27:51 the smile from that young 2nd violinist!
I agree, it's nice to see hey? He looks like he could be the youngest one there!
27:52 the smile on the young man's face after Kavakos pulls off that awesome bowing is just what I needed to see today :)
I know so many violinists that sit in our orchestra and don't show their emotions of joy because they're letting jealousy get the better of them. They sit there thinking "pfft, I could do that..." and I think that's a real shame.
3:57 this part always hits me
What I love in kavakos is that he has all the technical background to take the risks that any performance needs. He is very risky, all the time he tests his own boundaries. That's why he keeps you on the edge all the time. Amazing.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR COUNTRY(GREECE🇬🇷) PROUD.
I love to hear Kavakos. He is the best
A big BRAVO to Leonidas Kavakos!!! We are proud of him, especially in this harsh days of this pandemic and war-like background!
definitely one of the best interpretation! kept so hard from jumping out of my seat for the whole time. I have to say the orchestra performed absolutely amazing as well.
Staggeringly gifted. A formidable Paganini among the titans of the violin.
Breathtaking Leonidas Kavakos and of course Mr. Järvi and his amazing orchestra. The beauty of RUclips..
I know the wonderful Vengerov's per
formance. But , Kavakos was just
superb .
Bravo !
Bravissimo !
greek god of violin

Love your comment!!! 😍🤩
Best Sibelius on RUclips.
3:59 the timpani is so epic here, this may be the only performance you can hear the timpani in this part
It's there all right, for instance 1:21
The second movement is so 🥺🥺🥺..... Sometimes its make me cry
Sublime Leonidas Kavakos as always!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Who’s waiting for Eddy’s 3m Sibelius drop?
What do you mean exactly?
@@liamnevilleviolist1809 the two set Violin perhaps?
@@yijunzhao1447 I thought so, but does that mean he'll only play it if the TwoSet channel get 3mil subscribers?
@@liamnevilleviolist1809 Ah we hope so
Eddy nailed 3m sub sibelius 🤘🤘🤘 brett also
11:40 Unpopular opinion: My favorite part from this concerto. Thank you mr. Kavakos for this amazing performance. ❤
The most difficult instrument plays like a bird singing, we are very lucky to hear your divine playing!
Very nice , mr. Kavakos !!!!
Best Sibelius Ever🤤
This is nothing short of extraordinary
Пожалуйоднаизлучшихинтерпоитаций, безизлишнейдерганности, особенново2ойчасти.
a beatifull work for acompaning wth Paris orchestra, mr Jarvi !!!!
Most powerful Sibelius available.
He may not have a extremely dynamic phrasing as some other interpretations did but his ability to sustain the tension in a phrase is so mesmerizing
What a LEGEND!
Paavo Järvi’s face at 30:09 says it all. I don’t my know why I laughed so hard when I saw that.
I guess he knew this was music history in the making
소오름... 정말 최고의 연주
Kavakos is the master of this composition. He was the co-winner (with Ilya Kaler) in Sibelius Violin Competition in Helsinki 1985.
Thank you for sharing this great performance !!
First like is mine! There is no way out. If you want to hear the king of the instruments you have got to call someone who plays violin for you. Music sounds come to our ears and fill our soul with the most amazing feeling available in all possibilities.
Viajou nesse comentário aí em fera kkkkk
Amazing performance, thank you for this! Virtuostic, intimate, passionate, musical.
do like his bow hand knuckle bones as my perfect idealistic, the exact control of intensity on the string.
RUclips vandalizes music with the ad interferences ...‼️
31:48 and that, ladies and gentlemen, is why you should SAVE YOUR BOW
I think he can be forgiven for that
@@Dennis_The_Dude yes very true. still an excellent performance but not everyone is perfect
A very nice moment that remind us he's still a human, despite being such a magical musician.
i wish there was a video of the original version of Sibelius. Kavakos's CD recording of it is awesome. not sure if anyone else even plays it.
ruclips.net/video/kNoiwSZLX3c/видео.html this?
@@sak_1017 Yes, but he was wishing for a video of it.
Sibelius himself forbade the performance of it, but it has been played in the public a couple of times, but not very well I think.
After Dec 31st, 2027 anyone can play it as much as they want.
Thank you for fixing the audio.
This concerto is played by many violinists but I like Kavakos 2nd movement the most.
Holy moly the bowings
Brilliant
28:12
III x 6 + E: 1:59
4 & 3: 21:25
After I hear all the superve playing of Sibelius, I come back to Heifetz to fully satisfied.
so so so hardcore holy shit I love this interpretation
I wanna see a video off him playing the original version from 1904, but there’s is not video on RUclips just the audio and on Spotify ):
Sibelius himself forbid the initial violin concerto ever to be performed. The reason for the existance of the recording of the premier version is that the Sibelius family granted permission, only once...so unfortunately I am afraid there never will be a video taken of published of the original version ....but ofcourse I hope that I’m wrong : )

29:03 Sibelius went full Final Fantasy mode
i don't understand why people don't like clapping after the first movement in pieces like this. i get it if the first and second movements are connected and it's good to keep the continuity, but the first movement in pieces like this or tchaik vc it just feels empty without applause after such an epic performance
It is considered to be sacrilegious to clap in between movements and besides it can also put off the performers who require a great deal of concentration to play. Ever checked out TwoSet violin?
I completely agree. It’s a tradition that came in in the mid 19th C I think. Before that there was clapping between movements so it’s not even a purist’s tradition. There are perhaps some instances where clapping is less appropriate (between movements that have a link or need continuity) but most of the time stone-cold silence isn’t necessary. As a professional orchestral player I welcome it rather than despise it like some audience members do.
Keon Sagara - totally agree. The finale of the Allegro moderato was so good it deserved even more than the applause it received [16:31].
Muy bueno..Sonido? el mejor..

Finally a comment coming from the TwoSet fandom. Hi
@@arvindiyer1649 hello there

Sogni d’oro! 😊
28:25 goosebumps.. holy moly...
Entièrement d'accord avec vous , goosebumps..👏💝
What a sensitivity…
Does the violin he is using seem shorter than normal?
🔥
geil
Bad coordination between orchestra, conductor and soloist at the end of the first movement around 15:18. Still, AMAZING performance!!
yeah but given how chaotic that part originally is, personally I wouldn't mind lol
just wanna know how this piece is like and wait for Eddy
@christian violin
About "VC" in the title of this video: You might want to consider that not everyone here on RUclips is sufficiently savvy to know, as you and I and so many others do, that "VC" means "Violin Concerto".
As inconvenient -- even downright painful and degrading -- as it surely is for you to have to type fifteen characters instead of just two, many viewers, and especially *potential* viewers, will appreciate your going the extra mile for them.
The convention -- de facto if not also de jure -- here on RUclips is to make video titles lucidly self-contained and self-explanatory.
(And thus, by the same token, "Leonidas Kavakos" would be greatly preferred to just "Kavakos".)
wow Vladimir Putin conducting!
That ad placement is absolutely craptastic - completely ruined a perfectly enjoyable listening experience.
orchestra seems bit slow...
They clapped between movements 😶
what if the conductor said it was ok to do so between mvmt 1 and 2? (just a guess). mvmt 1 packs a punch, it somehow deserves an applause :D and they didn't applaud between 2 and 3 ;)
2nd vioin👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Undoubtable amazing virtuosity but too much muted energy, and the overall interpretation and impact of the performance didn't provide the intended meanings and depiction of what the composer implemented with the music he created.
what?!
