Don't think I'll do the hills you visited but I'd definitely do the low walk along the Loch that Ray did when he camped up Ben Chonzie with you. I completely agree with you.. Ben Chonzie does look like a good walk if you approach it from Loch Turret. As for your knees I hope you recover from the pain. Hi Steve , I sometimes take up a fire log it burns for around 90 mins (I sometimes saw it in half beofre leaving the house so I have two bits to burn). I will let it burn out and it burns away to nothing , not much ash left afters that . Not much in the way of firewood in the treeless scottish hills and TBH one thing that really grates is when I see tree branchs (usually in lower down areas near water) hacked off (most probably for firewood. It doesnt even burn and the tree is destroyed! Anyway - will stop ranting now ;) Been a while since I have used the stove as not been out due to knee issue and might ditch it in the future as it adds extra weight too :)
Take care and thanks for watching

@@ScotlandsMountains Thanks for response Murray. Yeah really gets me irresponsible people hacking live trees for firewood and killing trees. I bought wife some down pants for winter wildcamping . I've got the Rab Argon ones. So I don't have to buy a fire stove now. 😉 🤣no more whinging "I've cold legs now from her ' 🤣 hope the knee gets better soon 🙏

Where do you get your firewood for the twig stove high up in the mountains? Do you carry it with you the whole day?

Hi Alex - yeah - I carry it up with me - nothing really to burn up high (or down low tbh) well not in scotland anyways :) Makes the pack a bit heavier though

@@ScotlandsMountains but, it did add a bit of ambience to it, my photos of loch Lomond looking towards Balloch has the same.
Please Murray keep up the good work.
