the way the dad said “everything she does is cute” and “she can do no wrong” about his daughter but orders his son around and pushes him away when he hugged him is disgusting.
truly
Yes
My parents say my brother can do no wrong but he does everything wrong
Yeah I blame the dad he’s so frustrated to watch him push his son away and then say that he doesn’t spend time with him 🙁
100%. His son wants to hug him but is repulsed - but then the Dad pushes his son to hug some other bloke! Sends mixed messages; and then the whole "he needs to toughen up" thing is so toxic. And then he fawns over his tantrumming spoilt daughter. I feel most sorry for the mum and the son in this scenario. The homework section was truly distressing - he really came off like he didn't like his son.
Glad he managed to turn it round.
Ofc Frank didn't want to dress himself; it's the only way he gets his mom's attention.

Great point. Some sort of freudian situation there.
That struck me also!😢
Oldest child roles are just like that sometimes. It's rare that people get help for it by people like Nanny Jo.
Remember people, parents are taught or learn by their parents and that means the good, bad and some dysfunctional behavior. Some people aren't even aware there are problems or won't admit it.The smart parents acknowledge there's a problem and do whatever it takes to permanently change for the better and that takes love and courage!

All people deserve redemption. All children deserve the chance to be better than their parents. All families deserve to be rid of their generational curses.
The Dad putting the son in time out like that was pathetic. His whole way thinking is terrible. Ignoring your son, invalidating his feelings and making him feel less than is not teaching him to be stronger. Instead, it kills his self esteem and deprives him of the love and attention that he deserves.
It's shame but this is just way too common where kids do not get treated equally. Whether its the boys being treated better over the girls or the girls being treated better over the boys. Both are wrong and toxic. It shouldn't be that hard to treat everyone equal!
Most boys are treated this way, maybe that’s why we become so ignorant as we become older

I agree, there’s no reason for favorites, it just makes the children either feel better than the sibling, and can cause rudeness, or less important and feel unwanted
