    hello... For the camera to appear in OBS's NDI sources, is it necessary to enable NDI in the camera software previously, or is it already enabled automatically?

    do you guys have a video on a step by step setup of introducing NDI to an existing network

    • @Videoguys
      @Videoguys  8 месяцев назад

      We do not have a video dedicated to doing that. There are a lot of variables that would change the recommendations. I would say if you are looking for help with a specific setup, give us a call at (800) 323 2325 or send us an email at sales@videoguys.com and we would be more then happy to help with updating your current setup by adding NDI.

    Curious what cameras they use for these video. Doesn't give me much confidence in what I would get if I went into Tricaster and their cameras.

    There’s also HDMI optical cables that you can use for long distances..

      Unfortunately you cannot run them over 300ft, you also cannot run tally, or even comms with Fiber HDMI. You are severely more limited with HDMI than you are with NDI.

    We are trying to get live streaming to screens in the same building, any tips on reducing total latency when going via NDI > POE switch > PC (with GTX 1650 graphics) but still getting at least half a second of latency?

    • @Videoguys
      @Videoguys  Год назад

      To reduce latency I would suggest Using a full Bandwidth NDI Decoder. Depending on the convertor you are using it may be NDI HX and Full bandwidth compatible, if that is the case youll want to set it to Full Bandwidth NDI. The other option you could use is Studio Monitor from NDI Tools. that also has relatively low latency.

    As I'm watching, I notice that you move in FRONT of the powerpoint screen capture - is your background an image (or partial image on the left?) and you've layered it so you are in front? I desire to know this wizardry, as the way I do it currently, my screen capture segment is on a top layer so speaker walks behind it, needing to quick change to a diff scene without the PPT showing.

    • @Videoguys
      @Videoguys  2 месяца назад

      That is correct. The way our layers work is the following:
      Top layer is our WEB URL overlay from Viz Flowics. these are our lower thirds that appear on screen.
      Next layer is the table and host of the show.
      Next layer is the PowerPoint presentation, which is a screen capture from the laptop.
      Bottom layer is a Jpeg image of an office.
      In our setup we are using a green screen, so the green is keyed out and replaced with that Blueish office image.
      I hope this helps!

      @@Videoguys Thanks for the reply! Green screen explains it...obviously not an option when recording what's happening on the stage. I know some folks use a large TV screen on the stage for showing slides online. We project them above during the service (not within the viewing range of the camera) so we run them as a screen capture and shift the scene when they're needed. Works fine, I was just curious what you were doing.

    Could you use a Ubiquiti switch instead of netgear?

    • @Videoguys
      @Videoguys  6 месяцев назад

      It should, we haven't tested it. We will always stand by Netgears Pro AV Line of Network Switches as the best switch to use in an NDI workflow.

    can I use my Blackmagic Atem Mini Extreme switcher in the NDI network?

      Thanks for your quick reply...much appreciated. I'm giving serious thought to moving to NDI. I'll do some checking with Blackmagic to see what they have to say on the issue. I can let you know what they have to say if it would be helpful? What device are you using for a switcher?@@Videoguys

      @@roberthecht313 You probably have the answer already, but the ATEM Minis as of this date - february 2024, does not support NDI directly. You have to send its signal into something that can output NDI.
