I still think the waza air are the single best piece of gear I ever got. Sound amazing, i can play at 2am without anyone complaining, and the sound is good an not tiring to the ears like headphones into an amp.
I bought mine for fun, quiet practice. My primary amp broke a few months later and I was so impressed with the Waza Air headphones that I decided to get a Katana 100 head to replace my broken amp. So I'm likely reverse order of what most would experience. I have enjoyed your videos on Katana settings and hope you get time to go over some of the Waza Air settings. Maybe compare or even try to match software settings between the two products. 👍
Agree they are brilliant. Only downside I have found (apart from warm ears) is that the directional bit ‘drifts’ a little when you look down at the guitar. I’d be interested to see if you experience the same in your review.
Yeah same here i find that surround is perfect for me to practice with. reminds me of being in the studio with a full Marshall stack. Once in a while i may switch the positioning of the sound just to change it up but most of the time just leave it at surround and just play!
Updated my Spark with no issues, I just followed the video guide on the Spark website. I always restart my PC before updating anything and made sure the Spark was on and ready before connecting the USB when instructed, I like my Spark more and more as the months go by.
These are great for playing standing up and moving around,,which is a-lot different than sitting in a chair or on the couch, and obviously for apartment dwellers , Boss puts out great products
I've had these for about a week now and overall I would say they are pretty decent. Clean tones are very nice although some of the higher gain tones are a bit fizzy (also important to either adjust global EQ or preset EQ to taste as out of the box It can sound a bit dark on clean tone settings). All of the reviews I have read about the Waza Air are mostly incredibly positive and although I would agree that much of this is deserved, I wouldn't say these are revolutionary. If you have used some of the top end MAC/PC plugins like Guitar Rig 6 and Amplitube 5, you will know that both of these plugins have outstanding room simulation, particularly Guitar Rig 6, which has almost endless possibilities for simulating different playing environments. For a pair of headphones running on battery, the Waza Air does a decent enough job but you should take claims about studio quality tones and hyper realistic room simulation with a pinch of salt. The one thing that makes the Waza Air really stand out is the gryo technology, but unfortunately this just doesn't work that well due to the well reported issue of 'amp drift' which ruins the experience for me after about 30 seconds. Its a shame because although the basic surround setting is nice, the plugins I use offer better quality ambient room options. Anyway, sorry for the long rant but these are a great silent practice tool for home and for travelling and its so quick to get playing. The sounds and ambience controls are decent, but if you are looking for a true studio quality experience with an absolute ton of room simulation options, consider something like Guitar Rig 6, which is about half the price of the Waza Air.
Hey Paul maybe include in your demo coming up how to use this with a PC and backing tracks. It sounds like you can set the amp/effects using the app on a smartphone then going to the PC and mixing in backing tracks via bluetooth.
Hi Paul. Great rerview, as alwyas. For the Spark update - try to do the update one more time and make sure that at the end you hit the 'Eject' button. It should be updated and working again then. I hope it'll work for you.
These things are a godsend for me! I bought a set a few weeks back and have found myself playing more than ever due to the privacy, easy of use, and tone of these! Love em and would have paid even more than i did!
@@Murphy_R9 I have read a lot of reviews on issues with bluetooth connection dropping out and a pita to reconnect? also most keep it in surround mode for best results?
My own Spark update went well but I'm reading that a few had problems with no sound, fixed by re-doing the update process once or twice more. My tip is to use the video & text description of steps on the Spark site and don't assume you already know how to update stuff. Very easy to get a step wrong even though it's not difficult.
Great review, Paul, as per usual. Fun! If someone would tell me that I can actually upload patches created and saved on my Katana Artist Mk II into these I would rush to buy a pair!
I bought mine about a year ago and the only downside I have found is that after practicing with these amazing headphones everything else sounds crappy.
@@r.llynch4124 Yes that's exactly what I do. I bluetooth my Mac to the Waza-Air and stream backing tracks from RUclips mostly, or from itunes etc. It's amazing.
@@eugenesignorini8270 So you don't need the app to control guitar volume to match the backing tracks and I guess it would work with a pc too? The app is for smartphone/tablet only, right?
@@r.llynch4124 You can control the amp/guitar volume from the headphones and the backing track volume from your PC. Yes the app is for smartphone/tablet only. Honestly, if you're not going to use the Katana app you would be limiting the capabilities of what it offers IMO. That's what gives you the ability to really tweak the amps/effects etc. If you don't use the app you would be limited to the built-in patches that come preset.

I usually use it only and surround mode. As the position mode gets a bit tiring after a while.

You look pretty dapper with the headphones, Paul!
Nice 😃. I own one and I’m interested in the presets you will make for it 🙂 please share these, I would like to hear what you get out of these 👊🏻

I have had my waza headphones for about a year and they have been great. Especially for morning and travel practice.
could I bluetooth from my PC for backing tracks? Not interested in smartphone or tablet. Thanks
@@r.llynch4124 unfortunately the app is a smartphone/tablet only. So not likely

I love mine but hate the app for android constantly disconnects
Awesome review mate 🙏🫡
Damn you! I didn't want to buy these, but now I want them! lol. Every Boss / Roland piece of gear I've bought has been top notch, so damn them too!
Those are awesome. But can you connect them to a GarageBand on iPhones?

I don’t see why not, a full review coming.

one of the first items i bought was the waza air headphone

I ordered these the other day. Should get them in a few days. They’re a little bit cheaper than when they first came out
Enjoy

Cheers Douglas. Boss have done an amazing job on the ambiance effect, you should definitely try some out.
Looks like they are pretty fun to jam with.
Any tips on getting them to playback music I can’t get mine to work tried everything!!
Can you do vocals with it?
I just bought some Sennheiser Momentum 3 headphones. Don’t think the wife would be happy with another £300 purchase, but it may have to be done.🎸🎸🎸🎸
I won’t tell.

Yes I can see that would happen. The ambience setting is something I’d miss playing through something else.
Can you add a backing track from the computer and play along?
EDIT: I would need it to bluetooth from my PC to phones, such as backing tracks I have on my PC, NOT Smartphone or tablet
Yes u can

I tried them and I would buy them with no hesitation if they were 1/3 less expensive.
I hear you, although there is quite a bit of tech in the headphones. I personally feel they are worth the price.
Yes very good
Could Boss send me a pair over ? I promise to love them ,great video Paul really showcased them
