In a historic moment for The Royal Mint’s flagship coin, the official coinage portrait of His Majesty The King will soon feature on a memorial edition of The Sovereign.
King Charles III will become the fifteenth monarch and eleventh king to feature on the ‘chief coin of the world’, which has been associated with the British monarchy for centuries. In a poignant tribute to Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, this memorial edition of The Sovereign will also be dated 2022 and feature a rare change of reverse design.
This a rare opportunity to own the second Sovereign of 2022, which launches on 15 November 2022 at 9am (GMT).

I did get the bullion Memorial Sovereign, and just ordered the 2023 Coronation Sovereign. I'm in the States, but I like the British coins.

Although this looks really nice, I just feel that the royal mint has been pretty dire with quality control and I can’t be bothered sending it back two, three or even more times until it is done properly. Fingers crossed there will be a bullion version of the coin, I’ll just stick to that.
I have a 100% ratio of RM errors so far. 😭. Can't trust RM with my money anymore.
Lucky for me it will be late afternoon just as I finish work. 😁 I will be in the queue. Also looking forward to my first ever order from the Royal Mint due to arrive on Tuesday according to the post tracking.
Sovereigns are my prime option to stack gold, I have a 2022 QEll Memorial coin and waiting for a 2022 KClll Memorial coin to ship in. Great value, only one euro above regular random Sovereigns.

The 2022 jubilee sovereign was £585.00 I think , and gold price hasn't increased that much .. so they want just under £700 for this... really ! .. am I the only one that thinks the R.M are taking the piss ? especially when they haven't delivered the coins sold from months back.... unbelievable .. #Greed

I should charge them for all the paper and printer ink I've used .. plus petrol driving to post office.. see how they like that! 🤣
@@chrisb.h4605 I got twenty in total RM coins sent to me with errors, scratches, pressure dents, rim thinning. I look at the US Mint liberty coins with dear I say no errors. Shoot where I'm standing the US Mint for once is a winner 😂.
@@mandoperthstacker Only twenty damaged coins! lucky you... I've pretty much given up buying from the R.M now.. the silver proofs are trash , even some of the designs are awful .. like king Arthur .. I mean look how small the pommel on the sword is... totally lame .. how it got approved I'll never know ...

I picked up a full and half sovereign. But the price was distinctly ouch. Hope it's as good as the pictures. I reckon the 1/2 Sovereign with a 3000 mintage will be the keeper.

Don’t order from Royal Mint. They have £1000 of my money and I have been chasing them for about 3 weeks trying to get it back. All I keep getting told is that it will be refunded asap. 15 working days is not good customer service.

This new pink coloured coin is simply terrible! What on earth were the Mint thinking?

I hope they stop making them in that Rose Gold color. It looks horrible. I have not bought any new releases because of that color.

I just saw the piedfort sovereign coin stock picture and the edge seem to be having quality issues unless I mistaken that as some type of engraving just for the piedfort coin.
It is bad editing... It looks like the remove background took a bit of the edge with it.

Nothing like being prepared mucker 🤣... you'll be able to pull a victory grin when you've secured your coin and others are steaming with fury when they realise they've forgotten their passwords or forgotten to charge their laptops etc on the day lol. Just got to hope the Mrs hasn't set a trap to scupper your plans by hiding it all or messing with login details etc !!

Got twenty RM coins. All twenty has at least one type of error on it, to at least three problems with it. Unfortunately big pass on this king of coins. From my ratio RM is worse than the US Mint. Not burning my cash with RM anymore.
I'm not going to try to get one. Unless I can find them on the cheap. They are interesting though.👍

@@mandoperthstacker Yes. On the cheap. I was able to get the allegory series Lady Italia and Lady Germania MS 70 first strike, A 2011 Koala, U.S Coast Guard metal, a 2022 Britannia, and a 1/2 oz round. Total cost a staggering $80. How I was able to do that I'm not saying, but cheap can be done. That was just this month! Doesn't happen all the time unfortunately. And yes it was legal.
Here's hoping I get lucky, single only and maybe a spare 🤞

probably because it's 22ct so has a little copper in it to make it harder wearing because historically sovs were actually money in circulation

Sovereign is a denomination of British gold coinage, bullion is just precious metal

They are not 2 different things. You can get proof sovereigns or bullion sovereigns. They are different finishes. Bullion are struck less times so are less perfect and not finished to such a polished and high standard. Also proofs have limited mintage, bullion are usually minted to order so are basically unlimited.
Sovereign is a £1 gold coin that dates back hundreds of years when £1 was a lot of money. Over time, it’s the gold inside that has made it sought after so they’re now uncirculating, but still sought after 22ct gold coins, with both standard and proof versions. proof being high quality finish (to which you pay more for; more collectors). Bullion are simply coins with a lower quality finish, as their sole purpose is their value in metal. Eg, 1 oz gold bullion is worth 1oz gold, either scratched or not. That’s not to say a sovereign isn’t bullion, as a standard sov can also be worth its weight in gold.

Im up for the frantic queue frenzy, got my tactics all prepered (i say tactics, more like sitting dumbfounded as to why one of my computers has crashed and the other is shutting down and doing important microsoft updates at that exact moment) But when the fog of war has subsided im hopefully going to be the proud owner of a way way overpriced full sovereign, the Queens Jubilee sov cost £585, these look like they will be priced at £695!! Anyway the wife said we shouldn't buy each other christmas presents this year so woohoo, im good to go lol
