About This Video: The Nintendo Switch Lite is the 3DS "killer". This handheld device plays almost all Nintendo Switch games but doesn't dock to a TV and does not have Joy Cons that come off of the main console. Overall though, it's a great little handheld.

Sorry I didn't get to testing the analog stick in the video...just ran out of time. I've uploaded a quick video showing me testing the analog stick to the community tab...go check it out if you're curious! (Spoiler alert...they are interchangeable)
TronicsFix I haven’t played it but I like to original one
I think that there's some glitch at 6:53. It looks like a small bar in the middle of the screen.
So did the normal analog switch work in the lite version :)?
Haven’t been able to check yet
I can't put the thing down! Loving it!
This is like eating all of the PEZ pellets before even using the toy.
I can relate
Phew, it's back. I thought Nintendo had asked you to take down the video 😁. Thanks for reuploading
Ha, ha...nope...just wanted a cleaner upload with no glitches!
@@Tronicsfix can I ask you what your turn around time for service on PS4 pro
@@Tronicsfix D'awww I missed the original glitchy video. Was it similar to what we see at 6:53?
You'll hit 1 million subs in few years for sure.
That'd be awesome!
I am more optimistic than that. I suspect within a year or so based on your numbers now. Seems to have jumped up quite a bit in the last few months too
Too long, he need to throw some iPhone 11 and Switch Lite out a 20 story building. 1 million in a few months.
It's nearly a year later and he's already at 680k, 1 million is next year for sure
I can't help but feel like this is a nod to how insanely watchable the content is and how he will grow, but also lending to the fact that people are gonna wanna know how to fix their Switch a few years from now when it just wears out from normal use. He's gonna be the first to show up with his monotony of Switch fix videos
Man, being a tech must be fascinating.
Other people: Can't wait to go home and play my new game console!
Steve: Can't wait to go home and tear this console apart, see what's inside, put it back together and see if it still works!
And if it doesn't work, modding is a great option.
Just found this channel and it's honestly so cool. I've always been interested in electronics, and to see you take apart these devices that I spend so much time with is very gratifying. Keep up the good work!
I'm really happy that Nintendo decided to make the Switch Lite pretty repairable.
Thank you for that great Video and providing your experience and knowledge to the world. This makes you a Hero. Please keep up with high quality content like that.
Man I love Tronicsfix
Nothing like watching teardowns and tests for hours
Awesome job Steve 😍
thanks for taking the time to look at the back panel. I was replacing the sd card door and could not remember how the black parts went back.
very informative....thanx for gettin this switch taken apart so quick n lettin us kno whats in it...i love that mini driver u got too, looks like it makes things waaay easier
I absolutely LOVE your videos! They always make me feel relaxed and chill. Keep up the great work 😊❤️
Your videos are very high quality :D
Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Thanks! I appreciate that
What a savage! Wow! love your content and dedication to make your work perfect. First to take it apart! I love it
Thank you so much! I've been looking forward to this since the switch lite was first announced
Thanks for watching!
Man your videos are awesome, keep up the great work!
Thanks! I plan on it
Couldn't agree more One of the best channels on RUclips
Clear commentary and easy to watch
Great explaining aswell 👌
Amazing, that is what i was waiting for!
Love you videos not a whole lot of talking just straight to the point
I don’t know what you did, but it seems to be fixed now so thank you for the re-upload! Great video as usual. :)
Your vids are always so interesting even if I only have a basic understanding of what's actually going on. 😁😁😁
Thanks for uploading this, followed your tear down and then reversed everything & repaired my son's switch lite control stick - obviously you made it very easy to follow because I am not experienced 😂
Been waiting for this !!
Damn I was going to put colored buttons on my switch lite but after watching this I don't think it's worth taking it apart that much.
Thanks for the great high quality video as always! Quick question, from your experience so far what do you prefer more? The lite or the regular switch?
Amazing Video! Your knowledge you share is Appreciated! Always watch out for the Video Chip with Switches!lol
You are awesome man! U deserve more subs
Love your videos man.
Was waiting for this. :D
I love this. It is very interesting. Like all your videos.
Love the video, after watching it I would definitely buy one, it looks to be totally repairable.
Loving your videos. So inspirational
Thank you!
Best unboxing video in RUclips for the Switch Lite.
another great video i hope you made more videos like this one
Great disassembly video!
I was looking forward to this.
those gold pads for the bottom of the buttons look like 70's peace signs thats awesome
Great video dude
Hell do I love your videos haha
its always interesting seeing how manufacturers make things. its also interesting the different changes they made!
it is kinda bad that they combined the main board with the right joycon tho...
Love watching your videos. Do you happen to know where I can get a replacement board for the d pad?
new subscriber! great channel!
Good job Steve :-)
@The retro gamer with old consoles Hi :-)
Thanks Vince!
Was eager to see how the built in joycon system works. Was not disappointed!
Nice awesome video as always 👍🏻❤️
Thanks!
The first video disappeared. I'm glad you got this back up.
Great vid as usual my man, where were you when I was five years old and taking apart all my toys lol. 8/10 times I had "bonus" parts and screws left over after reassembly lol.
Ha, ha...if it works without them does it really even need them?!
@@Tronicsfix lmao that's what I used to tell my dad!🤣
Thanks for u teardown. 👍
So are those thumbsticks exactly the same as the original switch...? Man I hope drifting wont become an issue for the lite also
I haven't actually even gotten to test it yet...in fact it's still apart...I wanted to get this vid shot, edited and uploaded all today so that's all I've had time for
@@Tronicsfix No problem thanks for the reply and video anyways it was helpful👍🏻
It will be an issue, without a doubt.
@@garrett_turbod itsnt a issue just send it to nintendo
They're the new updated version
Thank you! This tear down helped me out after my daughter accidentally dropped her lite in the toilet. Luckily I got it cleaned out and it works again.
New Video yay 😍
(edit) In the country where i life it was way after midnight if you posted this video.
(Thx for the heart😊)
I wanted to see with the buttons changed, with black buttons
Another great video.
Hey tronics, I have a couple questions for you.
I got the blue lite and I'm looking to replace the white buttons with the black ones as well as replace the Analogs in it with the new updated analog sticks (That supposedly don't get the drift.)
The buttons (minus the DPAD) appear to be exactly the same as the buttons for regular joycons so that won't be hard to find but my I don't know where to get the updated analogsticks? I was going to do it all at the same time while I had the console open.
Another question is the DPAD the same size as the DPAD in the pro controller? I don't have calipers to measure them but I know you do if you don't mind checking that out to let me know.
Awesome TearDown Video. I am concern about the speakers. Some games they sound really low on high volume. Are the speakers upgradable? I was thinking of replacing them awful speaker with Bose headset speakers so games sound louder
Good work:)
So is the old design analog stick working in the new switch?? It is interesting to know. Always enjoy your videos! Thanks for sharing
I actaully haven't even had time to put it back together yet!
@@Tronicsfix I was wondering about that. You were wondering about if it would work after you put it back together at the beginning of the video and then ended with just the mobo in hand. I'm assuming it'll go well :P
Best unboxing video!
Finally, real Nintendo Switch Lite teardown video!
Love your videos.
Thank you!
TronicsFix hi can you give me any tips on how to fix consoles like you
So underrated.. You deserve 5 million subs. (Just subcribed)

Thanks !! My backplate literally starting looking super glossy from the left side and I hate it !!! Ima replace it
All I needed was to see it reassembled to see if it would work because you did say it at the beginning of the video. But great video
I don't plan on getting a Lite, but if I were it's good to see that buttons aren't too difficult to get to for swapping. I'm just not feeling the white buttons and sticks.
It looks like the metal plate you took off first significantly blocks the air intake vents (especially the right one.) Hopefully that doesn't damper air flow too much.
Looks good! To be honest, replacing OG Switch/Switch V2 is easier than Switch Lite.
looks really nice, i wonder if its thermals will do better or worse than regular switch
Im of those which bougt the original switch at kaunch and 2.5 years later it works fine
I came here to see if I could easily access the buttons on the right side for cleaning purposes, good thing I decided to instead of immediately trying to open it up myself
Awesome Video!!!
Hey thanks!
Nice video!
This is what the Playstation Portable could have been, if Sony would have committed to the idea instead of canceling it.
huh?
The playstation portable exists.
Favourite part of mine was seeing you remove the carburator - didn't even know the switch came with one
these are some high quality pcbs!
Could you make a video about fixing the Nintendo Power glove?
That screwdiver is awesome.
Hey I would like to see a video of you fixing the should buttons on a Nintendo switch lite
hey mate about your favorite screw driver how long for battery ? thanks :D
"Sort of" is what I was thinking. I was more wondering if it would be one solid board that the screen connected to. You can separate one "joy-con", but too bad the other is literally part of the main board. For repair purposes I wish they BOTH could be removed and replaced.
So how much did u make from reselling the switch?
I subscribed!
thankyou this just helped me replace a broken joy stick on my friends child switch light
Hey, will that little screw electric driver you used to take out those first four screws be able to take out a stripped screw on the side of the switch. I've been having trouble with it for a few days now.
But did you test the video chip for shorts with that beeping meter?
Ha, ha...there's ins't a video chip on this one!
@@Tronicsfix So, should have less problems?
@Conzpiracyzero88 My guess is it will be worse.
The current spikes seem to be able to make it through the power control circuit.. and it used to be that the weaker chips was the gpu. It makes sense as it is the most power hungry chip... and it acted as a fuse.
Now the next chip to act as a fuse is probably the main cpu with integrated gpu...tine will tell.
My daughter's switch lite had a bad card reader and went out within the first month. I've been trying to find a replacement part but no luck yet.
I believe it will be a new series about fixing switch lite it short, i like the regular switch fixing series
Hi man, great channel, please do a Nintendo DS original teardown please
@TronicsFix Where is the link for screwdrivers like that?
There does not seem to be a single video on youtube on soldering a USB3.0 Type Micro-B port (replacing it), its the one with 2 halves to it and one half can be used for USB2.0 if needed. This is typical on USB3.0 portable hard drives like WD My Passport. Can you make a video on how to replace this port?
0:30 "Let's see if it works by the time we're done"... Well, did it? haha..
Do u hav a link to the blue pad u use in the videos. I'm hoping to do what u do in my area
awesome channel
Goood Video Men :D
Lol why did you remove that other video? Btw, love your channel, big fan of repairing stuff, looking to become an electronics repairer in the future. I especially love the microscope motherboard repairing scenes!
There was some glitches with it. This re-upload seems to be normal. Glad you're enjoying this stuff!
@@Tronicsfix Oh, okay. Just now while watching I noticed a tiny glitch at around 6:52
Ya, something still isn't quite right but this one is at least watchable. Thanks for letting me know
You think there’ll be a chance to ever dock this for TV video out?
Would have enjoyed seeing the old nintendo switch analog stick in action by the end of the video.. :( oh well
I know...I ended up just not having time. I wanted to get this out soon. I haven't even had time to put it back together yet!
Random Question: Is there any way to repair button contacts like the ones you point at @ 8:26? I have a bunch of classic console controllers, and those contacts tend to get less sensitive over time, and I'm wondering if there's a way to recondition/repair them.
Hey, do you think that if the regular switch’s motherboard was put into the switch lite it would be able to dock? Just wondering
Did it work after putting it back together, specially with the old part?
10W fan, draws a lot compared to the rest of the switch :O
I don't know if that's possible: but can you change the usb-c port in the switch lite and replace it with the "normal" switch's port and see if it docks? I heard the new port in the lite version only charges so maybe if you change it you can dock it... I don't know tho
Could you answer what the torque is like on that screwdriver? Would it happen to bring out any real tight screws, or is that better left to hand tools? And how does it do with tightening screws? snug but not too tight? Thanks if you can reply good sir. :)
