Never had someone so wholesome teach me about shanks.
She also has a really helpful DIY on toilet wine.
...,you know....as opposed to store-bought toilet wine.
How much blood should there be?
Sam Rogers 2 liters
This is why I only buy red pants
Just enough to give a random yet stylish design to your pants.

Que?!
Thanks, 52 & widowed. First ever button sewed on.
Thank you Christina, you're a lifesaver. Very clear instructions, both visually and verbally. No fluff, straight to the point, the best video I've seen on a very simple, but frustrating, up until now, operation. 10/10. Very good work by the cameraman s well, everything is clear and unobscured.
I am a 37yo woman and thanks to your short and simple video I was able to sew for the first time!
this video made picking up a needle and thread for the first time since high school nearly two decades ago quick and straightforward. Quick, concise, and very helpful.
OMG. This video was so helpful being that I've never sewn anything my entire life. It makes me want to go get all my husband's work pants and sew the buttons back on them...lol...thank you for the video.
Great video, I finally feel confident sewing on a button. The shank, locks and knots makes it very secure. Thanks for the clear and concise instructions.
Perfect thank you ! No swearing and no blood !
This was the easiest most informative shortest video for sewing a button on pants ! Thank you !
I’m litterally going to create a quora account or whatever it is you google for problems and paste this link, the other videos are just full of people talking for 6-10 mins for a damn button !
Thanks! My resewn pants buttons used to always come off eventually. I was tying the knot through the button and not using needle to keep a gap between button and pants. This guy feels confident now!
thanks, I'd been meaning to sow this button in for almost 2 years, finally did it now!
Same!
took me half an hour to thread the needle, making me quite mad, broke down a few times, but putting the button on was quite easy
saaaaaame
Oh. I was able to thread the needle with OUT my glasses. By guessing 😂
My mom has a special device that makes that a lot easier.
Google "needle threader". I am willing to argue that without it, some needles are simply impossible to thread.
Thank you so much, Christina! I really appreciated your friendly and easy-to-follow instructions. I looked online and discovered that I could use a bobby pin to substitute for a darning needle, as I only had one needle size available. And, I also learned what a shank was (besides the stabby kind). My boyfriend's pants are as good as new! Thanks for teaching me a new skill :)
I have watched countless videos on How-to, and this is one of the best. Good explanation, good camera shots, concise and clear information. 10/10
THANKS! I have been sewing buttons on for years and have been doing it wrong, this way is much easier than what I have been doing and I think it will last longer!
Thank you so much! I never knew how to sew, and when my boyfriend asked me to fix his button I felt pretty embarrassed, but this helped SO much!
Wtf you being embarrassed for? Tell him to fix it on his own damn self.
@@DasAntiNaziBroetchen...this was 6 years ago. I didn't mean it as a gender role thing. He didn't demand I fix it or anything...he asked if I could. I was embarrassed because I feel like basic sewing should be a skill that any person should know as an adult.
I ask him to help me with things all the time...it's a balance.
@@NikkiMiller87 It's been six years. How many buttons have you sewn on now? Do you still have the boyfriend? Curious...
@@Ebenezer456 ...I don't know how many buttons, but I do know that I have picked up a sewing needle a lot more than I ever thought I would back then! Mostly fixing stuffed animals and holes in shirts. Also, yes I am still with him. Will be celebrating nine years next month.
Followed your instructions and it worked perfectly! Thank you!
Seven years later, and here I am learning from your past self. Kudos to you!
I can learn anything on RUclips, thanks!!! thumbs up
Reason buy the 10 dollar fee per month.
Many thanks for teaching me a new skill.. 🙏
OK so i just finished re-building a set of diesel car injectors and that was easier than sewing a button on a pair of shorts. 🤣That said I got there in the end so thanks lady 👍
How do you get the button off your finger? I goofed up.
Lifesaver! This deserves more views!
That was awesome help... Thank You Christina! 🪡🧵👍
Valuable lesson delivered beautifully. Well done, thank you.
You saved my evening! Thank you
She makes this look so easy.
Thanks for the easy to follow instructions.
i had to 3d print my button and with your tutorial a week later all is well
Thank-you
sweet thanks! I kind of just freestyled the knot and the pattern that I laced the thread through the button but that was pretty fun and a feel pretty swiss army right now
Wow! Great instruction. You da lady!
I didn't really follow the video - just used it for support in the background. But I think it went OK. The button seems secure. Thanks
A figure 8 knot gives the knot a bit more bulk so it doesn't pull through thinner fabric when you're starting.
Thankyou very much! My shorts are back baby!
Thanks for the help.
Thanks. I just fixed my pants
Seems like quality instructions, but I would need more detailed ones. Like why the knot at the beginning, is that the start of the thread or do I leave it for the tail, how and when do I do the loops and such.
Don't you have to thread the needle at the beginning? I didn't see that part.
Killer work. My favorite pants are now back in action, and I can defend them (or at least better defend them) now to my girlfriend.
Thank you!
Thanks!!
that was amazing! thank you so much!

Watching this for motivation, but probably not going to follow any of these instructions.
I am now personally connected to my trousers. HELLLPPPPP
The camera should have zoomed in because she wasn't clear if the second needle though was diagonal or parrallel
Awesome. Thanks.
thank u. very helpful..
Thanks!
How much thread?
Thanks I kinda did it !!
The reason my button always falls off is when I reach down my pants to scratch my taint area I tend to pull back to much. This causes the button to fly off.
Funnily enough...
Man I love the Internet
This makes me wish I layed a attention in home ec class
that was helpful though at the end snipping of the loop after cutting the end excess threw me.
Instructions unclear, my pants are now a fine silk skirt.
mmm blue eyes
also haha somebody mowing the lawn in the background- obvi :)
Instructions unclear, somehow the button lost all the thread, fell out, and the needle, despite being tied to the string, still managed to escape the string. Yall I don't think sewing is my thing I just rolled a nat 1 irl.
Taylors be hating this >.
My thinking is if somebody is inexperienced enough to go on RUclips to lookup how to sew a button on pants they know NOTHING .... so even the very first step of tying a knott was confusing and even how to thread a needle should have been explained way more slowly like you are talking to a total imbicile like me!!... thanks for the effort though!
also used too big a needle
Your are doing it way to fast and the last loop thing, so much shaking, and hand infront of the camera, no way to see what you were doing
This chick looks so nice
Greek outcome bruso
My bf came to me because he lost a button on his pants. This video taught me how to sew it back on. Great video! Thank you so much!!
Pam you should be in Office !
This looks hard
Yeah never mind I'll just ask my mom
instructions not clear enough. My hand is now attached to my pants
It's funny how you magically pass the needle and thread through the pants without showing or even describing what that looks like. Terrible instructions.
oh ma gaud.. dimples.. .. So.. how I change my oil err.. make chicken.. wait.. why am I here again?
Too fast, no breakdown of tasks. Very poor video. This isn’t a race maam
Well that all escalated quickly 🥲
Single guy here, just sewed my first button back on my pants. Used 4 stitches per side plus about 6 loops of the shank. Assuming the knot holds at the end, I think it will stay put. We'll see how it hold up in a real world test in a couple days.
It's been 5 years. Do you have an update?
@@Ebenezer456 legend has it the pants are in shambles but the button still stays on
Thank you, sweet lady, for taking the time to create a video to show an old man how to sew a button on his pants. And I was actually able to do it! :)
Found out my cheap sewing kit sucks
I did it perfectly on the wrong button up side sucks
Shanks very much.
BUTTON, there's a T in there, and actually, there are two of them. LOL
This was easy, thank you. Otherwise I'd have just randomly run the string through every which way.
Very instructional and clear video. But how will the tailor feed his children?
Is sewing a button on MALE dress pants different because of the penis? So, if a woman were to wear men's trousers you could sew a button on the pant the same as one would for a woman since, although they are men's trousers, no penis is involved? Please let me know, I won't be able to sleep or cross-dress until I know for certain. Oh, what if the person wearing the trousers is transgender.... or a male stripper who would need to remove them quickly?
wtf is a shank? or a double stitch? why do they have tutorials expecting people to know the lingo?
Have my children.
If this works, I followed exactly.
We shall see lol
This was so helpful thank you so much. The tying off trick is a game changer!!
Just did two pairs of khakis which had loose buttons.
Very imformative anyways i wonder where is christina now 🤔 i hope she is doing ok
Thanks for the tutorial. I broke the top button of my work pants and didn’t want to call and have them replaced.
Thanks for tutorial. Did I hear an airplane in the background approx. half way through?
but which holes do you use in the darning needle portion?? Only two opposite each other or all four?????
I think I need stronger thread. Or more practice. Everything I do tears apart so far.
Growing up is really hard before I just gave everything to mom but now I need to do it myself 😃
I don’t understand when you put the needle in the middle and continued to sew😵💫
Thanks, time to try this now, lols hope i dont hurt myself
Wow, this turned out way better than I expected! Thanks for this video
Twice now this video has gotten the job done!
Is it normal that it took me 20 minutes when the video length is 3🤔🤔?
Thank you! Didn’t have to get my mum to do it this time
The tailors at the end of the video : >:O!
Never sewed a stitch in my life, RUclips, your video & a freebie sewing kit from the MGM Grand to the rescue! Saved a favorite pair of shorts from the garbage can! Thanks!
Can’t even see what she’s doing awful
