Why is this not National network TV? I could imagine several countries (and their expats watching),fantastic (again) and looking forward to the next one, well done Gerry and Murray.
Thanks Edward - hope you enjoyed it - if it was shown in other countries - subtitles may be required ;)lol
Take care and thanks for watching

The production values on this channel are off the charts. Fantastic stuff. I've walked a lot in England and Wales, but I've got to spend more time in Scotland. Wonderful!
Nice one mate and a great area to visit. Really enjoy exploring the side of Scotland. Atb
Cheers Ray - really enjoyed your aurora vid tonight - great stuff - catch up soon

Shame on me 😯 ... why this is the first time i have seen this mountain or even heard it's name, regardless of this you managed to sell it to me, added for sure to my bucket list, fabulous work again also. 👌
Out of this world thank you so much. So many brilliant views it’s just cleared my head of the reality TV my missus watches ( she has the remote)!
What everyone else said, but also it is nice to see your great outdoor partnership. Sharing those experiences as a team just makes it look extra special.
I always look forward to a new video on the channel, I know the quality of it, from production, content, music etc is going to be first class and I've never been disapointed!
Thank you - hope you enjoyed the adventure :)

I could swear I heard a Red Deer roaring at your first stop going up.....aha I did hear it. Well done. Beautiful...
Thoroughly enjoyed following you, beautiful climb!
Murray that was just stunning. Again! Thanks as always for sharing. Would have loved to have seen the photo of your dad then the one of you but another day another adventure. Stay safe.
Thanks Paul , I think I'll keep the photo from the next time we go to Suilven as we will definitely be back for sure :)

Just discovered your video's, and i am thoroughly enjoying them. They bring back so many memories of hikes and expeditions during my time in the Boys Brigade, and my attempt at my gold D of E award.....unfortunately not completed as foiled by a boot stuck in a rabbit hole on Lairig Ghru, fall, and torn cruciate ligaments left knee. Your videos have inspired me to get back into the hills. Thank you.
Welcome to the channel - hope you enjoy the videos over here 🙏👍👍
Damn, that opening sequence had me wanting to jump into the TV and be transported there. Absolutely stunning. 👍🤙
@Scotland's Mountains - I've just watched a 2017 film called "Edie" in which Sheila Hancock plays an 83 year old widow wanting to climb Suilven. A wonderful film which must have used that very bothy in some of it's shots when she stayed overnight out of necessity. It just caught my eye since I've cycled from Garve to Scourie and beyond to Thurso via the north coast and this and the film brought back so many happy memories of how "lonely" and peaceful that north west corner of Scotland can be......the silence is deafening (apart from, in the day, there being the odd RAF Buccaneer flying about. As always thanks for these videos and your enthusiasm. 👍
It’s a great film - really enjoy watching Edie 👍👍
The videos produced are of a very high quality, i always look forward to the next video. Keep up the fantastic content, you show the world what a beautiful place scotland is. My ancestors (The Hamililton clan, Fathers side!) would agree Scotland is a land steeped in history , mystery and beauty.
Absolutely stunning footage of Scotland's beautiful mountains 👍
Lovely the Highlands Scotland. I miss my first home in the UK.
Hi Murray an hi to Gerry too as always your content is impeccable ty so much for letting us share your adventures an it has also gave me a few ideas for walks for me an the missus to try as well stay safe mate
This video was absolutely magical, seeing the weather with the fall golden sun casting that beautiful glow on everything and everyone was spectacular !
Think I love this mountain ....but ill never conquer it now 😢 The walk in looked lovejy so maybe when i reccover !! That pie ...too .what. day 😊
Fantastic Murray. Regards
Good Morning.
Thank you very much for showing us the breathtaking beauty of Scotland. I love her... Greetings from Algeciras (Spain)
Wonderful just wonderful. What great mountains we have 😊
My new favourite 😍 youtube channel!✨ Catching up on all the videos. Many hills, mountains, and bothies I have seen. So Lovely to come across people with the same passion for our beautiful country ❤
Climbed Suliven in Sept 21, had waited 18 months after planning in early Mar 20. Absolutely well worth the wait, stunning views and a beautiful sunny day. Great to see this today 👍🏻👍🏻
Ah one of my favourites, glad you enjoyed it despite the mist. A special place for me. Placed a rock on the cairn for my nan passing a couple of years ago. Lovely lovely place.
Quality yet again. I wish I could stand in the place of my dad. You have to recreate that picture now.
Well done Murray and Gerry. I camped on Caisteal Liath during a climb of Suilven, definitely Scotland's finest mountain. That wall is a 'destitution wall', built by starving Highlanders about 1840/50 in return for food. When you look at the size of those stones, how did they get them to the top of one of Scotland's most remote mountains? The path is much improved recently but the climb up the Bealach Mor is hard going. Regards
Thanks for that I was just wondering date etc about the wall👍
Nice one Murray. Brings back memories of a few years ago. Slept at the bothy in the room you were in on the bench next to fireplace. Luxury. It rained heavy with thunder through the night and if its any consolation after the slog up Suilven we had strong winds and rain. So turned back from the wall. ATB.
This is a fab stretch of the west coast of Scotland. The mountains are phenomenal and awesome. We climbed Quinag using our ha nds and feet to ascend and coming down a fifth part of our anatomy was put to use! Great fun. Saw buzzards and golden eagle pair in flight. Thanks for sharing.
Quinag is a fabulous mountain too - some of the best scenery in Scotland up here :)

I hope you noticed my expert pointing on the inside walls in the main room. I did the last MBA work party before COVID hit then did Suilven on a much better day for views. You definitely need to go back :)
Super capture of a stunning location. Top vlog Murray.
Thank you for sharing this journey Murray, once again a delight to watch and enjoy your adventures. I agree with another comment, this content should be on national/international TV. TO see such beauty of Scotland to the world be amazing. The adventure travel industry in Scotland could pay you to do this and you could give up your day job. Thanks again.
Amazing mountain. Excellent video
On my list for Spring. Been years since I was up there. Great video 😀
I thought this was the best video you have made so far and I've watched a lot of them! Really enjoyed it, just pure class! :)
love wednesdays. another beautiful video! thanks for taking me along.
Great video . . . I've been fortunate to have climbed all the mountains in the area several times. I was first on Suilven in 1967, again in 1979 and most recently in 2019 . . . wonderful mountain. Sorry to be a pedant but, with my family coming from Sutherland, strictly speaking, Cul Mor, Cul Beag, Stac Pollaidh and Ben More Coigach are in Coigach, not Assynt.
Another great adventure, love that part of the world
Another great video Murray, we are so lucky to be able to do the walk from our front door. Maybe try March next time, the weather can be great and it's usually still really quiet.
“We were going to Kayak in but there was an outbreak of common sense. “ :-) That’s a great expression that I’m definitely going to use! Terrific video!
Great video Murray takes me back to this June when we were up there at the bothy and Suilven .Unfortunately bad weather and high winds kept us from summit . Did visit Lochinver larder fab steak n ale pie . 🥧 😋
Beautiful, I've been waiting for that one. Suilven is one of my favourite mountains, done it twice now and had good views, disappointing you didn't get views. Thanks for your videos, they are all so professional.
Well, that hit the spot. Another great dose of adventure and wilderness beauty . Thanks. Absolutely superb!
Epic video as usual Murray. Me and Eddie went up a few years ago. Hell of a walk in. Is it still boggy? The drone footage was superb 👌 I researched the wall it seems the landowner made his workers build it just to keep them busy during slack times? Whether that’s true or not. 🤷♂️ what a slave driver 😂 yeah I need to go back and camp up there. Hopefully on a clear day too. Hope you get back for the views. They’re staggering. Cheers for this trip. Atb. 👍
Drove up to Assynt 2 years ago with my boy. Without doubt the most beautiful area we've ever been and Suilven is the jewel in the crown ⛰👍🏻
Its a special area for sure - some of the best mountains in Scotland up there -what they lack in height they make up for in grandeur :)

Hi, great hike☺
Great. Been waiting for a good Suilven one for a while.
Very enjoyable and what a wonderful mountain.
Glad that you enjoyed the fireplace which I put in in 2013. There are plans for alterations which should make the bothy warmer
I literally just put my headphones away to watch Emmerdale with the missus and the notification drops for this. Muzza 1 Emmerdale 0. 😂
Fine bothy that one isn't it, you haven't vlogged many bothies before have you? You'll definitely need to go back for the view. 🌥
One up on Emmerdale - superb ;) First time staying a Bothy for me - if I was guaranteed solitude I may stay more often , usually take the tent but TBH really enjoyed the bothy - except for the loud mouse ;)lol

@@ScotlandsMountains I thought it might of been your first bothy trip. The mice make me a bit paranoid. Would be a good laugh getting yourself, Ray, Kev and I around the bothy fire with a dram. 😁
There was an outbreak of common sense……excellent line Gerry..
I made it to Ben Nevis, was bloody hard. But done.
Man, I don't know how old your father is, but I did notice a man would have to hustle and not dilly-dally to keep up with him, he wasn't messing around! You could tell he was doing something he enjoyed. When you get old and aren't as mobile as you once were, think of all the wonderful memories you will have! Of you and your father, and of Scotland! Wow, I'm big on family, and blood, and I can see you're a very lucky man.
Brilliant. The locations, the personalities, the production, everything. I'm so glad I found this most excellent channel.
Thanks Tom - welcome to the channel - hope you enjoy some of the content over here :)

Glorious. I've made a mental note that if I ever stay in a bothie I'm packing earplugs 😆🐁
Fantastic, what mind-blowing scenery and I'm loving both of your broad accents.
Great video Murray. Nice to see Gerry again too. Good idea about taking a photo where your father took one. Hopefully the weather will cooperate next time.
Well done guys , it was nice on the way up, pity you lost the views at the top but like you say it gives you an excuse to go back . That pie looked good lol ..Top stuff Murray ...cheers Stevie
Another great adventure, love the banter with Gerry. Definitely on my bucket list, like you I want to follow in my father’s footsteps. Looking forward to part 2 of your adventure
Love this mate . You stuff is brilliant . Out of curiosity do you have any hairs left on your fingers ? That gas burner gets them every time 😂
none left - everytime !! need to get a longer lighter or invest in a jetboil with an inbuilt igniter lol ;)

D'ya know, all the spectacular views, all the drone footage and all that Scottish loveliness, and what do I concentrate on? The Haggis, Neeps and Tatties pie! Wow! What a stroke of genius!
Ah, Assynt!... Shame you didn't get the view, Murray but as you say, you can go back. I was surprised to hear you'd never been up there before, by the way - I had you down as a Munro / Corbett compleater!
I was B&B'ing in Lochinver and walked in and out to Suilven in the day, up to the bealach from the north via Glencanisp Lodge and back down round Fionn Loch. That was a very, very long day. The path up I remember was very poor, very loose and slippery - looks a bit better now. It was high summer and was possibly the worst day for midgies that I ever had on the hills - I remember being totally knackered on the route out along the beautiful R Kirkaig, but I couldn't pause for a moment as they instantly descended... It was superb day, though, that sticks in my memory.
This would have been late 80s or early 90s, I think, not long after the pie shop opened and I dined there in fine style most evenings. I'm delighted to see they are still going strong! Happy memories, and thanks for the vid!
Images bring beauty to life, your content amplifies the perfection that is Scotland in your cinematography.
A planned trip is rapidly turning into looking for Highland properties for sale.
Thank you for bringing this for us to experience with you, stunning!
Excellent video Murray!! What make are Gerrys pants? I want them!!!
Once shared this bothy with a couple who pitched their tent in the mai room:-) it was fine we took a small room with fire place
Absolutely fantastic video, Suilven is still on my "one-day" list, Murray- you must walk miles extra to get all these great shots, once again many thanks for sharing.ATB
a few extra miles are done going back and forward to get the camera !!lol dont mind it too much when the landscapes are as spectacular as this ;)

I keep saying one day,as I ride past on two wheels but you’ve whet the appetite Murray. Again quality video and i enjoy your jaunts with Gerry.
Silly question but why did someone go to the trouble to build a magnificent wall on the mountain? Super film, thanks.
Assynt truely is a Shangri-La and once again you document your adventure there superbly 👍👍 How often do we climb mountains in the clag only for them to clear once down - still it’s an excuse to go back 👍 Stay safe and look forward to see where you and Gerry went next.
Thanks Murray. I'm always glad to see your video pop up. What's not to love about the peaks of Assynt. Shame you didnt manage the photo you wanted, but theres always another day. Love your banter with Gerry. Take care and happy adventuring Alioban xx
Thanks Alioban, its was a fine adventure and I am sure we will have another fine adventure when we return to Suilven as we need to experience those summit views at some point :)

Another superb watch Murray. Good memories of me & Robin's trip there with a guid nicht in the bothy 👍
A fantastic video for a cold wet Wednesday night in front of the fire with a glass of whiskey (Irish of course). How high up the mountain was that wall ? As Para Handy would say Scotlands hardy sons built that . Thanks for sharing
Thanks Dessie - its a fine mountain and the wall is a well know and strange feature as it doesn't extend down the mountain (would be hard too as the slopes are too steep!!lol) Suilven is a special mountain in a special area :)

@@ScotlandsMountains Hi Murray. I've been told that the wall was a 'clearances' job. Built for no other purpose than to keep some poor, displaced folk busy and for which they were paid hee-haw 😡
well done Murry and Gerry great video once again pity about the views at the top the walk is on my bucket list thanks again
Great video, but one thing has me curious. Why do you have the white letter "R" on the side on your face?
My favourite mountain one day hopefully get the chance to seat for real ! Thanks for another great trip
That was a cracking vlog. The pie was the best bit tho ;-) atb gordon
Puzzled why you have a small letter 'R' on your face?
Never stayed in a bothy ....but did in a bunkhouse!
Steaming Boots at their very best... well done Murray and Gerry.
Surely deserves a wider audience.
Thanks for taking the effort to film and of course edit such a great video.
Every good son should try and emulate his dad and hopefully fill his boots. Well done.
My heart goes out to you and Jerry shame on the weather all the best for next time
Superb as always Murray. 👌 shame u never got the views but still a great experience in the bothy. Drone footage is outstanding 👍
Thanks Graham - Twas a fun trip :) can’t wait to go back and get those summit views from the top of Suilven (hopefully next time :)
That was just wonderful...I'm back and it's going to take a wee while to catch up on all your ''days out''...I certainly have missed them...and now looking forward to the next days adventure...😁🧗♂️

nice one, I have yet to venture up Suilvan and now on the radar for next year. A great video and shame about the summit views but that his life sometimes on the scottish hills. A grand excuse to come back again for sure

Another wonderful video Murray. It reminded me how long it is since I stayed in a bothy, 1980s, and that I still haven't done Suilven, but one day eh!
Thanks, really enjoy your jaunts. Beautifully filmed, god knows how much extra you walk. As for cloud, you've got to try the Himalaya, Everset hiding from Gokyo Ri. That would fill your camera.
Suilven and stac...when i first rode motorcycle in the assynt area back in 2002 my jaw literally dropped thankfully fullface helmet kept it together🤣it seemed are we really still in theUK....awsome ..shame weather was a tad off...
Great video of you both, love the Assynt mountains, was a magical day when we climbed Suilven in May 2019, shame you didnt get the photo at the wall. Lochinver pie shop 🤗
Ive been all over the world but there is no place like the Highlands of Scotland for me !
Couldnt agree more David :) nothing beats the Scottish Mountains (when you can see them 😂)

Breathtaking views Murray! Even though you didn't have it clear for the summit the views from halfway up were beautiful enough on their own. I hope you get a good clear day next time, and I'm adding this one to my list too. Assynt is about 3.5 hours' drive from the place I'm moving to in two weeks in Aberdeenshire, so not too bad!
Excellent as usual, cheers Murray looking forward to your next👍🏻
All being well I’m on my way upto the Cairngorms in just over a week , hopefully a couple of wildcamps sin the white stuff 🙏🙏…. This is just the tonic👍🏻
Thanks again
