You are a good example demonstrating the Cook does the magic, not the gear. You made a delightful dessert with very simple equipment. Inspiring, thank you.
Thank you! 😊. I do find not just with the Kelly Kettle, that very often the limiting factor is myself, it’s fun pushing the boundaries, and in this case tasty too. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
It was! 😋. I’d use dessert apples again, they held together nicely (not a fan when cooked apples turns to mush and end up little baby food). Thanks for watching 👍🏻
The best tool for bushcraft is the mind - Swiss Army knife ranks pretty high too though! 😂. Thanks for subscribing. Hope you enjoy my other videos just as much. Cheers, Neil
Who doesn’t love a crumble 😋! I love the versatility of the KK ultimate kit, the scout version I have has impressed me so much, everything I need in one package, so glad I finally got one!
@@janmariolle Hi Jan. thanks for subscribing, that’s great to hear! The fire bowl on top works a treat, like a mini Dutch oven! Have tried that technique a few times now ☺️
Awesome outdoors pudding. Loved the scenery- sweet chestnut leaf litter on the ground. I think the other ‘outdoor ‘Tubers’ from your part of the planet are Burton Outdoors and Wilston Vello. But the most ‘similar interest’ channel to yours that I watch, would have to be Northern Embers Outdoors, he’s in Perthshire though 🙄. Your subscribers will grow, quality content & footage sells itself 🇬🇧🏕🔥🎥👍
I’ve come across Northern Embers, I’ll look the other two up! Thanks for by our words of encouragement and for your support. Glad you’re enjoying the channel 😊

@@billyaitken7461 21 staples! Ouch 🤕. The downside of being outside too much! (I have a brother in Oz near Sydney so know how powerful that sun can be!). Sounds like you’re being well looked after though even if it didn’t seem that way when your head was being stapled. I do wish you a good recovery and hope you’re back out on that kayak soon. That’s a great compliment, thank you, I guess all that mad running around with a tripod and one camera phone is paying off 😂.
Hi Allison. I love experimenting and pushing the boundaries. This one did turn out particularly well 😋. Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoy my other cooking videos too. Cheers. Neil
Thanks for watching another video. Works surprisingly well with the fire on top. Thinking of baking a pot pie in a future video so I’ll be using that technique again sometime. Thanks again. Hopefully see you in the next one. Cheers. Neil
Really enjoy the videos Neil. You've encouraged me to get out more with the KK which is one of my favourite bits of kit. Might even have a go at some of the recipes.
Nice one. We love a good apple crumble. I'm rather glad you used some birch bark. I harvested a bit the other day and was debating on whether or not to use it with the KK or some other stove. Thanks for putting this together and sharing!
I usually skim over fire lighting, but it’s a big part of the process with a KK (or any wood stove!). Having a simple (but tasty 😋) recipe gave me the opportunity to incorporate into this video. Was pleasantly surprised with how effective the birch bark was going first strike! I look forward to seeing you try this out in your videos. Thanks for the support. Cheers. Neil
You are so inspiring! I love my Kelly Kettle, and am looking forward to a break in the monsoon so I can get into the forest and bake a mango crumble. I would have made a cup of coffee to go with that though!
Thank you for watching! The KK is a fantastic bit of kit isn’t it, I quite enjoy pushing the boundaries and seeing what it’s capable of. Hope you enjoy my other videos too and find these just as inspiring. Enjoy that brew with a view when weather allows 👍🏻
After feeling the pain of trying to boil water over an open fire for thirteen nights, my next ten night solo retreat was a joy with the Kelly Kettle. I now have the Basecamp and Trekker kits. I prefer the Basecamp as I can have coffee, cook a meal and fill my thermos with one fire.

I feel vindicated. So glad to see that there's someone else who uses a Swiss Army Knife for bushcraft. You have a new subscriber.

That's my favourite desert! That looked amazing considering it was cooked outside. Need to try this...
That’s cool! Crumble is one of the best isn’t it. Hope yours turns out well. Cheers. Neil

@@parkitpitchitmoorit I'd certainly want to get one of the kits and not just the kettle. I'd just buy the other stuff later anyway 😁
Great idea putting the fire bowl over the pot! That turned me into a subscriber. Thanks.

Very good, Apple Crisp in the forest.
Thanks for checking out my video. That technique worked better than expected! Can’t wait to try it again with different recipes
