    These headphones + Justin Guitar app on my iPad is how I've finally practiced regularly for long enough to get callouses for the first time in my ten year ordeal of trying to stick with the guitar for long enough to actually get any progress. I feel like I'm not that many weeks away from getting over the "when does this get fun?" threshold.

    They're great! Had 'em for two years. Never much played my electric before, and this changed the game. The only issue I have is that they randomly start crackling, the volume fluctuates, and they lose connection a bunch. Hoping that the 1.3 firmware will help. But when they work, they're amazing!

    • @noanshere
      @noanshere 15 дней назад

      It's probably an issue with gain/input level. Similar to speakers when the input level/gain knob of the guitar resches a certain threshold, the sounds produce a crackle from the electric guitar. Idk, that's how audio interfaces work, nit sure with the headphones.

  • @BenHayesDesigner
    @BenHayesDesigner Год назад +4

    The one con you didn't mention though-there appears to be no way to get audio out. You didn't explain how your false head contraption works, but I am guessing it's a way to capture the sound from the phones and get a line-out? If BOSS could add a stereo mini-jack output somewhere on the phones, that would be good. Otherwise what happens if you find just the right tone, and come up with the perfect new solo, but there is literally no way to capture it without getting a different amp?

    Is there a way to Output the sound to a recording console? Bluetooth output and / or 3.5mm jack?... I guess as I'm thinking about this the Bluetooth would have too much latency but it would be nice to have a wire connection to a recording console or even to an amp for another option.

  • @wassabi-g7p

    Just got my electric guitar. Already had a pair of Sennheiser hd650 and a Beyerdynamics DT700 ProX. Went to the music store and tried about 10 amps in combination with both headphones and all of them sounded muffled with both headphones, let alone some could even drive the HD650 properly. Then the music store guy gave me these to try, instant wow. Very expensive…but love them, aside from the very decent sound quality it’s so simple to use and makes me grab the guitar more often. *the giro-scope thingy is a gimmick and I turnerd it off altogether

  • @douglaspate9314
    @douglaspate9314 29 дней назад

    Thank you Justin. I've been looking at these and appreciate your input. They are definitely not expensive as I think for about 350€ you have a super advance technological device to help with "silent practice". And if you want to test out a guitar in a shop, take them with. you. Or to a trade fair? Your didn't mention this as I see it as a mega help to try out guitars in audio hostile environments.

    These headphones are great, they offer guitar practice without annoying the crap out of everybody around you using an amp, even at low volumes. Mine came with a hard shell zip up case. I never knew that you could play a backing track to play along to. My only disappointment is that the model I have has loaded presets which are so bloated with gain and you are overwhelmed with parameters and affects. I only wish Boss offered a choice of Amps like Axe FX and you were able to manipulate the settings as you please.

    Will these work with a keyboard instrument in addition to guitars, or is the line-level output on other types of instruments too high for the input on the Waza's transmitter? I'd like to be able to use something like this on both my keyboard and my guitar, but I couldn't find anything in the instruction manual that evens mentions keyboard instruments.

    But I had this need about 10 years ago to learn and keep the noise down. For the same money that these are now I purchased a Yamaha Silent Guitar (SLG 100S) and it’s the perfect tool for quiet (not annoying neighbours or family) practice or playing.
    Most importantly do these headphones come complete with a bag of skill? I have two of Justin’s early beginners’ books and I’m still a beginner 8 years on. Ahh well perhaps motivation is a better thing rather than gear….?

    Your review is spot on. These are so great when I'm in my condo in Mexico and want to play away without bothering my neighbors. The only thing that is an irritant is that when using it with the iPhone Apple Play (play along) after some time goes by, it all of a sudden the sound begins to stutter and kick in and out. You have to stop down, close out, reload and start over to get rid of that. I asked others on a FB page, and a lot of guys said it happens to them too. Boss made the excuse that it was the location of my wifi. Puhleese! I did all the moving around and repositioning I could. It's a bug and needs to be addressed.
