GG this was a lot of fun. The most surprising thing about this run is that of all of my attempts, 80-90% of them failed before Dancer. So interestingly enough the first half of this challenge was harder than the second half.
@@AmazingChest In retrospect the Oceiros fight went pretty well. The worst occurrences was the Gravity death and not getting the Mimic Head. Although by my calculations getting the Mimic Head would only give me 150k extra souls max, so even in the best case scenario I would probably be about 70k short of the winner. For me to win I would've needed to get the Mimic Head, and for him to not have gotten it. Funnily enough I did have a run where I got the Mimic Head, and beat Dancer, but it ended after two consecutive deaths in Lothric Castle, and lost all my souls. That's why I took such a safe path in the area.
A pleasure participating in your event, Amazing Chest ! Now if only I had got time to do Old Demon King to end on a round 850K souls I would have been truly satisfied, but I'll take it nonetheless, hehe. Congrats to the two other contestants of the top 3, and looking forward to the next challenges you have planned for us !
Congratulations to both Jordien and Dorkmoon Blade for 1st and 2nd place, you were both insane to take on Oceiros but your placement in the challenge was well deserved. It was enjoyable to see your strategies and it made me see that I'm not as much of an expert at the game as I thought I was. It's an honour to be featured in the video and I want to thank Amazing Chest for setting up an amazing challenge. I may have not been the victor but I did have a lot of fun which is what really matters. I look forwards to other challenges in the future. I have some comments on my own run if anybody is interested to read: I always had the thought that other players would get the Symbol of Avarice however I didn't want to bother with it myself because I prefer not to rely on luck, even if I can reset. Either way, it wouldn't make enough difference for me to win in this case. That Wolnir death was embarrassing but being that this was my 31st run I just wanted to get it done. I did get overconfident against Dancer and I definitely bit me, I had practiced her a lot and was counting her spins but she gave me an unusual pattern. Usually she spins 7 times but very rarely it differs, I even got a run once where she span only twice. Dragonslayer Armour was a real pain, the butterfly meatballs filled me with rage and DSA's overhead attacks where all one-hit to me because of the low health. I had practiced this boss a lot and learned the sounds that the butterflies make depending on their attack so that I can use the walls and fountain to my advantage. The giant meatball is a one-hit kill too so I had to worry about that. The full run is public on my channel if you want to come see it, I also make other content too if you'd like to check it out.

Super cool idea. Some others to consider: -Most overburdened -Most items collected -Fastest boss kill -First to 99 in any stat -First fully-upgraded boss weapon
I really like the First +5 Boss Weapon Idea, as in the time it takes to get 15 twinkling and a slab, you would easily have acquired an abundance of boss souls, so the completion in and of itself would be a great way to show off your favorite weapon
I like this idea, but do you think there'd be enough variety in the run? I feel like there's an optimal way to collect all of the twinkling necessary and it would just be the same run over and over again but with each contestant using a different boss weapon.
@@AmazingChest I think he means getting the highest equip load possible within a certain time span. I think it would be interesting to see how runners would deal with fat rolling while having to get the heaviest weapons and armor.
Every Boss fightis RNG, some attacks can't be baitet some movement is out of control, but every fight is winable. I don't see a problem with low drop rates from an early game item. Maybe you remember the DS1 any% route where you farm a black night hallbard with a 1/5 chance.

Challenge speedruns, or speedruns with some condition other than the normal any% or all bosses etc, are always super exciting since they require completely new routing. It's always very interesting to see how skilled players go about it. I am tired of the normal categories. If there were speedrun categories for every weapon in the game, I would relish in every one of those runs.
Fantastic runs, everyone! I shouldn't have been surprised that this was more of a 1 hour time limit speedrun, where the main source of souls is as many bosses as possible. Part of me hoped there would be some specific thing I could use to get rich in early game.
SirPugger makes very similar videos for Old School Runescape and I very much appreciate his use of a timer in a corner during the playback so the viewer gets a sense of where in the run they are.

Incredible run, I just think if it ever happens again, you should add a rule for "no Symbol of Avarice". Jordien was clearly the more skilled of the three, from his routing and whatnot, but the Symbol adds too much RNG. Taking it out even balances the playing field, if I'm being completely honest.
I always had this daunting feeling that other competitors would have used the Symbol of Avarice, well done to them though. Looking over my run I can see that the Symbol of Avarice wouldn't have been enough for me to win anyway but at least I had fun.
@@fortnj Yeah, I noticed that, but having the Symbol, want it or not, gives you some leeway in your choices. this shit is so entertaining! keep it up man!
Damn i wish id find this channel earlier.
I love darksouls 3 and would have loved to participate in this.
Im definitely staying as your content looks interesting :)
Happy to have you!
First video from you I've seen and I loved it. Hope you can make more content similar to this in the future. I could see your channel getting a big boost with elden ring on the horizon, and I hope you enjoyed making this as much as I did watching.
Yeah this one was a blast to make!
That was awesome to watch. Thanks to everyone involved.
Thank bro...had lots of fun in this compitition ❤️
I have over 1200 hours in DS3 (about 1k in PvE) and I've never seen Vordt get staggered/riposted.
I was in awe by Jordien's ending! Both because I didn't know you could early plunge the dragon, but also the balls on that person for taking the risk with 4 minutes left.
You can also plunge the dragon with your fist
This was a great idea and challenge. Insta subbed can't wait for future vids
What a treat to watch. This was awesome.
