For a culture that supposedly centers around “family” there sure are a lot of absent gypsy fathers in this show.
Right!? Lol smh
It’s because this show does nothing to show to genuine gypsy community. It’s all staged. There are real gypsy family’s on here that expose them and tell what the real Gypsy families are like and say it infuriates them that they are associated with these fake shows 🤷🏼♀️
In a lot of them they say that its because the husbands spend most of the year traveling around working to bring money back home.
I’ve noticed that too

She doesn’t look emotionally well. The daughter looks depressed and she admitted that she has very low self esteem. All that should come first. Yes being overweight can kill you, but you know what can end your life sooner? Depression.
If she lost weight she would probably feel better about herself
You are so right !
@@smileybat28 true but the way her mom was going about her losing weight wasn’t okay or helpful whatsoever
@@smileybat28 maybe. But those two things (being happy and losing weight) are not mutually exclusive. She might also feel better about herself with some therapy and fixing her sense of self worth. Guaranteed the mom is doing nothing to raise her daughter up unless it relates to her losing weight
@@MegC1015 but she did say that she was emotionally not up for it because of her appearance, not any other factor, so encouraging self worth isnt going to actually help her long run cause it will only last temporarily and when she gains more weight she will naturally revert back into her state of depression. having the experience of losing weight and looking beautiful could most possible be one of the best experiences for her, she liked exercising and she felt great losing the weight. so in the future if she does gain weight she wont feel bad about it cause she knows she can work out have fun and lose the weight.
I was overweight as a child. My mother didnt bother sugarcoating anything. She literally told me to lose weight, signed me up on the gym and counted my calories. I lost weight. It boost my confidence which affected both my social and career life. I am actually grateful that my mom did not enable me.
For every one of you, there are another 10 that got an eating disorder from it. Saying 'all kids should be treated this way cause it worked for me' is very short sighted.
@@serenalynn22 Eating disorders are usually overstated. In modern America, any form of discipline or dieting is referred to as an eating disorder now. Just literally dont be a pig, and you'll likely save yourself all the disease and sickness that typically comes from increased weight. You dont have to literally starve yourself. Overweight people always act like not eating 1400+ calories a day is "starving them" and its BS. Just an excuse. Her mom did the right thing and so did the mom in this video.
@@serenalynn22agreed. I’m unsure how one could find the most effective way for each child. It worked for her but I feel in this situation the shame she feels about her body fuels bad eating to cope

What's wrong with blue lipstick? It doesn't look great on everyone but some people can pull it off

@Venezia Yezzi Blue lipstick isn’t inherently bad. It’s the fact that many people end up looking bad/tacky in blue lipstick. That’s not the lipstick’s fault 😞.

That personal trainer looks like she'd be so much fun to train with because she's enthusiastic, she's motivating and seems like she makes even the most boring of exercises fun xxx
Your 15 year old daughter is blatantly telling you she suffers from depression and has incredibly low self esteem. You respond by continuously body shaming her so she can get a man?
Top notch parenting.
EXACTLY! THANK YOU!
Ugh!!!!! She’s disgusting. I don’t understand how she could be so blind
It's upsetting to see. And why did she let her daughters weight get to that point in the first place? Wasn't she worried about her health? She could have made an effort to clean up their diets and be active together. But it seema like she didn't care until it came to the point where she needs to be "shown off to the community". She doesn't even care about her healthy and happiness, it's just about how she looks. So awful.
Excetly
Maybe if she lost some weight that would help her low self esteem. Genius.

I pray this girl is okay. She’s absolutely beautiful! I hope her family supports her and that her mom doesn’t end up traumatizing her with her weight and give her an ED. From experience, my mother used to body shame me for being overweight and I ended up with body dysmorphia and lost a whole bunch of weight and then she started shaming me for being to skinny. Please take care of this girl, protect her!

There is nothing wrong with wanting your child to lose weight she is a very beautiful young lady her mother wants her to get healthy. Losing all that weight will help her self-esteem!
I disagree, when I was 18, my already overweight mother told me she wanted me to lose 20 lbs, and it made me feel like shit. Fast forward, a month later, and I find out she has been dating a man who is now my stepfather of 17 years; I put two and two together and realized she was ashamed of her new man meeting her fat daughter; that made me feel even worse. Fast forward; 3 and a half years later; and I took off 60 pounds at the age of 21, and NOT because it was my mother's decision, but my OWN. Moral of this story; it is NOT OKAY to tell someone else what to do with their own body. Period.

@@Tobi22__ in the US maybe, outside of that it's very often the childrens fault, and starts when they have the money and freedom to buy food and drinks for themselves
Absolutely right there
They also buy their child's love with food or attempt to and then wonder why their child is shy, has low self esteem, low energy and little self identity. Nutrition and mental health are far more connected than people realize.

Exactly! The mother is the reason the kid is fat - she provided all the food for the last 16 years! Mom is a monster forcing her daughter to be a carbon copy of herself - she even gave her the same frigging name! If you love your children, you love them unconditionally and let them develop their own style and personality.
Weight aside, maybe this girl doesn't aspire to looking like a Barbie doll and marrying young? The gypsy culture is a horrible, regressive one for females. Who is this magical trainer? I love them, I praise them!
The poor girl looks so depressed, I hope she gets help
And...who's been feeding her all her life? "I know I've fed you a horrible diet your whole life and have spent almost 16 years not teaching you a healthy relationship with food, but it's about to reflect on me in a couple of weeks so I'm going all in hardcore to make it your problem." A+ parenting there /s
Couldn't agree more. My son put on weight during lockdown so when he went back to school he lost it all coz he has lots of sports I never once said anything to him about his weight coz I am the one who buys the food and cook so it's my fault not his. But now he is back into sports he can eat the same but work it off if he kept gaining it would be my job to change the diet never would I tell him he is fat ever. (He isn't) but even if he was I just could never say that to my child.
Seriously! She literally taught her disordered eating, and now wants her to flip on a dime? Terrible mom.
I sincerely hope her coming out boosted her confidence and self-esteem ❤️
*I've struggled with my weight for years, and this program has given me hope. The personalized meal plans and workouts made all the difference. I've lost 25 pounds, and i'm loving the new me!*
She has a beautiful face, but she's so sad, I can feel how low confidence she has. SHE MUST feel comfortable. And she must lose weight when she's mentally prepared for it and she WANTS to, not because of community acceptance. I think this poor girl feels trapped because her present and future is in community's hands not her :/
Nah she just has droopy eyes cause shes fat. Youre mistaking that for “sadness in her eyes”.
I hope that's the case.
By the way we call beautiful people "maral" in my country :3
@@bloomfire1998 oh wow where are you from 😂
In Armenia, we use it in literature to describe mostly an elegant, slim and beautiful girl, just as graceful as a deer. I'm not sure what language it came from, Wikipedia says it's in Mongolian, I personally believe it's in Persian. If you know more please tell me, I'm interested :3
@@bloomfire1998 im persian and it means deer in azari. Thats all i know. 😂
I hate that the mom didn’t say “she needs to find confidence in herself” instead flat out “she needs to lose weight”
Agreed
But she doesn’t need to lose weight. Once she’s at a healthier weight her confidence will soar.
@@Laoriginal718 that's not how it works
Ah well it would help
Ur disgusting for trying to normalise obesity. She NEEDED to lose that weight
This poor girl. I feel so bad for her. I wish her mom would really help her with her insecurities and depression. 😔
My parents were like that mom until one day I developed an eating disorder and then they started begging me to eat but the damage to my mental health was done. It took me 12 years to recover from that. Shame on mom for doing this to her in tv. Mona Lisa you are perfect and beautiful inside and out.
My mom was like this as well. I started drastically cutting my calories at age 12 and exercising as much as possible. I was skinny all through high school. Once I turned 18, something just clicked and now, 10 years later, I’m very overweight. I understand your pain. I’m trying to learn nutrition for myself as an adult and change my ways.
She deserves a life where she doesn’t have to lose weight “to be accepted” health is important yes but so is mental health
I hope one day she knows this and leaves
Heath is more important than mental.
Not only that but as a parent she shouldn't have been purchasing trash food knowing her daughter struggles with eating. As a parent she needed to take action quietly and not address it when it finally became a big enough problem
@@daniela-xf7kz You can't have physical health without mental health. Your mental health has a big impact on your physical health.
@@daniela-xf7kz There is a direct link between weight gain and depression
This is so abusive on so many levels. That poor girl. She is miserable.

That’s guy at the end had such a big smile so happy
She lost 20 pounds in three weeks?? Girrlll I’m so proud of you!!! I’m over here struggling to even get out of my bed!
Thats not healthy
That amount of rapid weight loss isn’t healthy. It’s not recommended to lose more than 1 or 2 pounds a week.
Proud? That is a dangerous amount to lose quickly.
and also the mindset she had to lose that weight is also unhealthy
I do apologize for my comment since I wasn’t aware of how unhealthy rapid weight loss is. Also how unhealthy the mindset is. Thank all for informing me about it. :)
When the mum talks about how she's happy the Gypsy community accepted her.. Like, did she really expect them to start throwing cabbages or something?
CABBAGES 😂😂

My cabbages!
You’d be surprised lol
So nice to see a parent push the kid to do better

Very. They get married at such a young age. She should be concerned with school but we all know education isn't their thing
Its so disgusting. I couldn't imagine trying push values like this onto impressionable children. Everything about it is so backwards and dangerous.
like every culture, there are toxic views and cultural practices that are wrong, Roma's are not any different, but just know that not the whole community is like that nor agree with cultural "norms" within the community like child marriage over education, misogyny etc there are many Roma communities that value education and live moral lives, and strongly disagree with these practices and cultural "traditions", this show is just an overly dramatised stereotypical show to gain an audience, I hope you don't judge us based of this show and have a good day :D
@Flocxs - Definitely. Everything is always centered around the man's happiness. It's as if the women settle. I think what happens when the husband ever died these women have no skills. That is why I think education is very important
I think her mom cares about her, but shows it in the wrong way. When her daughter was scared she wouldn't loose enough weight, she kept saying things like "I believe in you" "you can do it, I know you can". But at the same time wouldn't seem to acknowledge her obvious depression.
You seriously think a parent telling their child they believe in them and encouraging them to achieve a positive goal is a bad thing? There's something wrong with you bro..
