those coughs. really, really........ no, nothing or no one can disrupt Kavakos' brilliant violin playing.

35:00-37:00 is the greatest part of this piece I won’t hear otherwise.

Why the fluck is the video director showing the horns at around the 7-8 minute mark? The strings are getting one of the best workouts in the piece!!! Awesome performance though and Kavakos is a GOD.

This is the original version, like Tchaikovsky wrote. Leopold Auer cut too much in his "edition". Heifetz, Perlman and others played Auer's edition, unfortunally. Tchaikovsky is better than Leopold Auer. Julia Fisher, Vengerov, Zimmermann, Kavakos, Steinbacher, Joshua Bell etc, for example, plays Tchaikovsky (original version). Thank you!

Auer thought that was too difficult and unplayable for him, so he actually rejected the original, such a jerk.

@@simonwong2738 It's just a common practice in late 19th century. Soloist then often alter their parts in order to highlight their virtuosity and brilliance. Auer himself is far from being a jerk.

Nice performance but I HATE those obnoxious phrase repeats in the last movement! They can not possibly be correct!
