My goodness me, what a consummate professional Ray Chen is. Not only does he play the main piece with absolute confidence and skill he even reinvented Waltzing Matilda and made it far better than anything I’ve heard before. I would love ❤❤❤❤ the chance to see Ray live, I don’t think I ever will. He is so dazzling in every way. Less you Ray xxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
I always picture waves crashing in the moonlight on the shore of an island in the South Pacific. This music is very ripe but beautifully played my Mr. Chen and friends.
Dear Mr. Korngold, Ray Chen!...just my thoughts about the legends of violin...itzhak perlman, David oistrak, Josef hassid and Nathan milstein mastered the art of sound. They don't play "clean," they play "clear." Today I learned to play "clear", by watching and listening to them all day long for 10 years. Just my humble advice, it has something to do with the shoulders...good luck and Godspeed!!!
It already became the new tradition/practice as a sign of appreciation from the audience. Although it interrupts the flow of music, it naturally depends nowadays on the rules implemented by the theater/concert halls or the orchestra itself(?). It depends on the preferences of the people whether to clap or not in between movements
My wife and I saw Ray Chen play this work last night with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. A dazzling performance!
Sounds like a fun experience! I was at the concert of this recording in Stockholm. It is indeed very entertaining to see Ray Chen perform!
I was there too! The start of the second concerto really stuck out for me.

WoW! This conductor, orchestra, and Ray Chen make a fabulous triumvirate!
That's a fun piece. I like his hair.
better than the old version
Amazing!👍👍👍
so beautiful tone. amazing.
This is just too beautiful...it is the theme to one of Bette Davis movies!
Breathtaking. If the Sith Lord was a violinist, would play like that.
Rays face goes from happy to tight and then amazed. I wonder if he know how alive he is
謝謝你的分享 ^^
我非常希望能有一天看到他!😢

MY, my, my. Another Ray Chen's work...ehh?
How is Ray's shoulder rest called?
I don't remember that, I'm afraid. I recall Chen mentioning it in one of his livestreams during lock down.
i think is something call G shoulder rest ultralight, cant remember
G-Model ultra light. $199, it's a glue on SR with adhesive that supposedly does not harm the varnish.
It can be found at Giora Schmidt's website.

Why did they clap between movements?

Don’t care for the playing …..no comparison between this and Heifetz in every way
The guy truly ruined Waltzing Matilda, a Jazz musicians would do the same.
