    Welcome to my channel.
Today we unbox and take a look at the new King Charles III Coronation Sovereign. Thank you ‪@BritanniaCoinCompany‬ for such quick delivery.

I’ve got the proof and matte sovereigns. Both are back from PCGS. They’re splendid coins!

So it is fairly easy to send them off for grading yourself? I did watch a few videos on this subject. Also how much did it actually cost in total to grade the coin. Thanks for any reply in advance

@@goldengoose4985 I go through somebody else who sends them away. Generally it's about £20-£30 per coin.

Can you do a video about from start to finish about getting your coins graded and total costs involved. Also is it only proof coins you would actually send for grading? I would love to see a video on it from you. 😊

I can do a video on the grading process 👍. You can do it for bullion coins but I personally only did it for proof coins.

Nice video. I have started to look into the grading. So basically that coronation gold proof in the box, will you actually send that coin off for grading? I have the same coin in the box and wandered would you split the coin from its box packaging that’s you have actually paid a very high premium for?

    • @the_islandstacker
      @the_islandstacker  11 месяцев назад +1

So it is currently at NGC for grading. You just send the coin off to them. The box etc is just extra and not needed in the grading process.

It is a special set of coins given they are the Coronation coins. I understand that the obverse going forward will be the uncrowned portrait.

I've gone for the 3 coin set , hopefully it won't take too long to turn up ... from what I gather ... the crowned portrait is for the coronation year and will return to standard after... it will be interesting to see if the bullion version will have the crowned portrait ... hope so ...

    • @the_islandstacker

I don't have the funds for the 3 coin set and after the drama with the memorial one I did order going to just stick with the normal one for now.
Nice that they have actually done this release right by having the coins ready to go rather than take our money for 6 months.
That's good to know, I was worried they would try and milk it some more.
I need to get some bullion of the memorial and this one now 🤣

I've also gone for the 3 coin set.
Still available more than 24 hours after release. 🙈I'm a bit concerned about the demand for these.

@@devilgod136 I think it's probably a mix of people not having as much money, the mint hiking prices and people not really seeing this one as a "special" design.

By the way, unless the tradition changes with Charles, he will not be wearing his crown on normal sovereign releases. Only female monarchs wear crowns on their coins. So these coins are quite special in that regard.😊

    • @the_islandstacker

Thanks for confirming, didn't realise it was a special thing for just the female monarchs. But now you say it I do remember
