Hello, great presentation. Wondering if there is a way to independently control The main slide and the lower third slides when the texts do not match on the main slide and lower third slide
It is possible to change the content on the lower third but I’ve not found a way to advance a slide on just one of the displays. The slides are linked. I’ve run into this issue when there is a lot of text and I’m trying to break it up. But it’s important to keep the main and lower third in sync. What is your use case for this? Maybe I can think of a workaround
@@BenjaminDenny Thanks for getting back. The general use case is for having a different arrangement for in-house and live stream. It is a lot of work to have to reorder every song, was just hopeful there is a way to control each slide independently.
@@emmanuelolu-akinyemi1216 yeah I see. So it may be possible. What you can do is customize the content but it still advances one slide per click. So you can override the content displayed on the lower third. This is helpful so you can better format it. You can even display completely different content. But you want the same number of slide breaks as the main content because that’s how it will be displayed. Does that make sense? Not sure I’m explaining it well.
Hey! Thanks for this content as I weigh switching from Propresenter to Proclaim. One thing I have found that feels like I should be able to change, but seem to find how... When doing lower thirds for song lyrics is there a way to stop it from scaling the lyrics up to fill the box? We normally have 4 lines of text per slide, but sometimes there are three and possibly even two, and the text size jumps a TON. Is there a way to change that that I have not found?
@@BenjaminDenny I played around with it and the best solution I found includes doing a shift+enter to put in empty lines on slides with fewer lines. In the editing window it doesn't look any different than a regular "enter" - which would put a new slide as you know - but it behaves differently on the output.
This is related, but not exactly to your video. Last Sunday, all of our lyrics appeared on top of our video during the rehearsal at 8 am, but then didn't work at 10 am. When I tried to figure it out on Monday evening, I could see white lines at the bottom of the screen that changed as I changed slides, but it was like only the very tops of the letters were appearing. I looked at a Proclaim "help" page that sounded like a couple others were having similar issues, but the person answering the question said that they didn't know of any bug or glitch in the software. That answer was from late September, so about a month ago. If nothing else, would you tell me the exact settings I need to have to make sure that we are not doing something wrong? The guy who set our system up is no longer at our church and the rest of us are not that tech savvy. We can use what we have, but we struggle sometimes when software is updated.
I would start by checking your streaming software. From what you described, it sounds like the placement of the input from Proclaim could be too far down. Which software are you using to stream with?
Ok, in OBS you can just click and drag the layers around. My guess is that the layer for the lower thirds got dragged and accidentally moved down. See if that could be the case.
Thank you for your help. I didn’t find a way to drag anything around, but I did manage to fix the problem. There are two tabs at the bottom of the “Sources” box. One says “Sources” and the other is “Scenes”. In the Sources tab, with the Lyrics highlighted, above those tabs are up and down “arrows”. I clicked on the up arrow and the lyrics appeared. I waited until after our service today to try to recreate the lyrics disappearing and I couldn’t do it, but earlier I had found a way to lock the “docks” so they don’t keep moving around and changing what we see every time we start up OBS. That had also been an issue for us recently. Since I tried to recreate the lyrics disappearing after I locked the docks and couldn’t get them to disappear again, is it possible that that would lock the lyrics in place? If it does, all the better, at least until they change the software (yet again).
Ahh, most likely it was layered underneath your video layer. That's what those arrows change is the arrangement of layers. I think since you've fixed it you should be all set. I don't use OBS on a regular basis although I have set it up but I wonder if there was a keyboard shortcut or something that accidentally got pressed which moved the layers. You should be all set though. Glad you were able to get it working!!!
Not that I know of sadly. There is a mobile app for Proclaim that lets you control whats on a screen. They've also added some features that would let your pastor/teacher circle, highlight words, etc. from an iPad and that be displayed on the screen. But no function to fully bring in video within Proclaim. Now if you're using vMix, you can use the NDI input and then use a mobile phone with the NDI app to actually stream a video feed wirelessly to vMix. That might get you close to what you'd have with Switcher Studio.
Quick question, can I send NDI from my presentation software to another computer running OBS? I use Proclaim and I want to send the Proclaim NDI to my second Mac running OBS
@@BenjaminDenny sounds good thanks. I'm new to NDI and I hadn't seen anyone go into much detail using Proclaim. Most people only use one computer, but I'm a big fan of using multiple computers for different things, hence, my question. But thanks for answering. I'll check it out tomorrow at church. Thanks for your help
Brother thank you for this, was really informative as I am learning lower thirds right now for our services. Two things, the volume is VERY low, any way you can up that? Second, you brushed through things pretty quick at the end. It would be very helpful to run through how to add lower thirds for sermon slides as they could be covered more fully. For example, where do you go to add Scripture overlays (not background selection) when it is a content slide? What about the verse by verse feature? For myself, I don't know to change the text on the left to fit into the background lower third. Thanks for your time brother the Lord bless you!
Thank you brother for the encouraging words! I will be remaking this video and when I do I'll make sure to cover those points. I made this video for another viewer explaining how you can customize the lower thirds some. Check this out: ruclips.net/video/xqyZyp0mlOc/видео.html However, I'll make sure my next video on this covers those points because I also had questions and had to figure them out myself when I started using these features. Great feedback!
@@BenjaminDenny That would be great! The humility is appreciated! Good on you for making videos to serve your viewers. Keep serving the Lord, He will bless you for it!
@@BenjaminDenny Thank you so much for responding. I am going from a windows computer running Proclaim and sending to our projectors but then using hdmi to connect to the atem mini and a iMac . The iMac is connected to the atem mini as well and that is our livestream computer. I thought I could run an additional hdmi from the windows computer to the atem in a “camera” hdmi, but I’m not sure if I’m missing settings on the windows computer in computer display settings, or if that is even the proper way to send it. I only have hdmi to work with but proclaim only shows me options for NDI or SDI
The setup sounds like it should work. You have 2 outputs coming from the windows computer. I would check the display setting in windows settings and verify you’re getting 2 outputs. I don’t have experience with the Atem mini but I’m familiar with what it is. Look at this documentation and video from proclaim themselves: support.faithlife.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007127332-How-Do-I-Configure-My-Display-Outputs- If proclaim isn’t picking up the HDMI, that makes me think the issue is related to the windows display setting. You want to make sure it’s set to “extend” and not “mirror”. Last thought, just making sure the windows computer actually supports however many displays. You’re likely using a graphics card so just ensure this HDMI is plugged into the graphics card. There are some PCs that support 2 monitors without a graphics card. But when you need 3+ you need a graphics card. Usually you get 1 HDMI port and 3 DisplayPorts for a total of 4 outputs.
Would it be possible to add the cinematic bars (if you're referring to the black bars) in your Live Streaming software as on overlay. Since they are static, that may be an easier way to do it.
Can proclaim have multiple output like propresenter? My church now using propresenter(Crack Version) for stage, audience, and livestream, And I want to try proclaim
