Sorry but have some more question. When I have the Wad on the SD card and not on the usb drive, does it matter? And are there any themes that can brick my console? And can the Wii recognise a 64 GB USB-Stick?
@@shimlanimations WADS work just fine on SD cards. I haven't messed with actual Wii themes but I've read that you can definitely brick your system if you don't do it properly. And finally, USB sticks are usable but not the best option. I've read that they're very likely to become corrupted. I started out with an SD card but upgraded to a 1TB external hard drive. Works amazingly and I have more than enough space for all the games I could want. I only keep the SD card in my system for wads, game saves and channels.

Just wanted to comment this down here: About a couple weeks ago I followed this tutorial and it worked ...for a couple weeks. A problem I had overtime was my apps not loading in homebrew channel or outside of the homebrew channel. Thankfully just unplugging and plugging the USB back in and restarting works. Though one day the apps just, didn't appear no matter what I did. The USB being used seemed to be unformatted and I had to redo the entire process. I've done it about three times, everything works except for USB Loader GX just freezing at "Reinitializing Devices" on start-up resulting in me not being able to use it. I'll most likely edit this if I find out a solution
@@melvin_pictures6598 Figured out the solution. I followed Lima112s video, pretty sure the video language is Portuguese so I'll try to explain how to do it here. What I did was backup what was on my USB to another folder that isn't on my USB (apps, wad, etc,.) and used an application from the site rufus,ie (replace , with .) I reformatted the USB with these settings: Non Bootable Boot Selection, Volume Label 32 GB, File System FAT32, and Cluster Size 32 kilobytes. After formatting I pasted my backup for apps, wad, etc, back into the USB and everything seems to be working properly now after plugging it into my Wii. I'm not sure if you need to redownload the cIOS and other stuff but I'm able to get into USB Loader GX with this

Excellent tutorial and very thorough. I'll probably tackle this project this week.. I've got one question however, is the process the same for adding GameCube and WiiWare games? Or are they not possible to add to USB Loader GX?
I'd just stick to Nintendont for the Wii games but unsure about wii ware
Wiiware just goes in the WAD folder and you use the wad installer to add them to the library

Do the offline method where you download the wad files manually
Working as of 8/8/2024, however cios installer had to be done offline even with a wifi connection on the wii.
