    I just purchased the Air Bass version and the price shocked me, but in the long run I'm glad I purchased it. About as expensive as a nice practice amp but now I can play anytime I want, and as loud as I want, and I won't bother anybody. With the Bluetooth through the iPad I can get my music to listen to also. While my Mac sees the Bluetooth it the Waza Air won't pick it up, but that may be because I have to adjust something. I'm not the most computer literate person, so it may be just me, but other than that I really like these and it was very user friendly to set up and use. If you want something you can use anytime and anywhere I'd recommend trying these.

    I reckon the ability to record your sessions is at the top of the heap in terms of requests. An integrated looper second. One thing to consider with both is keeping the Airs cable free though. That really is the entire point of the Air line. I believe Mooer or somebody else have made a little practice dongle that does allow recording and can send out your audio streamed over Bluetooth. Something like that would be a really welcome addition in a WAZA air mk ii.

    • @PBOD
      @PBOD  Год назад +3

      Totally agree, these could absolutely be the next step in simplified gigging we’re they able to have monitor out and wireless input from a desk

    • @AlecBourneMidiMadScientist
      @AlecBourneMidiMadScientist Год назад +2

      @@PBOD dunno if you've clocked @scott uhl's channel. He started using that Mooer version of a modelling guitar with basic footswitch for gigging. Pretty rad idea . Me I'm constantly fidgeting with the Variax and WAZA/Katana as an even more potent travel rig.
      I reckon there could be a market there if the Yamaha / Line6 / BOSS folk would look at it a bit sideways. So far this is all regarded as niche products or stuff for gigging pros - but really when you think about it. For a beginner or intermediate or home player this kinda modular smart guitar rig is exactly what you would want to start with. A guitar that can be any guitar and a micro rig all in your guitar case with line outs for amplification.
      It really should exist by now.

      Is there no way to attach looper into these, other than obviously guitar to looper via cable and looper's output to that dongle?

    • @AlecBourneMidiMadScientist
      @AlecBourneMidiMadScientist 11 месяцев назад

      @@mikko8574 currently that is the only way at all for the WAZA as there is no other form of input. That or hack the headset and tap the speaker outs but this is invasive and clearly kills any applicable warranty. There’s a new box coming from xsonic which will give you a usb breakout to analog fx loop, essentially giving desktop amps without an fx loop the chance. If you have a looper with the WAZA air, for it to actually function now you need to create a signal chain ahead of the looping pedal or there is little point. Works great with any pairing such as a hxstomp or something similar.

    Got these when they first came out, and while I don't use them as much as I used to, they're still undeniably great. Ironically, the headphones are the ONLY boss amp product in the katana-verse that actually has a built in tuner!!! Yeah, the gyro cannot handle when you don't keep your head perpendicular to the ground, as mentioned.....I usually just set them to static or surround. It was a fun idea, but ultimately it's uneccessary.

      @PBOD quick update: received them and I must say that this is an amazing practice tool! I love them. Refreshing to lose that temptation of recording everything immediately. It allows me to be present and not micro-listen to every bar but flow through. Tried my #synth and a very interesting sound came through. These are great and for 400 bucks let's hope they maintain their quality for years to come. Unplug yourself step into the privacy of your world and jam on, without disturbing a neighbor or pets (my dog starts to howl with certain notes). It does sound as if outside speakers are blasting on stage. I'm not the biggest fan of the "gyroscope" mode. But I wouldn't remove it though I'm happy it's available. Other than that, they look great, the sound is great, lot of tweaking to the amps that I assume from the reviews are tricky to adjust and time-consuming, all for playing music that cannot be recorded. But that's the point for me I guess. I just wanna jam to myself and practice it looks great with a vintage style. And 2 more extra points.
      1 these are the smallest headphones 🎧 I've ever seen. On video they look big In comparison to my Tascam, once I opened the box I was like dam!? These are tiny! But once I heard them, amazing looked in the mirror they were robust.
      2. These are perfect for anyone who may be "hesitant" to play because they are afraid of critique from family or an audience or annoying brother or sister. With just a guitar and headphones, go anywhere easily and freely.
      This is an awesome practice tool I hope they last for years to come!

    This is my main "amp" for almost a year and a half now, but man, I'm missing the proper footswitch control. For me Airstep and Boss' own solution just don't cut. Waza is about comfort and easiness of use, so I would really like to see some sort of next-level midi-controller for it: with multiple switches, expression pedal, looper & drum machine controller, and proper display. Basically a processor, but without most of the processing guts inside of it.
    But I understand that this would be a VERY niche product, so maybe they could make something like Line6 Pod GO that can also have a midi controller mode specifically for waza air. What will happen in reality: nothing, we will be stuck with all these half-baked workarounds, so that this amazing product will never be a complete package.

    • @PBOD
      @PBOD  Год назад +2

      I wouldn’t put it past Xsonic to create something like this, a Airstep Deluxe for example would be amazing for this task.

    • @fabronaut7478

      I've thought about trying these out, but the price was always a massive deterrent. feels like they would've sold loads more if the price was ~30% less at retail, minimum.
      I figure it's also just a really expensive paperweight the day the app stops workin... and then I'm screwed. :/
      Yamaha now has a pair of extremely low latency wireless open back headphones, but they're also really expensive. it's hard for me to know if these things are worth the money without trying them, and the price is high enough that I don't want to be "that guy" who repeatedly buys stuff only to return it a couple weeks later.
      that said, I can see those lasting me much longer, as they're not likely to break with an iOS / Android update, phone or tablet upgrade, software jank, etc.

    How do you think they'd implement a looper on the waza air?

    • @AlecBourneMidiMadScientist
      @AlecBourneMidiMadScientist Год назад +3

      Adding a looper is a really tough ask. Possibly beyond the capability of the current hardware and memory inside the present WAZA airs - but it most definitely could be integrated into a new one. To be done right I think you’d want to see BOSS pull out all the stops and drop a WAZA Air bundle with a wireless foot controller that’s quite a bit more serious than their FS-1-WL, or the EV-1-WL.
      Those are both cool devices especially used with plugins and apps - just way too simple. You’d want a bit of kit that absolutely SLAMS ❤.

    • @PBOD
      @PBOD  Год назад

      Simply via the extra foot switches which boss and others supply.

    • @AlecBourneMidiMadScientist
      @AlecBourneMidiMadScientist Год назад +1

      @@PBOD maybe not quite so simple, and maybe not with the existing offer of fs-1-wl or the airsteps even. Now this yes could be me being picky, but I would always aim way higher than what's on offer today. If you look at the FS1 that is only 3 switches with zero intelligence built in. If you need preset up and down, rec play stop as a total basic you are struggling. Maybe a 5 is ok expanding it, but in my experience and talking to live looping folks it still isn't enough, you kinda want led rings or pipes like on the helix or more advanced controllers.
      Using the red gold and green selectors for FX as well, there is nothing at the moment off the shelf which does this. For the Waza you have Zero visible feedback so this stuff is kinda critical. Even for the big katana the ideal to me is to use this gear standing at listening distance and not glued to the amp itself where the LEDs are. If BOSS is gonna do it, it should be an all singing and dancing super rig without compromises.
