- Trying out the Boss Waza Air Headphones. A pair of guitar modeling headphones that simulate a virtual environment which makes the experience a little bit more immersive. Also somewhat of a challenge demoing these but I think I did a good job!

Disclosure: Boss sent me these headphones for free for the purposes of this demo. As with all of my demos and reviews, receiving products from companies does not impact the statements I make in videos. I always give my unbiased views, burps and fart sound effects included. My dedication is to you, my loved metal gear nerds, and helping you make smart buying decisions so you can achieve maximum chug.
If you have headphones, use them while watching this video! It's waaaaay cooler.
Get outta my brain all crawling around in my empty space. Ok that's enough. Get back in.
Great idea!! The sensation of hearing the demo with earphones was a very realistic experience!!
That is cool as shit! Using true 7.1 headphones (5 drivers per ear) and wow. Really freakin cool.
Always use my headphones. I'm surprised how full the tone is with a pair of headphones, although they are made by BOSS. Really rich Mids and lows, very surprised. I never even wear headphones in the studio when I'm double tracking my Riffs, I prefer using my Producers kick ass Klipsch Monitors. I only use headphones for my solid state amp during the night, and that's when I write mostly, then I test those riffs with my Peavey Valveking during the day, too see which ones I like with more gain, and clearer gain.
i will listen to you
Literally everyone else that reviews these headphones: These are so cool! I just wish there was a way for you to hear them, but they’re on my head! Oh well, watch me move my head around and be amazed!” Ola reviewing these headphones: “Problem solved”. Killer demo man!
I agree, he knocked it out of the park, he used some pretty cool technology to review the headphone. I have a set of these and I listened to the video wearing them like he suggested and you can hear the difference as he twirls the headset around, way cool.
There is a sweetwater demo with mics that is kinda similar. Ola is more fun though
"I finally have a pair." - Ola Englund, 2020
At the price not surprised it took him awhile to get
hahahahahagahahhahahahahahh
Waza!
I just got my pair a few days ago.
You guys just got one? Do u enjoy it? Does it sound good?
One Hack. You can plug the wireless transmitter into the output of your signal chain whether it is a pedal, pedal board, or multi-effects processor. See the Anderton's demo.
There is a separate Waza Bass Air set of headphones for our 4-5 string mates with lower frequency response in the drivers/speakers.
Dude you're like the first person to say this I was wondering if anyone has done it.
I just been asking that question myself. So these headphones plus ua ruby, or a marshall amp in box perfect. now another thing, is there a simple way to get pc audio... ah i have too many headphones though. maybe sell some and get these.
and I just suddenly found a solution. I have a focusrite scarlette, a ua volt and all that, just plug into the headphone out of there.
Old your channel is honestly one of the best places to come for reviews and demos, keep it real man
I think your the only one to figure out how to actually demo these. Go ola
The Andertons review of this was perfect. Your review is perfecterer! Well done Ola 🤘
Andertons are annoying !!!!! Spend too much time talking utter shit instead of getting on with reviewing the items in hand
Best Demo I have seen of these Phones, 10/10 Ola
I have these headphones. I have an esp Eclipse . I love to play along to Rammstein. I think the waza’s are absolutely fantastic. I think the metal tones are wicked. Honestly never practiced as much as this before but they are soooo good all I want to do is play ! It’s like virtually playing along with Rammstein live, in a huge stadium. Sick !!
Absolutely fantastic demo of the boss waza headphone amplifier. I have yet to see a demo where the spatial element was captured so well. Really rich with information, thank you!!!
Beautiful job Ola. The solution adopted by you to demonstrate the equipment was ingenious and you've earned the praise in full. Thanks and keep it up!
A good use of these is a warm up before a concert . A lot of people in a dressing room, everybody is talking, outside a big noise coming from a band playing before your own, and you need to warm up your chops, bingo you put these on and silence . Lets rockin.
As a bedroom player I cannot agree with you, lovely Ola (excuse me if I did not understand properly, my english is just poor), but most metal guitar players are playing with headphones in their homes because of neighborhood (and with this pandemic more than usual because here in Spain there´s no gigs), and at least in my case, I always play with headphones firing my Triaxis into my DAW with IRs and a lot of amp sims...maybe is the reason that I am almost deaf!!! next step for me...total madness!!
You're English is perfect.
Damn u got triaxis!
@@AD1978leo thanks man, is because to write a sentence I need at least 20 min and take a look to the google translator...:)
@@RadityoPramAdi Yes man, and in this days of the Back in Black 40th anniversary I´m diging it in LD2 Red at low gain levesl to achieve Angus tones and it´s works!!! But the most important thing to get a bedroom tone is a good IR, IMHO
@@danthrax7407 IR has been a revelation for bedroom playing, hope I can get triaxis too some day.. Cheers man!
Just joined, great review of the Headphones, I bought it a couple years ago and I'm just now trying them out. Their pretty cool to use and I'm sure my neighbors are happier with a bit more silence. I see this video came out a year ago, anyway, good stuff, I like your setup, wow, you've got some nice gear. I'll be checking our your other videos. Thanks!
Greetings from Norway,.. Brilliant to bring these to the Guitarshop when trying a new guitar.. Dont have to bother waiting in turn in the amp room. This headset will be the Christmas present to self this year :-) Thank you Ola 😃
Im watching/listening on a Samsung S20 and the sound is shifting. So equally cool, in my book. Thanks
Dude! Ola you rock! This demo was great, put my headphones on and I was immersed. Very cool! I just bought a pair. Thanks!
I've been waiting long for a product for silent jam at my bedroom w/o bothering my family & the neighbor - it's quite a pain to practice my guitar while living in a tiny apartment of city downtown. I own an Orange Rocker 15, which has a 0.5W channel designed specifically for home practice, but it's still too loud at late night, not even to mention the pain to jam along w/ a guitar backing track in this way, neither do I really enjoy my guitar at that low volume - it sounds dying. However, I was hesitated when I heard about BOSS WAZA AIR a few months ago. At that moment, all the guys on youtube just keep talking w/o really demoing how it sound on the video. I didn't feel like throwing my money into another crap just because it looks cool.
Ola, you really did a good job for demoing this epic product, I've already bought one after watching your video, it packs everything needed for wireless silent jam, and sounds quite good to me.
Awesome, man.
This was the best review for this product, well done! I have one of these and it was one of the best purchases I've ever done, and I'm really picky. I have no space at all for amp and I've tried many high-end pedal-boards and all of them sound really bad for rock/metal on headphone. Boss Waza air is different, it has this surround sound effect that makes way more realistic. The gyro though is just something to impress on the first usage, not that useful on the long run, but the regular static surround sounds beautiful even for distortion. I really wished they had an audio output or interface integrated on its USB port.
Next Wazza Air version should be for a an entire band, 2 guitars, bass , e-drums, song and everyone can hear everyone thru a mix app...
I have a pair of these and i absolutely love them, also own a yamaha thr and katana 100 mk2. Those sound better than both when played on headphones or at low volume. It's just a shame boss is prooving extremely lazy with updating the app, but for an home player they are an amazing tool and sound miles better than a big amp played at whispering volumes.
I got a pair...and love them. Just a pity they didn`t was at sale in my youth, have driven many neighbours to anger in my days.
Have even got to move several times just Because of my playing.
Bättre sent än aldrig🤘 Greetings from Sweden Meshuggahland(and of course Olaland)🙏
You aren't kidding, lol. My neighbors never complained (or my parents never told me they did), but I used a half stack for practice in my bedroom with different heads through the years (Mesa, Peavey, Fender, Marshall), often with an open window.
You have to bee a blessed person🙏Dont forgett i live in Sweden, Supercountry in many ways, but neighbours are kinky about your Musical style especially in apartmenthouses ( if you dont like Dansbandsmusik). After 22:00 weekdays and 23:00 Friday/Saturday you have to shut up or else the Police comes for a visit🤘😁
How are the tones? Do you get a good metal tone out of it?
Ola. You are the KING of testing shit.
I love seeing you just nerding out and having a laugh it truly makes my day week month and year complete ola ! 😎🤘
Ola: now it should be like as if i'im RIGHT BEHIND YOU
me: NANI?!
it did, i could even feel his breath on my neck when he said that
Make a "most versatile bedroom metal rig"
Line 6 helix stomp and a 1x8 headrush frfr speaker
For me, to combine Triaxis with Torpedo WoS and a DAW is a win, I tried ADA mp1, Marshall JMP1 preamp, Mesa Studio preamp (all cheaper than a Triaxis) and sounded amazing also. I had an Ax8, incredible machine but...the ampsims are ok, thousands of options, but something have the valves that always make me come back to them, you know, there´s a lot of marvelous toilets in the world...but nothing better than shitting at home!! that´s my feeling with my old valves preamps
Already been made, it's called a cock lol.
They would match my amp, I have the Katana Mk2.
Thanks for being a good teacher, and inspiring people.
We need more people like you.
Thank you
Have A Nice Day 🙂
"Ola's ASMR virtual room tour"
wow the experience is amazing! thanks for this review
Great! Been waiting for this! Thanks!
Yeah trippy concerning the positioning..thx dude!
next from boss to practice at home is the boss waza expression slippers
Awsome Technology. The Aliens are amazing Producers of Tech. Have a Excellent Friday!
Best demo of the waza air headphones I've seen yet.
I'm listening this with Arctic 5 gaming headphone, and I feel amazing surrounding sound, so immersive!!
This is the best guitar amp experience so far. Thank you so much Ola!!!
I have to buy these now... thanks Ola 🤘
Great job on the demo, Ola! Very ingenious solution to show things from the headphone wearer's perspective.
Ola! Que tal? Excellent demo! I just purchased one on emotion and am justifying with logic by checking out various reviews. Your demo is better than the one Boss recorded at NAMM a couple of years ago. Added bonus, I LMAO on occasion (e.g. your mug at 5:37). Cheers amigo!
Holy shit! What a demo! It’s like I’m in the room...having coffee with Ola!
Future of rock concerts: A hall full of people with headphones on, rotating like jackasses.
Silent Mosh Pit
Guessing you've never been to a silent rave?
@@KaiDown Nope! 😲
That is cool u can have a silent party anytime without the neighbours complain
The average age of death is 78 in the U.S.....the average age of death from coroner virus is 82....yes, the populace is now completely mentally ill and can be herded wherever they are told to go
This is a great way to do the review, thanks!
For distortion through headphones I use the live out of my EVH 5150 into a NuX Solid Studio, taking the line from that through a small, cheap, Behringer mixer into AKG K12 headphones. Can get great sound.
@@miscusername 5150s sound great, but that's a lot of steps and not exactly portable
This gave me major chills 😬
your studio looks so cool
Watching this video with my waza headphones on😂
Great job making this demo, thanks!!!
Pretty innovative way to demonstrate these headphones!
It’s a bad night...
@@OlaEnglund I want... I want milk.
I’m gonna take the smallest LEGO and... and put it in my mouth...
Great video! Thanks Ola🤘
In case of distortion sound in headphones, it depends of headphone voicing. I'm using a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-150, which are great studio hp, and generally metal sound great in them. In terms of playing, I use raw satan50 output into IR in Reaper, and It sounds amazing, difference between cab and hp is really small, almost unnoticeable :D
These things are such a great idea. Every parent will appreciate this.
At this price, the best use for these is someone who's traveling and needs an ultraportable practice solution, imo. But for home use: if you already have plugins on your computer for guitar and a pair of decent headphones, just get something like Blue Cat Re-Head plugin so you can recreate the trick of the amp being behind you.
Beyond headphones, can't wait to see what whole new dimension this Gyro technology will open in cinema !
Such a cool video.
If you watch the Andertons video review of them :) they plugged it in with Pedals and working aswell :D
Very helpful video, thanks mate.
I have a pair. Love them. Should come with a case for that price. Only issue is the gyroscope does drift. I usually set it to surround.
Beautiful Guitar
I think Boss needs to start producing their own Waza in-ear monitoring headphones as well as a guitar amp rack unit. Probably won't happen but I can dream...
The sound in your studio sounds beautiful, can you tell me the setup?
wow this is awesome and sounding sick
Subscribed to Ola a few months ago. And 6:36 caught me off guard. Didn't expect a Jazz lick from this guy at all. Hahahah.
wow wow wow this gear is amazing!!
Ola reviews are on a whole different level....
I have been using headphones with a pod go at night. Headphones are not the same for sure though. Video was pretty awesome
You can also change your settings to use your pedalboard. They are well worth the $400 if you can find them available.
uhh yeah❤🔥 Your final statement about possible future-Headphones is my Vision❣
Nice practice amp for sure. Not sure I would ever need the VR feature.
Anything you wish for in this life as a guitar player ( beginner or intermediate does not matter) happens thru these headphones. I am
not joking, i have got even Boss katana artis mkii 100 , tube amp, pedals amplitubes and any sort of set up to hear once in life time great guitar tone. And finally my wish came true. The preser tones are already so good right off the bat. Whomever thinks that it is expensive and you can get sames tones with jalf the price headphones by simply connecting to amp then your are wrong. I cant imagine the next generation of this , if there is metaverse this is audioverse or heaven
Seems like a cool way to test a Headset 🤘
"Now I'm right behind you... Playing my guitar" Scary Ola
Impressive demo!
these do the same trick the airpods do when watching movies on iphone and mac, hmmm this could be interesting. so not really too bothered about the amp fx, but how would they be plugged into my pedal board with maybe an amp in the box added to the chain?
this is very clever
Ola is amazing
Just ordered mine, late to the game, brilliant review man!
I need a pair of these bad boys! They seem fucking awesome
Very interesting device and cool video!
hi
I am thinking to buy ..
is it work withe mixer
if I connect to the mixer jack ?
3:34 "Today on 'Will It Chug?' I'll be testing out this Martin dreadnought single cut."
Excellent...
Works pretty well with earphones! Just when its "behind" me it almost feels like its behind me but not quite. Still wicked though
I think that for price $$$$ like this they should have jack output :D
Especially considering they have a jack right on them for pairing. Would be sick if it served a dual purpose.
@@drfraust3117 mkII
I wouldn't mind seeing optical out instead because then you wouldn't have to push power off your head nor have your head strung literally to a speaker cab lol you're paying for the Boss low latency wireless system and I'm expecting access to the entire BOSS toneprint library and effects catalog via software (there's software for PC/Mac iOS/Android) so you can still sit around and create presets that you can push to your, in my case, Katana Air. people really don't see the potential of wireless/software 1-2 punch we're getting even in the smaller products.
The headphones, to me, seem mostly like what you'd have if you made the Katana Air an amp head and then made that amp head into head phones.
I don't agree with the statement that it cannot throw out good distorted sounds. I just received it as a Christmas gift, and I was literally scared of the crap distorted sound but after I put in the FX a graphic eq and scooped the sound now it really crash, smash and chugs. So to be short if you want to achieve a good metal sound just put a graphic eq 🤟
Amazing review 👌
OLA is always Smart
definitely need to be able to send what you hear to an amp. nice demo.
Could you run the jack on the output of a distortion pedal for better distortion?
Yes you can do that...check out andersons review of them, i think they did that in the video. 👍🎸
@3:45 is that the Alex Lifeson Chord ? X)
For the next Will It Chug Ola should try out the gamechanger audio plasma distortion 😉
That's a better fuzz for bass than guitar.
and for a classic bluetooth amp for sound card and pedalboard ?
Comedian Gary Muledeer would have flung a rubber tipped arrow off of his guitar and knocked those headphones right off the stand. One shot! Great headphones!!
The giro stuff is just a gimmick, I'd try it once then shut it off. Cool demo though to really show the effect.
True, the gyro stuff is way too ever the top, becomes quickly annoying and anyway you can't track movement in efficient manner without an ir lighthouse somewhere in the room.
Not a gimmick it works I prefer surround but the gyro is not a gimmick its cool.
Anythings a gimmick until your looked down upon for not having or using whatever becomes the norm.
Ola, I would love to hear you do this demo again, but with a tube screamer or boost pedal in front of it. I bet that would help solve the issue of the distortion being so flat and floppy.
This video tickled my brain wearing headphones 🤯
Does the quality of the guitar change the quality of the sound or is it like a programmed sound in the headphones so all guitars will sound the same? Thanks
what is dollar amount of your studio love it
Put transmitter in floor modeler output 3 or 4, , bluetooth backing tracks, then put wireless gtr transmitter in input. now you have total wireless for practicing.
Sold
I dont care about the metal tones so I ordered a pair just now, I live in a appartment and allways play electric guitar unplugged because it´s a hassle with the cables and everything when I´m sitting in the kitchen and having a smoke so this will be awsome
Hey man love the videos always come to you for reveiws do you still recommend these in 2024 im thinking of getting them for in the fire center
That guitar look fantastic
