❤ it ... Great use of the Kettle again ... made me hungry ... ❤ my KK and so versatile ... when you re-stocked the Base with wood you felt it was on the way out ... my solution to that is to replace the KK back ontop to utilise the rocket effect for 30sec ... which I've done on numerous occasions ... Yum Yum ... 👍😎👍
Thanks for watching. Versatile and good fun too! That’s a good idea putting the kettle back on. Saves damp knees blowing in the hole with my copper straw. Thanks again. Cheers. Neil
Thank you Sven. Second portion cooked and eaten off camera turned out even better as I cooked the potato cake at a lower temperature and for longer and it didn’t burn. Thanks for watching. Cheers. Neil
congratulations on being the first person in a decade i have seen split kindling using a stick to support the piece of wood as i do. Most want to aim for there own hand and pray. 😬
@parkitpitchitmoorit Just wonderful I say. You are an excellent Bushcrafter as well as Chef. We would all be so lucky to try your cooking. The KFC chicken looked phenomenal as well. Always happy to see you friend. Keep safe always 🌷🌱
Great job. Love to see the Kelly Kettle in action! You make the best stuff out there. Also, love to hear the sound of the KK while cooking-very relaxing.
Thank you! If there’s wind or traffic noise I use a mic but I do prefer to catch the sounds of the KK and nature. Glad you enjoyed that too. Thanks for watching. Cheers. Neil
Always a pleasure. By the way, what size Opinel are you using? My #6 is a nice little one, but I’m looking for something more suited for kitchen work. What you use seems to handle anything that you throw at it.
@@andrewgorden1041 Opinel knives are fantastic aren’t they! My one is a number 12 in carbon steel. I bought that back from France when I was 13 years old having bought it on a school trip! Still performing flawlessly 😊
@@parkitpitchitmoorit Yes they are:-). I’m thinking of getting the fork and spoon attachment for my little one to keep in my lunchbox. Already keep the knife in my pocket. That’s a very cool story about when you got it. Shows its durability and functionality. I still have and use frequently a SAK camper that I received from an Aunt and Uncle for Christmas when I was 8 years old. My uncle has since passed away and I’m now 46 years old. I will have to pick me up a No. 12. Gonna try this recipe out soon here. Amazing what you can do with a KK. Take care:-)
@@andrewgorden1041 that’s awesome. Always nice to have a little keepsake, especially something that’s functional too. I might be wrong but I think the fork attachment only fits the number 8, might be worth double checking. You take care too. Cheers. Neil
Kelly Kettle is the bomb! Just can't beat it. Yes, you needed to fry the potato cakes at a lower temperature and I'd recommend cooking oil rather than the spray, but ya know what? Life is an education and experience educates. That salmon looked absolutely amazing. Great video. I hit that subscribe button and smashed the notification bell. Want to see more of this!
I had enough left over for seconds which I cooked and ate off camera. You’re right, cooking at a lower temperature was the way to go. My second helping turned out much better. Cooking oil is the way to go! Just trying to use up that spray first. I don’t like to waste. Thank you for being my 700th subscriber! Hope you enjoy some of my older videos just as much. Cheers. Neil
@parkitpitchitmoorit wow! 700th? Feel privileged! 😁 Going to check out the rest of your content this evening. Looking for to your post welcoming your 77,000th subscriber 😁
Great video, thanks for sharing. The salmon looks delicious.... I'm on the hunt for beechwood, first stop....our log store. My KK arrived yesterday and I can't wait to use it.
Arrived yesterday. How exciting! Hope you have as much fun using yours as I do with mine. I have yet to try it but using different woods makes for completely different flavours, try apple wood or oak if you can’t find beech. Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
Thanks for the tips. I bought the Base Camp with all the accessories, second hand, for a good price, to use at home mainly - when we get a power cut - we live in the middle of nowhere! And as an additional cooking method when we use the charcoal bbq. If we do go camping, we'll take it then, instead of the gas stove and gas bottle. I am so excited to try smoking fish. We have mainly Ash in our log store for the wood burner, so I'll explore other options for something suitable to smoke fish with @@parkitpitchitmoorit
@@allisone7909 they’re that well built even a secondhand one is great! Hope the smoking goes well for you. You could even scale it up with a bigger saucepan if required. I use mine KK a lot, mostly for boiling water as it’s so fast and better to use a few free twigs than burning gas.

Thank you. it's brand new and has never been taken out of the box; it was an unwanted gift. I has an orange stopper and the original pot support, but I can buy the newer versions of those, if I think we need them.@@parkitpitchitmoorit

Love the Kelly kettle, cant beat a glass of ice and a Guinness Stout on a hot summers day or beside the fire :)
Never fails to hit the spot does it! Thanks for watching
What a treat to see another of your wonderful videos. What a brilliant idea smoking that salmon. Thanks for the fun!
Thanks for checking out another video. Glad you enjoyed it. Bit of a longer video this time 😬. Hope that doesn’t put anyone off 🤞. Thanks again. Neil
@@parkitpitchitmoorit It takes time to cook a great meal over a fire.
Very inventive way of cooking the salmon. I would never have guessed you could get a whole can of beer in the cup either!
Thanks. It turned out way better than I expected, definitely going to use that technique again. Thanks for watching! Cheers. Neil

Great to see you back with the Kelly Kettle! Your meal looks just wonderful.
