It marks the first time the newly struck coins with the effigy of King Charles have entered into circulation.

At least it's not Trudeau's mug on the coins.
People who say "a monarch should not be on Canada's coins!" probably don't realize Charles is the King of Canada.
South Park is a documentary eh
I found the toonie in my change yesterday 🤭
Wow! ill keep collecting cans until I have enough King Charles Coins, I cant wait!...🙄😒
People are funny...
Why ??
#RoyalCanadaMintQueen And King Exchange.
there is a tragedy motif in canadian culture that one hates on parting.... and no one follows up.
Nearly 30 years of living under her reign makes me forget she passed. Its like shes still with us, in a way... May god save the king...
Reign
B u r n the king
She was a glorified mascot ma dude, nothing more.
Why dont we ever put our own national heros on our currency anymore?
Well… you got the government and Prime Minister you voted for💁♀️🎄👍
King my butt hes just a sinner like me
Down with the monarchy!!!!
Please start a petition to remove the foreign ruler from our money and everything else.
@@mirror0000 Unfortunately the colonials made it impossible to get rid of the British monarchy.
Grow up
We just want our privacy!!!
@@gordonp4675not impossible
What a great use of tax dollars, how much are we in debt again?
BAARFFF!
Cool I wish I had some coin collection
All the haters...
Geez just enjoy it
I wonder how much it costs to change and retool to make... Just more wasted money.
Haters? Just say you’re too uninformed to know about why this is problematic
Are we the UK?!
Canada is a commonwealth nation.
yeah the king is still the king of Canada!!
😬… I’m glad they have enthusiasm towards this novelty item.
🤮
God save the king
Its really going to suck when the new maples have charles on them probably wont stack maples anymore really dont care for his face.
Used to be my favorite coin. Now… YUCK
Canada is mostly cashless so these coins will remain a collection piece where the value of that coin will remain stagnant.
Not true. When the dollar crashes as it will soon these and all silver and gold coins will be used as cash with a value far beyond their face value. Those without will struggle to buy food and necessities as systems change. Those holding paper contracts for gold and silver will find themselves without their product and there will be a massive uprising.
There should be absolutely no reason for any monarchs image to be on Canadian Currency.
why
@@cedric5432 Because Canada is not England. The monarch is an organization full of ultra wealthy self entitled people who take and give nothing in return. The monarch has a net worth $28 billion and enjoy the finer things in life with no concern for the citizens who struggle to make ends meet. The British monarch should be disolved and the proceeds given to support citizens in need.
King Charles is the King of Canada, so why not?
yeah why not!!
Abolish monarchy
no
F the king we don’t want that fool
He never fill mom’s shoes best thing would be for him to step down And let William take over
I'm sure William, with three young children, doesn't want to do anything of the sort. The King doesn't have to 'fill mom's shoes' whatever that means. He is far more popular here in Britain than you might expect.
well that would be too soon
He's no king, feeble and weak, abolish monarchy
so are you proboly
It’s a damned shame that the vast majority of Canadian youth have no idea who the faces on their money are.
Is it really a good idea to ‘carry tradition’ and have a controversial monarch from another continent on every coin instead of people who have done any actual good for our nation?
