yeah, i feel like a big part of the reason why she was unhappy with all those other dresses is because they didn't look the same on her as they did on the models. i tried so hard to find dresses that were specifically designed for and modeled on plus-size brides for that reason but there's just not much out there. wish i knew how to sew, i'd start my own line 😂

My friend went to a bridal salon to buy a wedding dress. Her parents offered to pay for it. She didn't want her parents to pay for it because the father was later off & had some trying times. The dresses she saw in the bridal salons were all too costly . She found a wedding dress at a Salvation Army that was really really GORGEOUS, she bought it w/out even trying it on. She took it home and put it on. Showed her parents, they were shocked cause they knew it was an unaffordable designer dress w/ a big ass hefty price tag. This left the parents speechless. When she told them the price, again, they were speechless. Grand total of $ 49.00. Then it was a pink tag which made it half off. Total price was $24.50. And WHAT A GORGEOUS DRESS it WAS...Everybody at the wedding remarked about that dress. She told the groom at the reception and he spit his white wine across the room. (FUNNY)....groom told her previously that her dress was quite expensive looking. Veil came from a bridal salon. The designer dress,.........compliments of Salvation Army !!!!!!!! A portion of money she would have spent went to animal sanctuary. She did right by her parents. Not so THIS bride.

Found my dream dress for £2000, went back to save and found THE dress in a thrift/charity shop for £150 dry cleaned in my size!! I'd rather pay for my own wedding than guilt family into paying more than they can afford!

To me that would just overall make me feel a lot more in control because they can’t say anything about what I chose to spend more on. That may also just be because I know I won’t care about pretty much anything but the dress and food more specifically the cake. I’ll decide if alcohol is allowed depending on who’s coming.

I just went to try on wedding dresses last Sunday, and my dad and sibling were willing to pay for the almost 2k dress they liked on me, but I couldn't let them pay for that, so I chose the one I had on my mental budget, and it gave the bridal feeling. I could not in my heart allow my family to pay that much for my dress; knowing there were other expenses to pay, even the bridal consultant encouraged me to decide on the expensive gown. I am so happy with my choice; the dress I saw online that I thought I wanted was 400 bucks more than the one I chose. I am thrilled with the dress I chose. I cannot wait until it arrives and I will get to marry my man in that dress. Hehe, sorry, I just wanted to share one of the best moments of my life. ❤️
