You are a life saver! It's a few weeks until my 6 month anniversary and I want to make my girlfriend a throw pillow out of a band tee, but I had little to no idea how to stitch one. Now I know! Thank you!
That's an awesome idea! I've saved all me and my fiancé's old shirts that we don't wear anymore (because of holes) and don't want to throw out. You've given me the awesome idea of making them into throw pillows for our couch 😁
Thank you for showing how to secure the beginning stitch and the end. My ladder stitches keep popping back open, following other tutorials. You are the only one I have seen that showed this. I really appreciate it.
Thankyou sooo much you’re a life saver. I was really struggling with tightening a dress and after watching and learning the stitch I was so impressed by how I was able to adjust my dress to fit me so well
THANK YOU! I have been trying to figure this stitch out for forever, and you explained it in a beautiful, easy-to-understand way. For the first time ever, with the help of this video, I made a perfect ladder stitch!
Making stuffed animals with my kids as a project with zero sewing experience. Thank you for making a nice, simple video about this, it was super helpful. :)
Thank you for such a clear video. Another leftie here. Really makes a difference for a total beginner to see something being done in the same direction you will be going in yourself.
This was really helpful, thank you! I’ve always had the worst time with this stitch for some reason, but I think I might actually be able to make it work now. Fingers crossed, anyway.
@@timothyamick4819 I'm predominantly left but do somethings right handed as well. Like using scissors, only with my right which I find really weird actually. Lol. If I was more disciplined about it I'd probably be better at writing with my right hand too but I really don't care that much. My handwriting sucks with my left too. Sewing however is really hard to learn from a right handed person. I know because my grandma was right handed and tried her best to teach me but it was still difficult to understand from the right sided perspective.
This explanation is very easy to understand. Thank you, and I was wondering if I may imbed this video on my website, giving you credit and offering a link to your blog/website?
Thank you for this amazing beginner friendly tutorial. I'm learning to sew starting TODAY, just googled how to properly put the thread on the needle an hour ago, and this video was still understandable to me. Other tutorials were confusing because I just started and all, but this one was perfect. Thank you for mentioning the seam allowance, that was my biggest hurdle. Working on a piece of scrap fabric to practice, I was trying to sew without a seam allowance! Obviously that didn't work. But after this video I got it, and while my work is obviously still messy it worked!! I am so happy right now.
The best one so far!! I never actually touched a niddle before (when I write this, I'm 18) and I wasn't able to make it invisible but I'm just HAPPY I closed the hole, by myself.🥰 I'm sure I'll get better with practise. Thanks for the tutorial!
Having the hardest time 😭!! I have seen your tutorial many times as well as other's. I cannot seam to make it work, going to keep trying it im a hands ON learner I know I'll get it eventually
Thanks so much!!! I just finished resewing and restuffing an old plushie I got when I was a kid and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to sew the back without the stiches showing :D (Even though I'm right handed, I do everything as a left handed person... I mean I sew with my right hand but in from right to left, like a lefthanded...) So thanks so much!
Domenica, you have to know that, I saw first time this video, and was helpful for me, I take a cup of tea in the most quietesty place of my home and I enjoy it a lot...Thank you so much from México !
Son's ripped jacket finally got fixed within 5 minutes, the stitch gives very neat finish, it created an illusion that I'm an experienced tailor lol, thanks
This is perfect! I have an antique glove with a hole in the tip of a finger which needs fixing. I was really confused as to how I could stitch it closed without having to turn the glove inside out and damage the already degrading beadwork on the outside, but this will work perfectly!
Thank you so much for showing the start and the end. I watched one other video and all she bother doing was showing us how to do the stitch well that’s great what the heck do we do when we get to the end? And your video showed us. And I did a pretty darn good job tonight lol
This will help me so much with a double sided scarf I've been dying to fix but I couldn't because I cant turn it inside out and I was afraid of ruining it... THANK YOU SO MUCH 🤗
You explain such a hard stitch so well that a college guy who has never shown before could do this! Thanks for saving me money I would have spent on a new jacket. 😁
Thank you so much! I have been trying to find a video that explains how to close the ladder stitch and could never find one! I know how to do the stitch itself but never how to properly end it with the knot!
I'm able to fix my build a bear ladybug toy that I bought from goodwill! The hole was small but he's good as new! I'm glad I was even able to learn the ladder stitch btw😊
Thank you, this was really helpful because I am trying to make a plushy for my neice and it's a tiny cute dog that she will be able to play with and I LOVE crafts and I would like to try something new and today I am going to get my supplies and work on it but I needed to prepare myself even more before I might mess up if I didn't do the right stitch😅 So, thank you!
Great job on your video! I always use this stitch for this purpose; however, I think it would be easier if you used a few pins so you don't have to struggle to hold the fabric together. Funny, I always called it a ladder stitch, but didn't know that was the real name for it.
Thank you so much because this help me fix a pair of pants that I could have easily just saw from the inside but I wanted to try and practice the stitch so I can let her try it on my coat that I love so much so thank you so much
Glad for this detailed explanation on a plushy item that’s a bit harder to hand sew! But where’s the video on how to knot through the needle or something?
Only video I could find that actually explains how to finish the stitch. Thanks so much.

Same man... same...
Hey thank you for the tutorial :) I appreciate you. Channels like this are really the best part of RUclips and the internet in general. ❤
Thank you for showing how to finish off the stitch! Not many tutorials do that, so I end up having to improvise.
Yay, I’m a lefty and am so glad to see a lefty tutorial ☺️
SAME👍👍👍
Leftys unite!! 👍👉✋
This helped me so much! I fixed my little horse backpack. I still suck at sewing but she looks better!
Thankyou sooo much you’re a life saver. I was really struggling with tightening a dress and after watching and learning the stitch I was so impressed by how I was able to adjust my dress to fit me so well

I also subscribed right away when I saw that you were doing it left handed. Excellent video showing exactly how to do this technique.
I loved this video! Very easy to understand ... helped me tremendously sewing up the “pages” of my fabric book! Thank you for a great tutorial!
When i heard you say "left handed" i subscribed immediately.
Same!
i subed a bit after cause it is the same for both right and left i am right handed

Great tutorial. Easy to follow. Love your “accent” I’m from USA. Thanks!

This should be taught to every little kid so their parents don’t have to fix every doll :’)
Amen
why was this so wholesome
My parents taught me to sew for precisely this reason
I was taught how to do this in school I just forgot how to
@@pan_man69 wow, you went to great school! Mine does teach kids to sew, but they didn’t teach the ladder stitch. 😂

I know this isn't the best stitch for fixing jeans, but I needed a quick fix and this tutorial was perfect!
This was better than the other tutorial I watched. The end result looked better too!
Domenica, you have to know that, I saw first time this video, and was helpful for me, I take a cup of tea in the most quietesty place of my home and I enjoy it a lot...Thank you so much from México !

This was two years ago.....
Thank you! Exactly everything I needed to know!

Wow I was doing this completely wrong. It is so useful to see the stitches in action! Thanks
Great demonstration. And a left-handed display, even. Thanks so much!
Thank you very much for demonstrating how to make the ladder stitch.

Fixed my Fiancé's childhood teddy bear. Doesn't even look like it was ever damaged. Appreciate the tutorial.
I've always wondered how to finish a stuffed bear with sewing because you never see stitches. This explained well.
Thank you. Saved me from spending more for some sort of a machine or bringing it to someone after opening a seam to add filling to a sofa cushion. 🤘
This will help me so much with a double sided scarf I've been dying to fix but I couldn't because I cant turn it inside out and I was afraid of ruining it... THANK YOU SO MUCH 🤗
