I enjoyed your performance as well Mr. Hughes, yet I can't agree no more than Kavakos. His music is shining, always.

Beautiful, sensitve, lyrical performance! What a sublime silvery tone KAVAKOS gets from his viollin! Such a pity audience had to clap after every movement and shatter the magical atmosphere being created!

Streaming it on tv. Revisiting the concert I watched before. Addicted to Korngold: Violin Concerto. So gracefully played by Virtuoso Leonids Kavakas and NDR Elbphilharmonie conducted by Alan Gilbert. Thank you.

There are so many ways to play the Korngold violin concerto and this performance is one of them. Kavakas is a superb artist as demonstrated here. Thanks.

Absolutely enchanting, haunting and wonderful. As a lover of Mr Korngold’s brilliant film scores, it’s such a privilege to listen to his classical side, which still sneaks in some romantic themes! Bravo. Thank you for sharing this delightful piece.

There are few violinists producing such a pure and sweetly lyrical tone as Kavakos. This hyper romantic concerto could not have a better advocate. Shame on the ignorant audience for applauding between the movements. This should be explicitly forbidden in the program notes.

Not even European audiences know to hold their applause until the end of the piece anymore. 🤦🏻‍♂🤷🏻‍♂

I love this piece but I don't believe the violin was miked properly. Too many important sections were almost inaudible.

Of course this is just my opinion, but my vote is still with Hilary Hahn. I thought his entry in the first movement around (7:01) was very harsh.
