I moved to Germany a while ago, from Scotland. If there is one single thing I miss, it is the Highlands and the availability to camp, where you want. I can assure you folks, it is a luxury. South of the border in England and in many countries in Europe, people often say, 'so jealous'. No, you can't simply put up a tent where you want in Germany, you have to use a camping ground. Often, no, gas stoves are not permitted. etc, etc. So, enjoy it, what you have. Tell the occasional numptie not to camp in the middle of a farmer's field, take their crap home with them, ensure respect is maintained, and we can keep that luxury item of wild camping. As for Murray, the Scottish Tourist Board should be paying him, for what he has done for Scotland - he has gone up and out his way to show what a great wee country Scotland is.
Thanks Peter, absolutely , was a grand place and location for a last hooray (even though I didn't realise it at the time!!) Take care , stay safe and thanks for watching ATB Murray
I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful video from start to finish. Many thanks for taking us on the adventure with you, and the glorious scenes and atmosphere you captured; it was a perfect tonic for the current crisis and beats any conventional television on offer, hands down. Many thanks, David.
I keep meaning to get the tents up in the garden to re proof them and treat them with some permetherin - maybe this weekend :) Take care , stay safe and thanks for watching ATB Murray
Another cracking video Murray - up my favourite hill too 😉 Excellent timelapse and photography! I think we're all looking forward to getting this craziness behind us and getting out there again. What a wonderful film! I had just been given the link by a pal via WhatsApp - he said "grab a brew, and relax for 20 mins", and you know what? I did just that. Reminds me of my wild camps in the Lakes 20+ years ago, and always in Winter too. I was stood at the bottom of BEM in mid-Feb with some photography friends before all this madness kicked off, so it was great to also see it, snow-capped from a different angle. Nicely edited, nicely composed - now Subscribed! Great stuff!
Thanks MB - hope you enjoyed the video and your brew and thanks or the sub - hope you enjoy some of the vlogs. Glencoe is a grand area for sure , especially when there is a wee bit of snow hanging about :) Take care , stay safe and thanks for watching ATB Murray

That's a bittersweet wild camp Murray, some nice photography and I loved the night-lapse. The no trace fire is an excellent idea, do you just bring a bit of kindling? Hopefully we're back out sooner rather than later. Take care mate. Cheers Robin
Cheers Robin - it was a cracking wild camp , Shame it was the last one for a while :( I take one of those logs and chop it in half and it fits in the small stove well and keep me warm for an hour or two - totally burns out leaving just dust in the morning - so nothing left behind 👍 let’s hope the hills open again soon ! Take care and stay safe and thanks for watching ATB Murray
Awesome and very inspiring as ever, Murray. I’ve loved watching all your visits to Ben Crulaiste. Hopefully won’t be too long before we’re free again. Stay safe.

Thank you taking me out for another trip to my beloved Scotish mountains. I'm afraid not being able to make it to Scotland or even the UK this year. The more I appreciate to follow you in your videos. A really enrichment in daily life. By the way, we you use your firesteel, i would recommend to use your left thump as some kind of pillar for the striker handle. Push the handle with your right thump. so you will put much more pressure on it and ignition is almost garanteed. #StaySafe
Some of these places you go to are fantastic Murray. The views and atmosphere is always great throughout your films. I sometimes watch your videos because I know at some point you'll have the beautiful piano music on. I'm actually looking through some of your films the now specifically looking for spots for my future wild camps once lockdown is over. I think your top 10 camps will come in use. Thanks for sharing and I hope we will all be back out on the hills ASAP. ATB Gaz.
As a last wildcamp before lockdown, it was a beauty. Thank you for sharing it with us. When this is all over the roads to the hills are going to be clogged, we will need to pick our locations carefully if we are seeking solitude. Stay safe, stay well.
you are absolutely right Malcom, I actually don't think I will head out for a few weeks after the lock down is announced due o this - or pick areas I know will be quiet away from the Munros and Corbetts :) Heres hoping hat day come soon thoug Thanks for watching and stay safe ATB Murray
What an amazing little channel I've found here, just did my first ever munro at Ben Vorlich ( Loch Lomond) and loved every second of it! Think I've caught the hiking bug.
Love the video, your information, thoughts and glorious photos. This one has the addition of also being somewhat sad given the times we live in. Yet it is also uplifting as a reminder of what is precious and what we shall be able to do again sometime in the future. Look forward to viewing your next adventure.

I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful video from start to finish. Many thanks for taking us on the adventure with you, and the glorious scenes and atmosphere you captured; it was a perfect tonic for the current crisis and beats any conventional television on offer, hands down. Many thanks, David.
Thank you David - very much appreciated

Another cracking video Murray - up my favourite hill too 😉 Excellent timelapse and photography! I think we're all looking forward to getting this craziness behind us and getting out there again. I think I'll need to start organising another trip over - maybe next year, ha ha! I'm sure the mountains will still be there eh 😊 Take care and stay safe!
Thanks Brian - how are things down under - my sister lives in Sydney and I believe some of the beaches are re opening at times?

Scotland's Mountains - yes, the curve is becoming very flat here. I think the early action helped a lot so the numbers of daily new cases are almost single digits now. Whew! So yes, they are very slowly starting to ease the restrictions etc. Bring it on eh 👍 ATB
Fantastic video loved the atmosphere and the music great pillow and mattress set up thanks for sharing

Another great video Murray and quite poignant in view of what is happening now. Can’t wait to get out on a wild camp myself or even just a walk in the mountains! 👍

Glencoe is a grand area for sure , especially when there is a wee bit of snow hanging about :)

That's a bittersweet wild camp Murray, some nice photography and I loved the night-lapse. The no trace fire is an excellent idea, do you just bring a bit of kindling?
Hopefully we're back out sooner rather than later. Take care mate.
Cheers
Robin
Cheers Robin - it was a cracking wild camp , Shame it was the last one for a while :( I take one of those logs and chop it in half and it fits in the small stove well and keep me warm for an hour or two - totally burns out leaving just dust in the morning - so nothing left behind 👍 let’s hope the hills open again soon !

Thanks Thomas - I'll try and remember that tip when I get back out wild camping again :)

I love Scotland ❤️
Bravo! Great video!

Stay safe, stay well.
you are absolutely right Malcom, I actually don't think I will head out for a few weeks after the lock down is announced due o this - or pick areas I know will be quiet away from the Munros and Corbetts :)
Heres hoping hat day come soon thoug

There's something quite funny about these times of isolation in that so many of us are longing to get out & enjoy more erm..... well isolation 😂
What an amazing little channel I've found here, just did my first ever munro at Ben Vorlich ( Loch Lomond) and loved every second of it! Think I've caught the hiking bug.
Ha, that was my first Munro back in 1985.
Fantastic location and video 🙂👍

Love the video, your information, thoughts and glorious photos. This one has the addition of also being somewhat sad given the times we live in. Yet it is also uplifting as a reminder of what is precious and what we shall be able to do again sometime in the future. Look forward to viewing your next adventure.
Thanks Charles - the mountains will be waiting for us on their opening :)

Stunning camp Murray , I loved the photography especially the stars over the mountains .. your camera must be wide open fstop and high iso to capture night video footage . You may not have had the sunrise you were hoping for but it was still beautiful. Let’s hope the hills aren’t too busy when we get the green light . Stay safe atb Dave
Thanks Dave - I may stay in or go somewhere not so popular when the hills reopen as they will be bursting at the seems :)
