As far as Orbeck goes, there's a few NPCs, him included, whose quests will fail if you proceed into the Catacombs. In Orbeck's case, if you don't give him a scroll before then, he will leave. Similarly, Yoel will die regardless if you enter the Catacombs before doing his quest, locking you out of that ending.

10 months ago you predicted it would take 40 hours to farm covenant items in dark souls 3. Well now we know it only takes 15 hours of soul grinding pain. My hat is off to you
this assumes you are doing it in one block. If you are aiming for the plat from the outset you would be far better farming little and often. Do half an hour here and there, and by the time you have everything else you'll either have them, or only need a few.
I’ve just finished the platinum a few days ago and would like to add my 2 cents. Firstly, you dont actually need 30 Pale Tongues and Human Dregs, just 10 of each because the ring and the sorcery is the rank 1 reward so just 10 of them. And also, it’s a lot easier to farm for the human dregs from Aldrich’s bonfire and walking outside his arena to the 3 deacons Also, if you’re going to farm for the items, I suggest getting the Slumbering Dragoncrest to muffle your footsteps and Hidden Body (both are from Orbeck) because it makes the runs so much easier and faster For the gestures, you can’t get them all in a single new game cycle as you need to choose between Sirris’s gesture and Heysel’s gesture since they are mutually exclusive. Now in regards to Orbeck, he will leave only if you kill Abyss Watchers without having given him at least 1 scroll (there’s two before AW, the Sage’s Scroll and the Golden Scroll. Either one of these will work) I’d also like to add 3 tips for anyone doing the platinum. 1: Finish as many NPC questlines as you can in the base NG so that you can blow through the other cycles 2: Make sure you keep all the boss souls and dont consume them as there are a lot of bosses that have spells as a boss soul reward which counts towards the trophy; and there are 3 bosses that have a ring 3: If you have the DLCs, head to the ringed city past Demon Prince and get the Covetous Gold +3 which helps tremendously with the grind. Also, whenever you use a Rusted Coin, always rest at the bonfire and not homeward as it removes the coin’s effect whereas resting at the bonfire will keep the effect of the coin for the duration you have left. This saved me numerous souls on coins
About Orbeck you are actually wrong. There are 2 ways to fail his quest and make him leave. The one you mentioned and the other is killing any 4 bosses (including DLC) without giving him single scroll. About farming human dregs I would also discuss. I don't see number suggesting any of mentioned 2 spots has better mobs killed to time spent ratio. It's seems picking one is just matter of preferences. Most people pick route from pontif bf. But in general you left few great tips.

hey, comments like these mean the absolute world to me. I also share the same feeling about youtube, so thats Really cool that my videos can stand out in that case. thank you so much.
A good note if anyone forgets to go in the cage for the mound makers, u can get it by completing sirris's quest line after fighting with her in the pit of hollows
I got it too last year. Having to grind out the offerings for the covernants was the most dreadful thing but so worth. Now I can say I did it. This is my favorite soulslike game so it had to be done.
4:29 you only hollow after getting a free level from Yoel (it gives you a Dark Sigil when you do), and you get one point of hollowing for each Dark Sigil in your inventory. Get a second free level and you'll get a second Dark Sigil, giving you 2 levels of hollowing per death, and so on.
Seen enough walk throughs that I can tell you about all quest lines and their conclusions (and fail conditions) Greyrat - Once you find proof the old lady is dead, he becomes a scavenger merchant. You can send him out to get more shit but if you send him to Lothric Castle .... instant death. That's how his story concludes. Make sure to tell Patches afterwards cus they're bros. Yoel - Part 1 of the Dark Lord Questline. He will die the moment you reach the abyss watchers or get all 5 free levels. The lady who spawns afterwards sell reverse hollowing stones and a evil brailie tome. The priestess - Miracle tutor. Her questline has 2 paths. If you only give her GOOD MIRACLE TOMES and buy all her spells, she becomes an extra Firekeeper (cus she's a failed firekeeper). This is the good ending. If you give her the evil brailie tomes and force her to teach you those well .... her bodyguard will think you just violate her and will try to leave the shrine with her. Follow them out, kill the dude, and send her back. She becomes so unstable that the only "touch" she will accept, will come from wearing her bodyguard's gloves. Do it, and she ask you to end her. That's the bad ending Orbelk - However you spell his name. You can fail to recruit him if your INT is under 10, but he will leave if you don't give him a spell scroll every 4 bosses, or enter the Catacombs which is a checkpoint. He will also be failed if you don't give him every scroll by the archives. Once you give him the Archives scroll, he dips and perishes there cus knowledge is cursed. That's his conclusion. Moonknight Lady - Her questline actually goes on from that. There's a summon from her on the bridge to Irithel where you defend her from an invader. Do this, and talk to her in the shrine and she'll let you know she's on a kill mission. You can be summoned by her again (forgot how) to kill the npc who recruits you into that covenant if you get to him before the rotten tree does. He will be alive regardless of if you kill the tree or not. Andri - their quest isn't worth it since your reward for it is to get summoned to fight Aldrich as many times as possible (and it won't count for you) but their quest will fail if your trying to become a dark lord thanks to the abductor: which is ten times better ngl Onion Knight - You already explained that questline.
My own personal quest to get all the Achievements in the Dark Souls Trilogy was completed many years ago now. The worst part hands down in each game was all the covenant stuff. But I very much enjoyed beating up invaders in DS3 as a darkmoon blade. Though I think I got lucky at one point in 3. The pyromancy "Warmth" is a covenant reward for mound makers. But without knowing it at the time, since I had just started my first run in DS3, an invader dropped the pyromancy for me, then just left my world. I only found out later that you couldn't actually drop spells for other players. So while I still needed to farm mound makers for the weapon you get from it. I at least got to use one of the most powerful healing spells in the entire game for each of my 3 play throughs. So that was cool.
Im so glad i decided to watch this, I had no idea you could farm the sunlight medals, I wanted to do a 100% video sometime and was a bit discouraged cause I thought you couldn't farm all covenant items
Siegward is my favorite NPC in DS3. He takes Siegmire from DS1 and makes him live up to the hype. Siegmire only has 1 act of actual bravery, and based on his daughter he seems to cause more problems then he helps. Siegward is flipped on his head by his very first set of interactions. He fails to figure out there are two elevators, but in doing so he tells US that there are (which most of us wouldn't realize on out own). Then his dialogue hints to us about how we can just talk to the giant instead of fighting him which is very helpful! THEN we see him near the demon and he warns us "Hey, this guy is really strong. Don't go in without a plan of some kind" and when we ignore that advice he jumps down to try and save us! Finally, unlike Siegmire, he only sleeps in places that are actually safe!! Next time you see him he's gotten himself into an ACTUAL serious situation by getting conned and thrown in a well without his armour. Siegward is much more compotent, but he's still a similar character as shown in his narcoleptic tendencies and... ...lack of smarts. Either way, though, he actually needs our help to get out. It's my belief he can get out of the well on his own, but doesn't because he would be going into a hostile area with no armour and could die (or he's shy about his magnificent chest ahead). Later in the Boreal Valley he provides you with some wonderful soup, AND he saves Greyrat!! Yet again he actively commits an act of heroism for not ONLY a stranger, but one who is BRANDED as a criminal. Finally he's captured in Irithil, likely because of his armour admitedly, buut he still prooves his competence one final time by being a part of the SICKEST CUTSCENE. Seeing the resemblance of a FAN FAVORITE character join you in fighting one of the MAIN BOSSES OF THE GAME is awesome!! Only Gale'e pre fight cutscene contends. And once he finished his duties, he knows he can finally rest. He leaves you, his friend and ally, his armour (what allowed him to get as far as he has) so that you might be able to help more people. In conclusion Siegward should get just as much love as Solair, and personally I think Siegward actually is Solair in disguise and also is a total cutie.
I know you use these Max achievement videos as comedy, and they are funny. But I just got the platinum trophy for this game by using your video as a guide and I couldn’t be more thankful! Keep making amazing content, it’s both helpful and entertaining
The crestfallen knight will sometimes appear outside at a grave where he left his farrons legion sword and you can talk to him out there im pretty sure thats where he will be and he goes there after you defeat the abyss watchers i believe so thats probably why he was randomly disappearing
The farming in this game was beyond pain. Ds1 had specific enemies drop 1 or 2 things, but for some reason, the enemies tend to drop their entire wardrobe or armory in this one.
Went through the covenant grind myself when I 100%'d it last year. I just know there are people out there who got those done back when the game first released and multiplayer was bopping, and never looked back. They'll never understand what it took to get those purely offline...
23:48 when you hit her you could’ve pointed out that killing her ruins the whole questline of the ending which resolves in also not getting all sorceries and much more.
You can cheese the sage in the archives with toxic mist for some reason he wont run while under toxic mist just dont get too close to him takes a minute but it makes the area SO much easier
I recently 100% the game too. Vertebra shackle and pale tongues was the most grinding ever. But recently I built up about 19 pale tongues. More faster than when i was waiting for summons and grinding for them. But the other covenant items were dropping like candies for me
if you turn to the left instead of the right in the catacombs you fin 3 swordsman, they have a higher spawn chance and you farm embers at the same time
I did the whole dlc before farming the covenant, sped up the process a bit with the gold covetous ring 3. also the better rings help with the overall play through. Also realized you can get all the rings on ng+ 3 instead of running and looking for rings that you'll find later
This video helped me keep my motivation to finally get 100% in ds3. In my opinion this covenant farm is not the worst, I've seen a lot worse farms where for example one item have drop chance 0,05%, drops from event boss, have daily lockout and you can farm only for 14 days in one year. Or item who drops from certain mobs, can be farm infinity, but have 0,01 % drop chance. This, is bullshit. But yeah, it took for me 17 hours to farm them all and I'm frightened for farm covenants in ds2 on fresh save, because I lost my save after beated game. Ugh.
I'm so excited to see someone upload a video like this since I was so excited I just did this myself. I was close from a couple years back, but never finished the other playthroughs I needed to do it. So I started a fresh character to run through it all and become "The Dark Soul" myself. The rings were definitely the worst part, lol, since I think gestures can be done in two journeys if I'm remembering right? I had to do it in three because I forgot to summon someone before I progressed too far :(
I grabbed a mod that upped the drop rate for those covenant items to 50%. Even that took me 2-3 hours to do. I'm glad they did away with the covenant stuff in Elden Ring.
What I love about the DS series is everyone has their own hardest bosses. For you: nameless king. For me Twin princes 😅 my buddy has never beaten midir and he’s attempts it at least once a month 😂
Dude I just did this plat about a months ago and the farming, with the coins and symbol and everything took me literally 40 hours. I spent as much time farming as it took to get everything else done. It was a 76 hour plat run
the realization that i NEED to defeat the nameless king in new game +2 is filling me with dread. That's gonna be the last thing i do and i do NOT look forward to that
@@cristhianmorenogarzon3984 i guess i can take solace in the fact that i don't have to deal with DLC or darkeater midir. I defeated that dragon once with the cheese strategy and i never wish to do so again!
I just finished 100%-ing this game yesterday. Definitely frustrating to have to grind for the stupid covenant items, but it honestly wasn't terrible. I literally just put on a podcast in the background and took breaks and we got through it eventually lol
Hi bro can you drop me the ring I'm at new game plus collecting the plus 1 rings 😭 it's so boring just trying my luck to see if anyone is willing to drop
@@rasjh3205 probably the worst one is the Wolf ring from the watchdogs covenant, and unfortunately I sold that one before I realized every version of the rings is required. The good news is, you only need to have collected them at some point on your character, so if you sell them accidentally it's not an issue. I have every ring rn except for the standard wolf ring, so I can drop you whatever you might want
darks souls 3 is one of, if not my favorite game of all time, but i don't think I'll ever have the patience to play multiplayer long enough to grind out those covenant rings
The grind isn't that bad. Only takes like 3-4 hours, just throw on a podcast and boom, by the end (or middle for the one I used) of watching it you're done.
It took me around 8 and a half hours to get all the proof of concords kept. I was in the covenant too with the crystal rapier, symbol of avrice, high luck stat and popping the coins.
Ds3 is just maximum Miyazaki insanity. He went completely wild with everything. I wonder how long it took people to figure all this out in the correct order.
The mp item farming is what stretched these achievements out over the years for me. Only other time I've stuck with achievements and routinely came back over years to finally finish was MHW and its crowns. Pretty sure I must've spent more than 10 hours just constantly reloading the same few enemies and THEN doing it all over again for the next covenant.
As someone who has 100% every covenant in Dark Souls 3 in singleplayer, I can confirm that it is indeed torture :D Also, can we all just admire how smooth the transition at 51:38 was? Honestly, amazing video broski, you're hella underrated. Keep up the amazing work!! ✧♡(◕‿◕✿)

RUclips videos to me are getting stale, but watching your videos has been a nice refresher and distraction from these trying times. I know I might be a little sappy writing this, but I genuinely want you to know how entertaining and funny you are.
hey, comments like these mean the absolute world to me. I also share the same feeling about youtube, so thats Really cool that my videos can stand out in that case. thank you so much.
A good note if anyone forgets to go in the cage for the mound makers, u can get it by completing sirris's quest line after fighting with her in the pit of hollows
Since I just platinumed ds3 about two weeks ago… It feels nice to watch someone struggle through this.
I love your videos man! I wish there was more, love the way you edit them and your personality makes it! Keep at it dude
I got it too last year. Having to grind out the offerings for the covernants was the most dreadful thing but so worth. Now I can say I did it. This is my favorite soulslike game so it had to be done.
Really wish you had more videos man, love your content and want more.
This is probably the best guide for 100% I’ve ever seen. Good stuff
Wow! Literally discovered your channel yesterday. I thought it was going to be a long wait for DS3.
yeah, great timing on your part
Why kill the nameless king so early 💀💀💀💀💀💀
To get over it. He strong
Seen enough walk throughs that I can tell you about all quest lines and their conclusions (and fail conditions)
Greyrat - Once you find proof the old lady is dead, he becomes a scavenger merchant.
That's the bad ending
Orbelk - However you spell his name.
Andri - their quest isn't worth it since your reward for it is to get summoned to fight Aldrich as many times as possible (and it won't count for you) but their quest will fail if your trying to become a dark lord thanks to the abductor: which is ten times better ngl
Onion Knight - You already explained that questline.
50 minutes of this pacing and effort and detail could be considered a form of torture for an editor. Hats off.
51:40 I don't know if that was intentional or not but that transition was beautiful
as someone who has platinum ds3 without multiplayer congratulations bc the grinding made me go insane
Honestly, your content goes hard. You 100% (pun intended) deserve all the attention you get from these videos. Keep it up!
Vibe and a Half
Incredible Video
Amazing Dark Souls Content Recently
Thank You
This Souls Binge Recently Is Great
I just got all achievements after 163 hours of ds3, its the best feeling ever😀
I have never seen anyone get in that cage to get to Pit Of Hollows without fighting the tree before. That blew my mind honestly.
But the other covenant items were dropping like candies for me
You only need 10 pale tounges
@@randomuruk723010 for the ring
It's grand to see the trilogy finally finished but damn it hurt watching you ignore those NPC side quests.
if you turn to the left instead of the right in the catacombs you fin 3 swordsman, they have a higher spawn chance and you farm embers at the same time
I did the whole dlc before farming the covenant, sped up the process a bit with the gold covetous ring 3. also the better rings help with the overall play through. Also realized you can get all the rings on ng+ 3 instead of running and looking for rings that you'll find later
FINALLY! Your DS1 video is why I'm nabbing the last achievements I need.
All I need for the platinum is the vertebrae shackles, sunlight medals, and like 60 more rings.
the realization that i NEED to defeat the nameless king in new game +2 is filling me with dread. That's gonna be the last thing i do and i do NOT look forward to that
I'm thinking the same, skipping Nameless king on NG+ was such a relatable moment :v
@@cristhianmorenogarzon3984 i guess i can take solace in the fact that i don't have to deal with DLC or darkeater midir. I defeated that dragon once with the cheese strategy and i never wish to do so again!
Loved the pacing, jokes, the game, what a perfect video thank you for suffering!
and thank you for watching!
okay now a step by step guide to the entire thing.
Finally done with everything but all rings and the link to the first flame trophy!
Put
The shield
Down!
I felt that 😂
“I’m Mexican and I’m not making that joke.” Jajajaja, te rifaste.
I do NOT miss grinding those covenant items at all.
Man ds3 was such a massive improvement from previous games
I’m currently going through this rn. Nearly done.
great editing, great commentary, perfect video
@timshupe2838 really? Can you do it I have all the normal ones I only need the plus 1 ring and plus 2
@@timshupe2838 I have the platinum In dark souls 1 if you want to after I can drop you the rings and wappens you need for dark souls 1 platinum
darks souls 3 is one of, if not my favorite game of all time, but i don't think I'll ever have the patience to play multiplayer long enough to grind out those covenant rings
The grind isn't that bad. Only takes like 3-4 hours, just throw on a podcast and boom, by the end (or middle for the one I used) of watching it you're done.
Top 3 favorite game of all time it made me feel hopeless and triumphant no game can do that so many times.
It took me around 8 and a half hours to get all the proof of concords kept. I was in the covenant too with the crystal rapier, symbol of avrice, high luck stat and popping the coins.
bro deserves more subs with how good the videos are
Ds3 is just maximum Miyazaki insanity. He went completely wild with everything. I wonder how long it took people to figure all this out in the correct order.
video goes crazy as a tutorial for navigating ds3 npc quests
Bro that killing baby joke caught me so off guard!!! I’m freaking rolling
I’m sorry but 29:23 was the funniest thing ever
Man the soul of Cinder fight would've been a much different story if it had dark bead
The mp item farming is what stretched these achievements out over the years for me. Only other time I've stuck with achievements and routinely came back over years to finally finish was MHW and its crowns.
Pretty sure I must've spent more than 10 hours just constantly reloading the same few enemies and THEN doing it all over again for the next covenant.
this video was a lifesaver dude thank you so much
As someone who has 100% every covenant in Dark Souls 3 in singleplayer, I can confirm that it is indeed torture :D
Also, can we all just admire how smooth the transition at 51:38 was? Honestly, amazing video broski, you're hella underrated. Keep up the amazing work!! ✧♡(◕‿◕✿)
Saw the title and immediately got ptsd from grinding out covenant items.
