Finally an infotainment that doesn't look like an aftermarket mod
Actually the 9 inch integrated infotainment screen on the 2018-2020 models looked beautiful on the top trim models. But the 2021 update with the pop-up tablet was an embarrassment. It looked as if it was purchased from Uncle Fred's Radio Shop down the road.
@@ksd9756 Exactly
yeh Toyota had worst infotainment system of class
It looks just like the system in my Kia K5
Possibly the most visceral driving video I’ve ever seen from you Topher. Phenomenal.
For me it would be his recent video at the Porsche Experience Center driving Turbo S and GT3, for others its a Camry Hybrid video.
I'm impressed how Toyota has found so many ways to insert the 2.5L hybrid drivetrain into models that are not copies of each other.
youre impressed that every toyota model has the same power train?
I'm not gonna lie, I really love the new startup chime on the newer Toyota hybrid products.
It’s their newer chime even for non hybrids. I heard this chime on the new GR Corolla too
I believe it is their new corporate chime, it is appearing in all of Toyota's new products now.
this was the one i was waiting for!! thanks bro
Toyota really updated the car and made it look sporty ❤
lmao, slow asf
buy honda if you want more sporty
@@jakejohnson9827it only needs to to the job and it does it well. Nobody buys a camry to race on it
still ol mans car
Looks horrible compared to last gen.
Very, very nice ride. I really like the usability and economy of the hybrid / awd combo.
Instant follow, thank you ACTUALLY giving a POV experience worth watching.
Because of your excellent video in 2021 on the Acura TLX SH-AWD A-Spec I purchased it, but I still love watching ❤
I love this car, probably going to get one in the next couple months. Great review
Crazy to see you in my part of town! Highway 94 is one of the more fun roads to drive in town, also by far the most dangerous.
Hybrid, AWD, heated steering wheel, 360 camera... all things the Accord doesn't have even on the top Touring trim for about the same price. Take note Honda! Great review!
Never driven the 2025 Camry yet but from what I hear these things have great handling and are a fun sporty family sedan to drive. The Honda Accord used to be the better of the two when comparing the handling and drive experience but I guess this new Camry has finally become better than the Accord in that area. Love both cars and currently own a 2016 Accord EXL. Great work Toyota!
Such a informative and entertaining video, keep driving!
Ever since watching this channel I never enter my car without tapping my shoes. Especially because my front yard is pretty much just sand.
Great Video, so much helpful information here . Thanks
Just ordered mines! I can’t wait!
Thanks for the great drive. I think it’s interesting the Camry and the Accord have switched roles. Honda always used to be the Sporty option and Toyota was the Luxury. Bring on the GR Camry!
I'd love a GR Camry but it'd likely compete against the Germans price wise and most people spending said money on a sedan are going to buy German. The GR Supra and 86 just dont have similar levels of competition (The Supra being a German helps lol)
Like the way you comment when you drive, make you feel like i am driving it.
I have a current model as a company car and honestly think it’s the best value car in the world.
One small thing I like in this thing over the Prius is that they got rid of that strange pseudo reverb turn signal sound in the Prius. Same tonal quality, just without that echo
Coolness that can't be replicated
its about time
I drive a Mercedes now and I still miss my Camry hybrid se, spacious, fuel efficient, good looking, just couldn't find a reason to dislike this car!
really think toyota has refined their modern design language, this looks brilliant + plenty of buttons
Excellent video....
Agree winter tires are way more important than having all wheel drive.
You put it through its paces and it came through with flying colors. That's pretty impressive for a hybrid sedan. I'm curious to see your review of the Crown Signia.
Good car 🚗
Good Driver 👍
I drove up to Toyota last week & these were already being sold 🤑
It's a nice car with a very homely front end. That wouldn't stop me from buying one.
With as many different models toyota makes, I’d love to see a wagon camry again
It looks like the Crown Signia will be that wagon, if you don't mind spending a little more.
The Toyota Crown Signia will basically be the Wagon/Crossover version of the Camry
Excellent car the LE with 700 miles per tank is the way to go.
Stunning watch ❤
👀 700 range is amazing!
I find this a handsome car with the exception of the front grille. Makes it look like a guitarist from ZZ Top. Reminds me of a crinkle beard.
yeah im not crazy about the grill
Same. Gloss black doesn't belong on interiors, but it would've been nice to see a gloss black grill on all the XSE's if they were going to go with this design anyhow. The color matched honeycomb looks almost looks like an Autozone Special on the blue and other bright colors.
The grille is the best part, much nicer than the old ones. It's the rest of the car that is a problem. The headlights and taillights look like they belong on a 2018 Honda.
i prefer the le/xle grilles
grill: what you bbq on
grille: front of a car
Between the Accord, Camry, and the Kia K5, which is better in driving, handling, space, etc? I test drove the new accord and the K5, and i found the K5 GTline to be more sporty and fun to drive. They have similar interior space. I'm wondering if this new Camry is better than the two?
It's awesome👍 you can be able out there to get some extra work
Best in class
crappy cvt
I’m definitely trading in my 2021 to that. Thankfully I didn’t do it on the 2024.
The 2025 model looks so much better.
How does the performance compare to driving the Prius Hybrid (non prime)?
Great video! I can't decide between this and the 24 Sonata Hybrid Limited. Can you review that one next?
I agree about the tires. 17" is the sweet spot for ride, nose, MPG, etc.. Also, does anyone know why sometimes the navigation is very basic looking, and other times very detailed? Like it the Redline Reviews vid the navigation looked way more detailed than it did in this video. Showing all the topography, etc..
Are you going to drive the XLE topher?
I drive a 2015 Camry with 108,000 miles. The perfect size in cars.
BASE LE trim------how does this compare to the base LE (in terms of driving dynamics?)
I have the original seiko navigator timer gmt. Excellent piece!
Definitely my current #1 pick for my next car once my K5 GT lease is up at the end of this year.
Interesting. I’m coming out of a Stinger Gt-Line(2.5) lease at the end of this year. They have a 2025 K5 GT coming out. Looking the camry xse and the 25 GT. You not interested in the 25 GT or just want something different?
@@nicholasanthony-thesix11ar73 I love my K5 and I’ve had zero issues with it but I just want something different. The ‘25 updates are definitely nice though, especially the new infotainment/digital cluster. I have a bunch of potential vehicles I’m interested in for my next, I don’t know what I’ll end up choosing. I did have a 2018 Stinger GT2 before my K5 and I LOVED that car. A used Stinger and a new Genesis G70 are also on my list!
@@johnathanalbert3762 yeah same here with the G70 2.5 would be closet to my stinger gt line. I think a lot will have to do with residuals and payments this time around. Camry xse would probably have better monthly payment.
@@nicholasanthony-thesix11ar73 Yeah the Camry really checks all boxes for me, except maybe not being a “performance” vehicle. And I bet the lease payment on it will be a lot better than a G70
I was considering the SE trim but your remarks about noise has me thinking XSE. Anyone have thoughts or experience in this regard?
Just wish it was a v6. I have a 2013 Camry SE v6 with dual exhaust and that thing is unbelievably quick. If they can put that engine in here then I would buy it in a heart beat..
The interior does it for me, I wanted to get an ES but that interior is so outdated plus the Camry is roomier then the ES. Definitely going to get one now.
It's very nice ❤
What camera or mount did you use to take this video?
Does the interior rattle when you have the sound system turned up?
When will this be available to purchase and on the dealership lots?
I like it, a few nitpicks but available AWD gives it an edge over the Accord. Even though it is hybrid e-AWD and maybe not the most effective system, it's enough to give it the winter road capability edge.
this will be one of the biggest differentiators between the camry and upcoming Subaru hybrids. pros and cons to permanent AWD vs e-AWD or on demand. yes, permanent is more effective but gas mileage will take a hit. However the eAWD works quite well even if its not as good as Subarus
Is there any way you could do a review of the 2024 Buick envision?
Looking forward to it coming to Australia. Currently drive a V6 Aurion. Hopefully the Hybrid wont be to far off the mark with the acceleration.
what about road & wind noise on the LE?... Is the LE as loud as the SE?
Had 19’s from factory on my 17 Avalon and they looked flush as all could b. I think 19 is just right.
For a vehicle of this size (which i believe is pretty similar to my old Avalon)
Would you guys take the new SE over the XSE?
About time they updated the gauge cluster
I agree, the partial digital gauge cluster in the old top trims was so ugly and laggy. I'm glad Toyota has done a complete 180 with tech, especially with their new infotainment.
Chris, What a relief to see a splash of interior color available in a mainstream car. In regard to Camry wheel sizes 14:20, Canadians have been less than pleased to learn the Camry LE with sensible 16" rims will not be offered here. BTW are you sure you are not breaking an embargo with the shot of the Crown Signia in motion at 5:44 ? 🤔
It’s common knowledge that Signia is getting through all the testers right now and all the new Toyota videos are about to hit like a Tsunami
The base model in Canada will be the SE, which will have 16" alloys
@@kenchen704 I would say they will land like D-Day on June 6.
@@stevenr1354 Really? In the US the SE has 18" wheels.
@rightlanehog3151 This is from the official Toyota Canada Newsroom website. The Canadian SE will also have heated front seats and heated leather steering wheel. There will be an SE Upgrade package that adds 18" wheels, moonroof, etc. The only "downside" is you won't get the US LE cloth seats. SE will have SofTex vinyl.
Will you do a comprehensive JBL sound system review? Is it much improved over the previous gen?
That’s what I would like to know
Probably not 😐. If people complained about the JBL in the new Prius then I won’t have high hopes for this one.
I'm so disappointed, I don't get how Toyota misses the mark so much for audio when Lexus is excellent. Ironically the outgoing Camry's base audio system is better because there aren't any screeching tweeters, just good mid-range speakers on the upper dashboard, and door woofers that do a decent impression of bass.
I can see 'Most' people buying the Camry hybrid instead of the new Prius, because they actually have some 'headroom' in the Camry, and the A-pillars are not positioned in such a way that they block a huge chunk of your sideways visibility like they do in the Prius.
How does the Crown not have ambient lighting or a HUD?
Like the interior. You make driving this look fun. I worry about the sluggish 0-60. But seems torquey when needed. Will be coming out of a stinger gt-line(2.5 lease). I know they can squeeze more power from the hybrid/gas setup. This or K5 GT?
Love how XSE looks like. It's a pity it's not available in Europe... 😢
Please review the 2025 Camry LE! Wonder what you think about it and the smaller wheels
Damn this almost looks like an ES-series interior. The gap between camry and lexus ES is closing?
Paddle shifter work when you push the pedal lighter
Can you turn off the chiming when the car starts?
The horizontal lines on the dash on the passenger side came from Lexus LS.
Can the face monitor be turned off permanently?
I'd like them to add some noise canceling to their engine and/or add fake gears. I prefer hearing that over full blast CVT drone. Honda did this with the Accord
Buy a manual transmission instead of CVT. Problem solved, and it’ll be way way more fun to drive
Compared to the Accord, I would definitely take this. I just wish they still offered a bigger motor option like the 2.4T or HybridMax that’s in the Crown and others. Maybe they’re saving it for a GR version or the Lexus ES.
I'm guessing big engines are dead in these larger sedans. I think Toyota would prefer for their sporty buyers to get a Corolla or GR Corolla (or a Lexus IS/ES F-Sport).
Sadly seems that way… Then again not everyone wants a small Corolla or a manual transmission. I had a TRD Camry and was going to trade for a GRC but those things are so small feeling compared to the Camry. Lets just pray they come with a GR Camry or sportier version… I would trade my mustang gt for it 😂
My lowered gen 3 v6 with swaybars was fun to drive in canyons altho it could lil more power
Will they ever make a TRD/GR version Camry ?
a camry at 41k. so many great options at that price point. nice refresh though.
comparing this camry with the accord, its not the same anymore!
I think they're both still close competitors, just with different philosophies. The Camry is premium and comfortable, while the Accord is a bit sportier with a clean and modern interior. (And those clicky dials!)
I wonder how it's gonna sound with an aftermarket catback exhaust.
4:58 Was so satisfying
Wish the XSE had the memory seats and auto rain wipers the XLE has!
Yes! Totally agree
It looks really nice but unfortunately I’m not a huge fan of CVT’s. I bought the 22 XSE with the V6 cuz of this. I will most likely not be upgrading if Toyota continues with the CVT transmission for the Camry going forward. I’ll keep my V6 as long as possible.
I felt the same about this but you need to drive one to feel it. This is coming from someone who had a 2020 Camry TRD V6. The hybrid camry uses an E-CVT which works differently than a regular CVT. I’ll give it props, it drives smoother day to day than my V6 did. The 8 speed is decent but can be harsh at times when cold. As powerful? No. But surprisingly off the line acceleration was decent. Its only about a second off the V6 0-60.
It's not a real CVT.
ZF is the best
Does anyone know how many miles on pure EV this 2025 Camry will give?
Honestly this wins over the accord for me. I think it looks sportier and more interesting than the Accord, I love a pano roof and the Accord does not have that. And you get AWD plus the same fuel economy
Great video as always,
but why does it sound cheap when you close the door and the trunk in a Toyota and it does not in a Lexus
The noise actually comes from clever engineering. Engineers will add special air bladders and baffles to tune the sound of the "thunk".
Thoughts in this car vs the Audi A3/Bmw series 2 gran coupe? Currently deciding
I haven't heard anything especially good about the BMW 2 series. I think the Audi is best if you don't have backseat passengers often and want a sporty driving experience and a premium brand, plus sales are slow so you could negotiate a deal. The Camry has tons of space and decent levels of sportiness, better MPG in the city and suburbs, and large wheelbase and standard driving assistance that are ideal for road trips.
@@faeinthebay what about the m340i ?
@@nanomando7262 that's twice the price 😂 up to you if you want the performance but high cost of the car and its options
Just watched your POV of the Accord Hybrid back to back with this and surprisingly, the Accord seemed quieter and seemed to handle better. You were taking curves at higher speeds than you were in this Camry, yet you can hear tire scrub in the Camry. Wind noise was evident also here and almost nothing in the Accord. The powertrain sounds of the Accord also seemed a bit more refined though the Camry sounded a bit "gruffier" which is good for a sporty sedan. I will say I like the cleanly styled exterior and interior of the Accord better so that, along with the driving experience, would be my personal choice.
The accord is a sportier car no doubt
I like the accord interior and exterior better as well, I just wished it had some of this Camrys features. Even if it was priced slightly above 40K I wouldn’t mind. It’s a shame that increasing car prices can’t get you both.
Wind noise was tested with machine in car confection channel. Accord has significantly higher wind noise than Camry
@@cowboysmfoo2 they did mention though that the road and area was completely different in camrys case. Overall accord does feel a bit quieter
@@mr.iloveroblox2577I feel the camry looks more aggressive, at least style wise. Especially with the black roof and red leather. The Accord seems to ride softer and quieter but I will say the exterior styling is so bland now.
the “TRD” should get a hybrid max powertrain. it would be the perfect amount of power for this sedan
SE with AWD and in Reservoir Blue is how I’d spec it.
It's nice. Love the interior!!! The front end is meh. They trying to style like the K5 but... other than that this looks damn good
Those vents remind me of the LS
Gotta Admit Toyota truly is stepping it up in the styling and luxury area wow watch out Germans 😂
اول شخص
I like in my awd hybrid sienna i can turn the wheel all the way and punch ita d the car just turns and goes and almost rotated.
Hopefully they make one with v6 power for those hybrids
id much rather have the v6 with the 8 speed transmission thats why theres a sport button that keeps you in the power band. better yet theres paddles and they work.
CURB WEIGHT--over 3500 pounds? According to a spec sheet, this Hybrid + AWD will weight nearly 3700 pounds.. can we get a confirmation on this?
Honest question, why is this a big deal to you? I’ve seen people getting performance/track cars and worrying about a 100 pounds here and there. But what are you doing here?
@@zahf6484 Devil's advocate answer: weight contributes to greater wear & tear in addition to efficiency losses everywhere. I guess we can also dive into how weight also contributes to faster deterioration of roads, the tax implications of that, etc, etc..
But the car is already efficient at face value, and it's already pretty light for its size **cough** M2 **cough**...
Most millionaires drive this car for a reason. They are in almost every driveway of $2million+ properties here
Yeah these and es350s
@@tyhyhh”Driving a Camry won’t make you a millionaire” no one said it would, on which you based your whole essay. Though driving a reliable car that holds its value is surely better financially than a German money pit for example.
@@Kevin-fm1vnI drive around the wealthy areas of my state and I always see mid tier suvs in their driveway. Granted, these cars aren’t cheap anymore with inflation. I always see highlanders and tellurides parked in the driveways of 700k+ houses
I think its more the wives who like them😅😅 lol
This comment is true, but it won't comport to many of the outsiders priors.
Let’s hope they bring all of these improvements to the redesigned rav4!
The RAV4 is related to the Corolla, so it might take a bit. But considering how good the Prius and Camry are, the new generation for those models is promising.
@@faeinthebay actually fun fact! The rav4 uses the same engine, transmission, and platform as the Camry!
@@WesleyHutcheson I see, you're right! I always assumed the Rav4 was on TNGA-C, not TNG A-K. But the gauge clusters and launch dates line up between the Camry and RAV4.
