Genuinely on the edge of my seat for Fudge's fight. Absolute chad willing to big balls it for that mist damage. Massive props to Barzys for a near perfect fight as well though
@@DOOM_glazer mate, what are you even saying. Fudge played the game like a chad, basically did everything perfectly and used a very well thought combo of pathing and spells.
It is actually insane how two completely different runs got so close. I never would of thought to use mist and definitely don't have the skill to use the dagger alongside it. Thanks for making these challenges, they are awesome!
Storyteller's hax poison + Bandit Knife is the Cheese Gael start at SL1. Having Pesitilent Lulz on top of that would be waaay fast yea, consistent & with Quickstep too for safety. Can even be faster if you only have Storyteller Staff on L1 to cast Pestilent Lulz + WA, one hand Bandit Knife swings is just way faster + less stamina than two hand for proccing bleed which is what matters more, switching it to 'empty' lets you Quickstep while 1 handed, then Chloranthy Ring + 3. That said extra time to get said +3 ring can be a factor too...hmm.

I find it funny that one of the winners won with the glass cannon strategy but the 1st place won with the exact opposite of it. Just by being a massive tank and using the mist to screw Gael over worse than if he had the twin swords.

Two absolutely incredible runs with wildy different strategies. thank you for organizing these challenges and making these videos, they are very entertaining.
This is already a well established speedrun category. Cool thing about these challenges is that they push runners to invent their own strats. All bosses would be mostly people following routes that have been known and optimized for years

Barzys run is amazing but Fudge's was so perfectly crafted for killing gael. Everything he did was such high risk. Not taking spook, not picking up alluring skulls, using mist, hoping for the staff drop rng. Everything was so perfectly lined up for him
This was really entertaining. After FudgeQT said he was "so far to the side", I had to watch it again. And yeah, at 26:32, if you are in 0.25x, you can se him just flip 90 degrees in ONE frame. Going 1 frame at the time, I see Gael even misses, and the sword initially goes over FudgeQT's head, only to re-adjust, and end up inside him. Anyway. Great content!

I was looking forward to this video all month. So cool to see the creativity used in the challenge, particularly Fudge's route with the STS. There must have been a lot of pressure to do well on runs where the STS dropped within 2 tries. Great job with the editing, and on organizing this challenge! Can't wait to see more challenges in the future.
Gael was so scared he even didn't want to fight, even want to try 😂 Amazing video from amazing chest Gael voice sounds younger tho Also i've officially watch all your videos Where do you get that money? Your mom credit card or by hard work of uploading videos over and over?
Thanks you Amazing Chest for hosting this competition. I never got a compelted run that I was proud enough to submit and due to unfortunate personal circumstances at the time, i couldnt bring myself to grind for my mental sake. However excuses aside, just doing the runs that I did and the routing was extremely fun. I hope to participate in more competitions.
Adding that I had a similar route to Barzy so that would be interesting if i got a good time, however the magic strategy was something I could never had tjought of, shoutouts to fudge.
Looking forward to seeing your submissions in the future, Yana! And hopefully you're in a better mental state now. I hope your circumstances improve. 🙂
Love seeing this kind of content, and your editing, narration, and insight add so much tension. I really love how you've added some constraints to shake up known strategies and force folks to get creative! Love the goals with your other challenges too! Keep it up!
Amazing video. I couldn't wait to see how it ended. Watch two different styles of speed run tactics go face to face. With fantastic editing between the two. Hands down one of the best dark souls videos I have seen in a long while. Hats off to all the competitors. Going to have to try this for fun.
I just came back to watch this video, and I am just amazed by how good this video is. I love your editing so much. Something about this video makes me happy, I remember being so excited for this video when it was first released, I love your content and your videos. Thank you for making these videos I hope you do see this because I really mean it
Thanks Cathy, I come back to this video a lot too. While the editing was good, I think the runners themselves are what made it great. I really love Fudge’s speech at the end. It’s really powerful and I teared up while I was editing it. Did you get a chance to watch my latest one?
@@AmazingChest I plan on watching it eventually because I absolutely love this competition series but Im still try completely explore elden ring before watching, but you are genuinely my favorite souls RUclipsr for my favorite games and especially the growth you've gained. It was fun finding you when you were more under the radar and thinking "why isn't this Poppin off!" Appreciate you reading my comment tho just wanted to tell you the effect these videos have on me :)
@@AmazingChest also the speech at the end by fudge was amazing because I can only imagine how he was feeling when he got impaled, it reminds me when I was still exploring dark souls 3 on my first run and spending hours and exactly like 3 days on midir(I know now that it not hard anymore but don't want to get flamed I swear I'm good at the game😭) and the feeling of finally beating him was just amazing
While watching this i feel like this is some kind of anime battle between two powerful beings. One's different from another but they're both equally overpowered. Nicely done for two of them.
Oh man... this really is one of the best dark souls videos that i've ever seen. Not because of the challenge itself (which is pretty good, very nice and difficult) but the way you did the video and voice-over it, was really nice to watch!
amazing video, amazing runs. congrats to all the winners, and thank you for the amazing commentary! watched from beginning to end at the edge of my seat!
I love the way this video was narrated. I’ve played the game twice, and so I’m not new. But i don’t know anything about the speedrunning strats. It’s nice to have commentary that doesn’t explain like I’ve never played the game in an overly basic way, but also does a concise and good job explaining the strategies.
Thanks! Huge part of the narration's accuracy was thanks to Luc1. He's a speedrunner who gave me a lot of context into the runs. He streams often and currently has the world record for all bosses glitchless - you should check him out if you're interested! Awesome guy.
@@AmazingChest whatever you do, keep up your narration style. It’s better than many channels with millions of subs. You’ve done an awesome job on your videos. I’d normally never watch such long videos but your commentary forced me too. It wasn’t too long or too short and was the perfect amount of info. Awesome job brother!
@@AmazingChest just keep putting in the effort. You have the recipe. All you’re waiting for is a few viral vids. Not that i have any experience but I’d experiment with more genres to have more lines in the water. Specifically elden ring. Take that game head on and that’s your best chance to blow! :D
really late to the comments but I see alot of people complaining about the mist built and its like, just shut up, id like to see you use this "cheese" build and beat the game with it, it was so impressive seeing him balance using the spell while using his knife and poison
Amazing Video! Much more fun to watch rather than speedrunners only teardropping, and killing bosses without activating them at all! (I know they are exceptionally challenging to do, but its mostly boring to watch). Love how you made the video look like they were competing in real time. I hope you make videos similar to this. The best part were the different builds and strategies between FudgeQT and Barzys. Both did an amazing run!
Omg that was crazy. You did a really great job setting this up and I commend the effort put in by you and the participants. Looking forward to seeing future projects if your up for it.
you know I am back for support. Chest every video of yours is a work of art, and with every video I can see your skills as both an editor and a storyteller increase. Keep up the amazing work, but don't burn yourself out :3 And big congrats to Fudge and everyone who entered! No matter what place you got, you beat a challenge and got better at the game. That's what's amazing about these.
I really appreciate it, Cupcaeke! Practice makes perfect and I think I'm getting confident enough to try new things. Thanks for supporting me and I hope you enjoy the next one. 🙂
Everyone please hear for the rule at his video description , he says no major glitch but minor glitches are allowed so after you hear that you can comment , every speedruner knows what is major or minor glitches
Well I'm lacking a LOT of fast run experience (obviously since I never focused on that) but it's really interesting to watch the small jumps and glitches that help to accelerate everything. Also, the skill and precise movements of Fudge and Barzys is amazing to watch, it shows how well they know the bosses. I'd have messed up a lot by now! That Halflight cheese that Fudge did, first time I've ever seen it, and it was GREAT. Amazing idea! So much to say, but this was a really fun, really interesting challenge! Can't wait for the next one!

Oh yeah
I love me some fun souls content
Lol! Love the Segway into the ad read, I’m so glad you’re getting sponsors to fund all of this
Staff = good
I was looking forward to this video all month. So cool to see the creativity used in the challenge, particularly Fudge's route with the STS. There must have been a lot of pressure to do well on runs where the STS dropped within 2 tries. Great job with the editing, and on organizing this challenge! Can't wait to see more challenges in the future.
Gael was so scared he even didn't want to fight, even want to try 😂
Amazing video from amazing chest
Gael voice sounds younger tho
Also i've officially watch all your videos
Where do you get that money? Your mom credit card or by hard work of uploading videos over and over?
Sponsors! If you want to help me do more of these, then download the game!!
These community challenge videos are by far my favorite content of yours! Keep'em coming
Tons planned for Elden Ring
Glad to see Fudge win. Fun to see a different approach. Really enjoyed the video.
Yo props to the guy doing his 8 hr run and still proudly submitting it.
Thank you!! That's a huge statement.
these are some of my favorite videos! Hope you have many more challenge runs planned cus I love watching 'em!
amazing video, amazing runs. congrats to all the winners, and thank you for the amazing commentary! watched from beginning to end at the edge of my seat!
This is the peak of challenge videos; I love seeing two very different strategies that are both valid get so close to winning.
Thanks for the feedback, it keeps me going. 💪I'll definitely keep this comment in mind moving forward as I continue to work on future videos.
@@AmazingChest just keep putting in the effort. You have the recipe. All you’re waiting for is a few viral vids. Not that i have any experience but I’d experiment with more genres to have more lines in the water. Specifically elden ring. Take that game head on and that’s your best chance to blow! :D
Congrats to all the winners and everyone who completed the run, seems really hard to do quickly
Hey Ulz! Yeah this was definitely the most difficult challenge I've ever issued
This was awesome. I was glued to the screen and rooting for both of them.
Barzys the alpha chat and FudgeQT the sigma..
The battle of centuries
really late to the comments but I see alot of people complaining about the mist built and its like, just shut up, id like to see you use this "cheese" build and beat the game with it, it was so impressive seeing him balance using the spell while using his knife and poison
yes ive been so excited to watch this GREAT video congrats on being awesome
Amazing Video! Much more fun to watch rather than speedrunners only teardropping, and killing bosses without activating them at all! (I know they are exceptionally challenging to do, but its mostly boring to watch). Love how you made the video look like they were competing in real time. I hope you make videos similar to this. The best part were the different builds and strategies between FudgeQT and Barzys. Both did an amazing run!
Appreciate the comment and thanks for watching!
Omg that was crazy. You did a really great job setting this up and I commend the effort put in by you and the participants. Looking forward to seeing future projects if your up for it.
I love these bounty-esque challenges. Its been years since i have played darksouls but I love this content, keep it up :)
Wait til you see what I have cooking up this weekend
you know I am back for support.
Chest every video of yours is a work of art, and with every video I can see your skills as both an editor and a storyteller increase. Keep up the amazing work, but don't burn yourself out :3
And big congrats to Fudge and everyone who entered! No matter what place you got, you beat a challenge and got better at the game. That's what's amazing about these.
I really appreciate it, Cupcaeke! Practice makes perfect and I think I'm getting confident enough to try new things. Thanks for supporting me and I hope you enjoy the next one. 🙂
that was genuinely exciting to watch, to the end I had no idea who would have won
this was so tense to watch. Great content and fantastic runners!
Great vid. Really enjoyed the info relating to the run that was being shown. 👍
what excellent editing, the ability to see an interesting showdown and then put it in video form in beautiful
Everyone please hear for the rule at his video description , he says no major glitch but minor glitches are allowed so after you hear that you can comment , every speedruner knows what is major or minor glitches
Yoooo amazing job fudge. I was rooting for u the entire time.
Great video, man! Love these competitions!
Truly enjoyed both runs and the excellent commentary! But man Fudge had sooo much style and strategy, it was hard not to root for him
man i LOVE your content please do it more and do more community chalanges i love watching those!!!!
Man I love this series. What a creative build from Fudge. Awesome shit
Holy shit, truly amazing run from Fudge. I've never been closer to the edge of my seat for one of these videos.
