Of all the instructional vids on sewing a button, this is by far the best. Momma Ana shows us how to tie a knot on the double-threaded needle-a step glossed over on other videos. It seems simple but an instructional video can't assume that we know how to do even the most basic steps. Also, I like the other step of looping back around the needle on the back side of the fabric at the end of the lesson. Thanks Momma Ana!
I'm 51 years old, and have NEVER learned how to sew on a button!!...Until NOW. Great job with the video! Very easy to follow and understand. THANK YOU FOR SHARING MY DEAR!! 🌹
This is an excellent tutorial for sewing on a button. It clearly shows all the steps necessary and has excellent explanations. Thank you for making this vid!
Thank you so much for making this video! :) It's helping me sew buttons on little stuffed animals/plushies that I'm making! My grandmother used to help me sew button eyes on stuffed animals, but she passed away a few years ago and now I must learn to do it myself~
I watched two videos before yours and yours was the best because you detailed even the simplest procedure (making the first knot, going around 3 times to make the shank etc.). The way clothing is made these days we have to be able to sew. Thank you so much!!
I think I love you! Haha, I wish I had someone like you growing up to teach these things. But it's kind of fun taking the initiative and learning all these things that I was never taught as a boy.
i know how to sew on a button. My mom taught me exactly this way when I was little. I hate sewing! it looks so easy but I always get a snag, usually right off the bat. i get the job done but don’t look at the back, there are loops all over. I’m going to go try again. Thanks, it was so pleasant to watch.
Thank you for the easy tutorial. I just sewed two new buttons onto my union thermals that had popped off, and then added some tear mender to the tops of all the buttons to help make them stay. The two buttons I added per these instructions were looking good and durable, but I was adding the fabric mender to the others for increased strength, so I figured I'd give a dab to all of them.
Thank you SO, so much... This was perfect! Quite frankly, I can hardly remember the last time I felt more frustration trying to find a good video. EVERY other button sewing video I found was completely ridiculous; missing adequate directions/descriptions, long and drawn out, or just plain incomplete and wrong. Yours was the best by far!! Thanks again... I can wear my fav jersey again!!
Thanks Momma Ana for this easy tutorial on sewing buttons, saving my favorite pair of shorts and a shirt with two buttons popped off! Uprated and faved. :)
Thank you for this video! other videos seem to add steps that make no sense and waste time and completely over complicate the task. you make it so simple! although Im sure these things are much easier for you than someone like me ;^)
Wow all this time I never knew. Thank you I have a question I just learnt about stitching and I was shown the trad is not even. Meaning 1 long 1 short and the knot on longer thread but here you do even thread is that just for button?
Mama is so happy that your blue dress live on in your wardrobe! Let her know what else you would like to learn.... she has many tips up her sleeves! Go to our website to email us.
Thank you - this was just great and it's good that you considered clarity and camera angles. I get so frustrated when someone's showing me the 'tricky bit' and the fingers and needles go out of shot! I think you used a 'double thread' (not sure of the technical term, it's when you're threading the needle and each length of the thread going either side of the needle is of equal size - _then_ you knot it. So it's just not one length of thread doing the work ultimately - it's two. That's the technique you used isn't it? Anyway, thank you.

Hands down this is the BEST tutorial on sewing a button! Thanks :)

A simple, quick, and clear how-to. Thank you.
