we bough one here in LA, it just arrived last week, with our number 0038. it's a real beauty. ours was a bit off of the black foam also, I suspect from shipping etc. I wouldn't send it back, as I doubt there are going to be any left... so few of them. I love our little coin, and I think that others that bought larger sets, but will have slight defects, will pay handsomely in the future to add my little perfect one.
I got one of the quarters as well and love it. It is indeed small but it’s beautifully presented and as you said had the lowest mintage. I love the crowned portrait as well; honestly I think he looks better than the bare headed one.
I searched for quarter and half sovereigns because I want to maybe purchase one or a gold fractional coin this month. And your video came up. Thanks for the video. Lovely pieces. What would you recommend out of half, quarter or 1/10 Oz gold coins?
@Yourtimeisnow-GG That's cool that it came up, I must be doing something right. My favourite size gold coins are the 1/4s. You don't pay too much of a premium and they are popular and very liquid!
Those are fantastic looking boxes, wow. long term i could see a king charles in the stack doing pretty ok. i dont expect there to be too many made before the williams start coming out so they could be fairly rare in 50 years or so
There are 1750 in the limited edition version you can buy from the royal mint but total mintage is 4,655 if you look lower on the royal mint's page. For the 1/2 sovereign proof, there are 2,500 limited edition with 5,405 total mintage. I think both are good deals though, crowned versions of Charles will be unusual while people throughout the UK and commonwealth will soon tire of seeing his uncrowned head on new coins and stamps.
Hello help me out hear if you buy a coin for 500 and then younwere to sell how much would you get back,i was told i would get scrap value back about 200 not much of an investment
You would only get scrap value if you sold it back to a jewellers or bullion dealers. It’s very important to understand all your exit options before getting anything mate. Join Stackers Social, we can help you better on there mate
Awesome awesome. I have two 1oz gold eagles and six 1/10 gold eagles and an ounce of pamp gold. But my heart is into silver love it. Awesome channel my friend.
I'm on the Royal Mint website right now, I'm so tempted to get one of those proof quarter Sov's just so I've got one of them, but I've got all the silver proofs and Star Wars is coming so I've resisted the temptation. I might change my mind in an hour though 🤣 I disagree about the crowned portrait on the bullion though pal, would you care for a gentleman's wager? Awesome video as always and a couple of very nice additions to the staclection, I'm well jealous 👌
@@365DaysofSilver I kept it. Coin looks beautiful just in the case slightly ajar. I’d have to imagine It is quite tricky to get such a small coin in a case like that
Preordered the Bull of Clarence and will wait for the bullion version of the Crowned King in Full Sovereign form. So like Half Sovereigns but that’s as small as I’ll go. Cheers 🥃
please explain the thinking behind buying proofs and these special editions? if ( big if ) silver is to moon in price i feel like the premium payed for these will get consumed in the price increase, for me i would much rather just buy special bullion coins like queens / tudor beasts / royal arms when they come out, there is low premium over standard coins like brits and they also go up in value quite good, like some gold queen beasts are going for 2500
@@365DaysofSilver it'll be nice if it has got the crowned portrait because then it'll mean that there will be two different King Charles bullion coins for 2023, one without a crown and one with a crown .
Charles is an absolute disgrace so I won’t buy something just to commemorate him. I’d rather go for a lower premium larger coin. Sadly Charles will still be on it but I’m thinking of recognisability and being CGT free.
Ah, yes, the premium. That's why people don't want a coin with the profile of some demented monkey with a crown. Younger Elizabeth was great, Edward was acceptable. Old Elizabeth not so good, and Monkey Charles is a shame to see on an otherwise pretty coin.
Just bought a half 2003 proof at my LCS for $272 USD, I think I got a good deal.

Very nice pick up, shame it’s a bit off the in the foam but great point about people wanted it to help make a perfect set!

Definitely a stunner but I’m going to hold off until the bullion version is out personally for me when it comes to gold I prefer bullion coins
Great decision there mate, proofs are a bit of gamble in my opinion!
I love proof sovereigns. Can't say I'm a big fan of Charles' portrait. Maybe I'll wait for the William sovereigns. 🙃
I suspect you will be waiting 25 years or so
I'm impressed with the packaging and presentation of these proofs. Smart move to acquire the lowest mileage option. Great video, thanks.
Thanks for watching mate and glad you think I made the right choice!
Take it to your local jewellers and ask them to reset the coin in the capsule
Sent it back now mate

Welcome KW!! Thank you so much for the support! Welcome to the club 🤝
Thx brother 🍻
Sent it back. I really like the coins and the boxes are amazing. I've never seen a box that looks so good.
The Royal Mint definitely has some cool products! The US Mint is lacking, their boxes are little cardboard boxes 🙄🙄

Thanks for watching mate, good to see you are back was starting to miss you mate!
@@365DaysofSilver I appreciate that, thanks for checking in on me. 👍🏻
I personally dont like the colour of sovereigns, they look like 50% copper, that's why i just go for britannia instead
I bought a bunch of 1/4 saughvrens a while back because Hattons had forgot to change the price when gold went up so they where at spot
Very nice pick ups!
That’s a really nice coin mate, I might have to get one of those!
Even though its small it definitely packs a punch mate!
Do all sovereigns come in a similar box?
Only the proof versions

OK gentlemens agreement it is 🤝

I like the crown on the king, but the 1/4 sov is a bit too small for my liking, nevertheless it’s a pretty cool proof coin
1 year on and theyre still on sale on the royal mint... guessing alot of people didnt wanner pay the extra 100£ premmy.

Bang the capsule face down on a cloth on the table. That might reposition it. Hahahah🫅
