    Its 2024 March. Very good tips. I hadnt heard of the fiber optic HDMI and that it can travel further than conventional 2.1 HDMI and that it is directional. Great background of SDI that most videos didnt give. Ill have to check my old 2011 Canon C300PL that I just bought with several connectors (1 HD/SDI, Genlock, Sync out, Timecode,HDMI,). This camera doesnt do 4k and someone on RUclips had trouble getting it to work well with a Blackmagic direct link and UNREAL until using 60p)

    Worth noting inherent latency in hdmi compared to sdi....
    If you're streaming to an in house screen, hdmi will have a small bit noticeable lag

    QUESTION: What service/protocol/app/device did you use for your green screen? It's one of the best green screens I have seen.

    A couple of things....HDMI and it's versions and capabilities including CEC and copyright controls...question about fiber and durability and immunity from crosstalk issues...question about SDI standards and matched cables....NDI and POE ability...In all standards what are their bandwidths and how impactful on bandwidth is lossless compression and bit-depth.
    Can NDI support full ATMOS 128 channel audio and lossless 4-2-2 1080p/60 ? How expensive are converters between standards ?

    I'm a proud user of Yolobox mini for run'n gun streaming productions. But for bigger events I use almost ndi setup: one cable for everything, no distance limits, less camera operators on the fields thanx to ptz. NDI is the game changer.

      Yes Ethernet cables (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat 6a) do have a distance limit. 328 ft. is the maximum distance without speed loss.

    • @kaloalex
      @kaloalex 6 месяцев назад +1

      PoxyBear is correct. Propagation losses for copper beat up digital signals past 300m of uninterrupted cable run. You can rehabilitate those long runs by using switches to regenerate your original signals, but that can be cumbersome. Conversion to fiber, on the other hand, will grant you almost any distance you can imagine. It will introduce some propagation loss, but that can generally be timed out for correlated outputs and ignored for the overflow.

    it would be great to have the NDI feature in the yolobox pro

    • @PoxyBear
      @PoxyBear Год назад

      Looking at the tech specs, it already has an Ethernet port. Just plug an Ethernet cable (Cat5e, Cat 6, Cat 5a) and you are good to go. This is why I hate the term "NDI." It's just an network adapter.
      Renaming Ethernet ports as "NDI" is wrong and confuses people who aren't familiar with what Ethernet actually is and does.

    SDI has an optical version as well, though I don't think 99% of people watching this video would need it, or want to pay for it.
