- Beinn Lutharn Mhor & Carn an Righ - I headed up a lonely glen to find some solitude to wild camp at a remote mountain loch , nestled among some wild and remote feeling landscapes and mountains in the eastern highlands. From the wild camping base camp I headed off for some mountain hiking adventures over the two days....

An idyllic place to pitch up Murray. It must have felt like being the first visitor since the last ice age carved and gouged it's imprint in the earth, ten thousands of years ago. Pristine, unspoiled by the careless presence of man. Remote harsh and desolate of aspect, softened only where the clouds allow the sun to touch. Achingly beautiful, it draws me in and stirs memories of earlier times when I too roamed my wanderings in empty places. Thankfully there are you and others who take the trouble to document it in video form for we whom circumstance restrains, to re-visit through your eyes. Your videos are deeply appreciated, so, many and sincere thanks are your due. I look forward to enjoying many more, and may you continue to enjoy good health to do what you do so well.
I’m a Glaswegian but never been back to Scotland for going on 20 years now. I really enjoy listening to your dialect……and not to mention the absolutely incredible filming, must be a lot of effort put into creating tour videos, it’s really appreciated
Clear clean Sky and greate water your mountains greate. Locks better than mount hope.
One of those scenes you never want to end, well done Murray, well done.
The luxury of the solitude of a self, gifted alone
under the stars so cold and the cowering wind,
with the flickering fire and no glare in the dark
you are gifted the Wealth of a soul destined for home.
Your best yet young man, keep climbing X
You missed out on the joy of flying through that puddle on your bike with your legs in the air shouting Geronimo at the top of your voice. Or is that just me?
It didn’t make the cut 😂
Yes, that’s just you.lol
Yes that’s Judy you.
@@nadinehope5568 It might be tbf. Haha
Wow , the animals up there chatted away when you arrived, what an awesomely beautiful place to camp, I’m glad you got yoursel out the wind . Alaya. Old 🦉 Owl uk.
«enjoyin’ ma peanuts ‘n ma whisky» … class 🤗🥃😀
That was one neat time lapse shot of the night sky turning into morning.
Wow Murray. A proper remote feeling to that one 😎👍
Twas lovely getting away from it all - felt nice a remote for sure up here :) much fun
Thanks Murray, fantastic video and in response to your question at 31.40......."Does it get any better than this".....I think not. This route is now on my Scottish trip list for the future. Keep your wonderful videos rolling in.
Great content as usual Murray, love the longer adventures,,its great that you can leave your bike and its still there when you get back, stay safe Jim
Love your vids mate. Having breathing problems, can’t get up. But it’s good to watch these vids. Keep them coming.
Beautiful. I can just smell that Scottish air! :) x
Great spot for a wild camp..fab views and great photography as usual....Thankyou 😊
I think everyone need solitude from time to time , to gather your thoughts.
And what a beautiful place to go .
What a great intro with the fire going and then the bike ride through the grand views of Scotland.
No people around..,great.
Really enjoyable ..thanks Murray.
Thanks Susan - it was a fine camp getting away from it all :)
Take care and thanks for watching
Murray
After breaking the solitude with your camera and “choice words”(I picture John Cleese in Fawlty Towers) a wee dram was definitely in order. Thanks for another great video Murray.
Another great adventure taking in 3 Scottish Munro's. You don't do anything by Half's. Liked your timelapse of the stars.
Oh l loved that Murray. Your info and filmimg/Photography is great. As always looking forward to the next. Take care xx
Absolutely loved that. The location, and the slow enjoyment of the area. ....And that weather!!
You're never alone in nature..⛺
The muppet who put a thumbs down should get a life, your video as usual was excellent so thumbs up from me! I live on the south coast but go the the Highlands at least once a year (750 miles and 750 miles back by car) and I love it.
Thanks J H , hope you get back up soon 👍

Lonely Loch nan Euan a friends Grandfather wrote this piping tune after visiting this Loch . Great memories of my trip into those hills a good few years ago now . It truly is a fine spot . I’ve a few photos of myself and some friends on that camping spot . Fantastic video as usual thanks .
John McNab - I met a father and daughter at Loch Nan Euan many years ago . I was descending a nearby mountain to the ( very surprising ) sound of bagpipes and met the lady first who explained her father visited this loch yearly to play a tune there on his bagpipes for his deceased friend. It's something I will never forget.
Excellent! There so much offered in wild hill camping. Always a good idea to set up a base camp to hit surrounding hills. Very satisfying.
Not long till you get your Oscar, Murray.
My home territory. Memories of negotiating the old Devil's Elbow in my dad's clapped out Austin van when I was a kid many moons ago.
Thanks fo commenting Beverley - keep watching this space as a video is coming actually called - hiking around the devils elbow :) we parked. It far from that very spot last weeks and hiked round the hills to the east of the devils elbow 👍

@@ScotlandsMountains Thanks for that. I shall look forward to it!
What a trip!! Amazing landscapes and perfect weather, very jealous of the whisky by the camp fire, thanks for sharing your new memories! ATB
Simply lovely video. If you think of walking something different I know a man who's name is Jim Hawkins. He is walking around the UK and is now walking in the Stranraer area going north with final destination
John O Groats. Then he is finished. Maybe you would like to walk with him for a few days along the west Scotland coast. Just an idea. If you are on RUclips and write down Jim Hawkins coastal path you can find him. This is by no means a must if course. I love your video's, I love Scotland so keep climbing. 👍
Another great adventure.
Good Morning from New Zealand, thanks for your Great Wild Camp Video Thanks for sharing , Have a great week
Thank you for some insights into this area and I have checked it out on the OS maps. Someday maybee.
Kind regards.
👍⛺🌄
Glad I saved this one to watch on the "big telly". Such a well put together video and a stunning trip. Certainly an area I look forward to exploring more of.
Hope you enjoyed it :)
"7:00 hrs..." That's one of my favourite times when wild camping. You unzip the tent for the first time to see what kind of a day you've got. You got a great one this time! Thanks for sharing this with us. I always enjoy your videos, and it's cheaper than therapy! ;-)
This has been one of my favourites of yours Murray. Time well spent watching. Thanks dude.
Inspiration for some future adventues. Your films emphasise my appreciation of the Scottish hills 🥰
Nice one Murray, you simply cannot beat the feeling of the sun on your face as it rises above the mountains, magic! 😊
If ever one man is living his dream then surely Murray is that man ⛰️.. absolutely brilliant vlog as always, top class 🏕️
Another great vid. Sorry about the camera.
You smashed it again Murray, and I don't mean the camera lol, that was a freaking awesome vlog of your adventure, Thanks for sharing it, loved it. Well done, stay safe & ATB.
I so love your videos, they really engage me in a most beautiful part of the world and liofestyle; a real escape from daily life.. thank you ever so much.
I really love your videos! Tom Weir would have loved you also!
...and, it looks like your bike had a couple babies overnight! 🤣🤣🤣
There were indeed a couple of mountain bikes appeared when I got down the next day - its a good choice for these mountains as it will save a wee bit of time - especially on the way back down the glen :)

Most enjoyable again Murray, it must have been a wrench to leave that spot by the Loch. Great views of the Cairngorms
Murray you are the king of the mountains! cracking vlog, powered by scotch eggs.!
A good scotch egg gets me to the summit :)
What a beautifully put together video...it had it all...I think the birds were Moor Hens...was I imagining it, but did I hear sheep?...don't seem to recall seeing any...fantastic time lapse camera work viewing the stars until morning...thank you Murray atb until the next time.
So good. Thanks for sharing, Murray. 👍🙂🏴
I can only imagine the peace of this adventure. I had the pleasure of touring Tomatin several years ago and I agree I would highly recommend it. Thank you for taking us along on this adventure! Cheers!
It was indeed nice and peaceful :) live a wee Tomatin 👌
Was there last weekend, camped next to the outfall from the loch, great place and another cracking video 👍
Nice. Congrats on catching such a beautiful night sky.
My knowledge of the local fauna sounds is miserable. But there is a bird (might be the same that's saluting you at 6.00, just different call) that once just got us. Far North. Awe inspiring space. Not another human soul. The just after sunset silence that gets your heart breathing. Only a murmur of a stream and a couple of birds calling to each other. We are sitting by the tents and just about neighing like horses. Because there is one of those guys flying circles around and in that twilight silence he (?) sounds exactly like somebody is having a good time on an old spring mattress.
🤣🤣🤣
Nice one Murray. Sore one with the camera 😬 Camped there a few years ago. A lovely wee place. Did Carn an Righ & Tulaichean the next day in foul weather. I'll go back for a visit as I've still to do Beinn Lutharn Mhor...And the Top, Bheag of course 😉
Cracking video Murray. Nice spot 👍. Do you have shares in Scotch eggs? 🤣
Nothing beats a good scotch Egg - perfect On outdoors adventure 👌😂
Do you ever feel lonely when on trips like this? Thanks for the video, awesome views

I enjoyed this very much, Murray! It does have that remote feel to it. Just wow! What a place to enjoy solitude. Hill Of The King seems fitting, it was like your own kingdom. Take care always! Mari
Thanks Mari- it was a fine location - lovely and remote - a good get away 👍
Fantastic Murray, just fantastic. The time lapse, the solitude, all in all just made me want to pick up my rucksack and go do the same. Thank you for sharing, superb. As always stay safe and ATB
Greate music to sleep well.
Amazing time lapse of night turning to day! 😍
One day you're going to be walking back down and someone's going to be going up passed you on your bike, lol.

Fantastic video Murray, what a stunning location. Thanks for sharing your adventure! 😀⛰🥾🏴
Loved this video! The campfire looked amazing in the opening shot. What a wild and remote place. Wonderful!😊👍

Absolutely stunning!👏👏👏
That was so relaxing to watch! Thank you for letting us accompany you on such a pleasant trip. If ever the environment could make up for the mishap with the camera screen, I think it certainly did here. I hope you managed to get that repaired though...
I was ready for that fire the second you pitched your tent! The water is so clear, just amazing! I would love to learn about the history of this area. Gorgeous night sky there, just wow!
Some really interesting history across the highlands for sure - wish I knew more too TBh :)

Carn an Righ has two summits.I am a native of Perth and have passed that way.
What a nice video and we’ll narrated
I always like the camping videos. The night sky time lapse is beautiful.
The reflection of your fire on the stones gave the illusion of one huge campfire!
Lots of exercise , you must have slept well!
Take care until the next video 🇨🇦 ❤️
Thanks Sue, I would've slept well but it was sooo cold over night!! Glad I had the fire (and whisky) to keep me warm earlier in the evening :)

@@ScotlandsMountains Happened to me a few weeks ago! My own fault. An expensive repair and not something I want to repeat!
Murray I'm "jealous", :-(
Great beautiful video it has an inviting character. Have already been up to pack my things and am leaving for Scotland NOW. Great to see nature while you still can. We humans have no alternative but just this planet and we must continue to use it responsibly. The way you tell in your Scottish accent is reassuring and enjoy the video in this flat little country where I am. Thanks for your video and on to the next one.
