar with headphones on through amp sims on my computer, it's always way too toppy and ruins the sound for me. Does this sound different to just playing with headphones on through an amp sim?
These are awesome, but $400 is WAYYYYY too expensive for that. You could buy a Katana 50 just for the headphone function and some great headphones and still spend less than this... Or you could just buy 2 Katana 50's and strap them to your head to make headphones out of them.

does it do metal really well? can you get an ENGL or a boosted mesa boogie rectifier with eq type of tones on these headphones?
Super interesting product GF, this is missing wired in and outs. I still lean towards THR with line outs, and record, plus I can take cans off and hear myself. $400 for headphones w/ Li-Ion batteries’ and 3-5 year lifespan with no input or future usage potential is a concern personally.
I’ve also heard this first batch has some “drift effect” that may or may not be fixed via firmware update. Seems that Boss may have been a bit aggressive on the steering of volume between left and right ears. Definitely on my radar for Waza-Air mk ii.
is it possible the 1/4" the transmitter plugs in to be an output ?
Do a giveaway for the sweetwater candies
Burak Beygu all the atomic fireballs!
@@CoreyAllgood I didn't get atomic fireballs???
agreed
dude, sweet water always sends the banana taffy taffy, the f*#%
PS i have one and it does sound great. I love it. Obviously great for fiddling while there are others who need general quiet.
you should've just laid the headphones flat, maybe on a audio damping surface to avoid rattle, and mic them but i don't know if that would even sound good at all
One of these 3D-audio microphones could be a nice try to test this kind of stuff... like the 3Dio or something else...
Whats that shecter model?Just bought myself a shecter omen 6 for dirt cheap with only a tint dunt out of the headstock, best investment ive made!
Looks like a hellraiser. My favourite guitars. Since I got a hellraiser c-1 special I don't like most other guitars I play.
can it be used as normal bluetooth headphones?
Just wish there was some kind of demo on how they actually sound. As far as I know boss/katana/Waza has really good tones but a quick taste if the sound would have been nice, they seem cool overall
These are Katana tones, and there are tons of demos on the internet of those. For these headphones, check out the Andertons demo which had a special microphone set up.
I always find when I play guitar with headphones on through amp sims on my computer, it's always way too toppy and ruins the sound for me. Does this sound different to just playing with headphones on through an amp sim?
Sweetwater RULES.
These are awesome, but $400 is WAYYYYY too expensive for that. You could buy a Katana 50 just for the headphone function and some great headphones and still spend less than this... Or you could just buy 2 Katana 50's and strap them to your head to make headphones out of them.
feel free to send me your sweetwater candy. im resigned to my fatness
Wait until you get into hardcore fasting Glen. That's when the fun starts.
Fasting is the way. I used to compete in natural bodybuilding and as of the last 10 years I had a hard time getting ripped again with eating clean and drinking. Then I found fasting. Did like 12 two day fasts in a month and lost 20 lbs, then started doing OMAD and lost another 9lbs. Now I'm 190lbs.
He Glenn.
Great video. I also seen this headphone pop-up on youtube lately and I would love to use it. One question however. I always play the guitar with youtube backing tracks and Bias Fx on the Ipad. Bias fx can do "Background Audio Mode" that keeps Bias FX running when you switch to another app. RUclips must be running in order for you to hear the track. I know you can load music with the headphone but can it also run in the background ? Thanks Glenn 👍
Just put a headphone splitter on the headphone out jack? Is that too obvious - or am I missing something?
The problem is that there isnt any headphone jack as he said.
??? GLENN!!!!!!! Can't get your Spider Valve video to play!!!
Hey glenn, I watched Andertons.co.uk video on this and they recorded the sound with a binaural microphone set in a mannequin head contraption. there is no audio out on these phones
Can you hook these up together to jam with a buddy?
What ENGL model is that in the background?
On the Boss headphone app., record might be at the top right of the app, is a small red button.
Did you try putting the headphones over the mic in front of you, so that we might be able to hear something?.
I only go through sweetwater! The only time I don't is if they don't carry something I need or want.
Was gonna get a schecter 7 string. But I found an Ibanez rg 7 string with one volume knob, emgs and a killswitch, Fuckin amazing.
You can use 3Di's binaural microphone to record the sound.
As a bass player I thank Boss for the warning on the plastic bag.
These are pretty neat. Maybe a little pricey for what I feel the target demographic is
This sounds really nice, does it work on Android as well? Also no built in recording function seems like a dealbreaker :/
Yeah there's an Android app.
