Kelly Kettle Cooking: How to bake a cheese & onion quiche using the ultimate base camp kit

  • If you’re looking for Kelly Kettle cooking ideas look no further! In this cooking video I’ll be doing some campfire cooking using the Kelly Kettle Ultimate Kit to bake a simple but tasty cheese & onion quiche.
    Using the Kelly Kettle and hobo stove in this way I could also bake a variety of other foods including pies, tarts and tray bakes, which I may try in a later video (subscribe so you don’t miss out!).

    As I'm watching the video I'm like that is never going to cook... But then you put the firebox on top and I was like, OHH YEAH 👍

    This is an ingenius idea! I'm from Northern Ireland but I live in New Zealand and I will definitely give this a go with mine. Great uses for a great survival item, especially when you live in Christchurch 💪

      Thank you. TBH this turned out way better than expected. Using the tortilla worked a treat though. I am a fan of these as they have a good shelf life, pack small, add a few extra calories and carbs to a meal and are surprisingly versatile (might try them as a pizza base too some time).

    Love your clips. What size is your Kelly Kettle (1.6 or 1.2)?

      Hi Michel. Thanks for checking out my videos! My KK is the scout which is the 1.2 litre. If you didn’t know already all the dimensions are the same as the 1.6 litre version with the exception of the height. Cheers. Neil

    Well done, that looks absolutely yummy, what brand of tortillas did you use, they seemed to have worked so well. I look forward to seeing more of your recipes.

      Thanks. They were unbranded from a budget supermarket. They were the mini tortilla though which fit the frying pan perfectly 😊
